Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I hope they do a good job with the artifact weapons and making it so you cant grind artifact power in one day, thus making dungeons stay relevant throughout the expansion. I hope they don't mess up classes, making them too similar to each other and i would like to see some variation and cool specialization specific abilities to keep the variety alive. Blizzard could also improve the leveling experience, making it harder and adding group quests so people have to play with each other, simply making it fun. My biggest concern about Legion is the legendary items, it won't be rewarding to see the best peace of gear to drop from a crab and experienced players won't get rewarded for their effort in the same way as grinding for a legendary for 6 months, it's pure RNG nowadays.

My fondest memory from WoW is being a noob not finding my way in Orgrimmar. I asked in the trade chat for help and this dude invited me to a group and helped me out. This happened 3 years ago and we remain best friends today.

With the ebb and flow of class changes each expansion I tend to look for the class/spec that has the highest skill cap and for me, fun factor. In Legion (RAWR.) I am exceptionally excited to smite my foes to heal my allies. Yes, that means I am super excited to play Disc again. After going through a phase where we have been playing bubble bobble, it will be refreshing to have such a unique way to play. My personal belief is that this class has the opportunity to drastically change the way teams approach mechanics and raid composition. I could not be more excited to get into this class and start theory crafting, then putting that into play to see what works well and what does not. Will I be able to spec to maximize my dps for certain fights and compete on charts or keep it a streamlined max hps output through dps build? So many questions to be answered. Oh, and don't even get me started on the shadow changes. The priest will be logging many hours of enjoyment this xpac. So excited.

I looking forward to the class changes and artifacts, should bring a nice new feel to most, if not all, specs. What I miss the most is probably the wrath style of gearing and talents, min/maxing with talents was fun

First question: I can't wait for almost everything, but most of all the nostalgia and lore that this expansion may bring!
Second question: My favorite moment in WoW is a pretty tough question, but it was probably back in Wrath. I missed the whole burning crusade hype and rush sadly and started in Wrath when I was a wee nublett! I made a Blood Elf rogue and totally spelled her name wrong, but for some reason I stayed with it. I got up to 55 the old DK lock and then made a death knight, and man that was some of the most fun I ever had. Then my guild brought me to BT to of coarse try to get those cheeky warglaives! The first time I ran through that temple I knew I was in love with that side of WoW  the dark Fel corrupted side, probably why I still love Blood Elfs. I can't wait for legion so maybe this time I can get a glimpse of what it was all like!

Illywillydan for life.

The thing I am looking forward most to in Legion has got to be the new wardrobe-system. I am a huge collectionist - I love to collect mounts, pets, toys and soon™, item appearances will be on the list as well. I am already starting to spend all my gold in the BMAH to buy off the T3 gear. One of my fondest memories is when I was able to clear ICC 10 Normal for the first time with my guild, which consisted mainly of real life friends of mine. It was just great to witness Arthas' downfall together and I think that's what world of warcraft is all about

I'm hoping that they will take the lessons of WoD into account as they move forward into Legion.  WoD started very strong and then fell flat - Legion is very much a chance at redemption. I'm looking forward to trying the new 5 man dungeoning system taken from Diablo III - where things will get harder and harder and you have a chance at mythic raid equivalent gear.  That sounds 100% made for me.  My largest irritation with WoD was no valid 5 mans in the late game, everything funnels you to LFR, and I do not enjoy LFR, so where in previous expacks I would play alts once my raid progression was done, this time around I had no drive.  BRING ON THE 5 MANS.  To answer the other half - my fondest memory remains my guild's Illidan kill.  We were not the best guild, but we still cleared more than most.  We spent 4 full weeks of progression throwing ourselves at Illidan, and I was one of the flame tanks.  Got really good at dodging those eyebeams. pfffff 4 weeks of pushing hard with the same mistakes again and again until FINALLY the last pull of the night before 3.0 was to go live (nerfing everything) - like, literally 3 hours before servers were going to go down for the patch -  we got it.  Felt so good, felt more 'legitimate' than killing him the next week ever could have (it was realyl a massive nerf). lol

I'm really hyped for artifact weapons. At first I was a bit wary of spending the whole expansion not getting a proper weapon upgrade, but I feel between the lore and "artifact power" (or whatever it's called) it will be a splendid replacement for the legendary quest line. This will actually cause me to level classes and specs purely to experience the unique storyline.0 transmog system cannot come soon enough. These Big Crates of Salvage are burning a hole in my pocket.

i'm looking forward to new content, the legendary quests for all my 11 classes, and the demon hunter as my 12th class, also the brandnew skins for my favourite class the druid.

what i liked in the past was the easy gold cap with warlords of draenor, and for all past addons of course all the lore and exciting bosses. i also enjoyed playing with my guild and friends.

what never won my attention was PvP, i never enjoyed it, but the prestige system sounds pretty interesting to me and maybe it'll be my first attemt on also having a look at the PvP aspect of world of warcraft smile.png

so far, best regards!

I'm really looking forward to all the artifact weapons and story that's goes along with each one. I'm also very interested in the new world drop legendary especially and the new dungeons and how the key stones will play into the whole dungeon experience.

My favorite memory was when I decided to kill Onyxia out of the blue and to my surprise she dropped her mount.

I started playing wow not too longe before wotlk. Warlock looked like very interesting class especially demologi tree. Although that spec was not what i imagine it was rly fun to play. But new demologi in legion look just astonishing. Not only this but all class animation, artefcts whole that lore thats awaiting as and pve... the most interesting part of game. Dungeons and raids that are there just to be conquered be my and my guild. I just can't wait biggrin.png

I'm looking forward to seeing such a lore-rich continent. I love the story of the game and really want to dig into that. I'm also looking forward to (and hoping for) a better end game that WoD had.  My fondest memories of WoW come from the Cataclysm days when I was really involved in a 10-man progression raiding group. My weren't #1 on the server by any stretch, but we downed the bosses as we could. There was nothing like the fun of downing a boss for the first time after 382 wipes on it

I can not wait for the new content, although I am a casual player for the most part, the new Demon Hunter hero looks intriguing and interesting. I have recently gotten more in to pvp and I also can not wait for the new pvp system as well as the new honor point system, looks like it will over all be a good expansion, besides the nerfs to the classes such as the hunter

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
