Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am a new WoW player and super excited for Legion. The demon hunter class looks like it will be the best one yet and am super exicted to play it. The glide feature looks like a ton of fun. I hope I get the chance to play it early through a beta invite. Grats to the soon to be winners and I'll see you guys on release.

Looking forward to the story which has been a huge draw to the game for me since i started played right before WotLK. i think the artifact weapon idea is a great way to keep everyone engaged at end game, not just the top tier raiders. probably the best part of the game for me in the past was when i first started and did not understand the game and was making a royal ass of myself with mismatched gear and having no idea what i was doing and it was great to have a community that mainly tried to help and explain what i needed and how to play that really kept me playing the game. it is situations like that which i think make this game great is that there are people who don't just shun the new players who actually want to learn

Mostly I'm looking forward to the artifacts. It's an interesting gameplay addition that could be really fun. Might make leveling alts (I have 11 level 100 toons) more fun too. I like that the talent trees (grids? matrices? . dartboards?) are more focused on the individual specs.

I'm excited about a lot of things in legion, from the new zones, lore, and raids. I've played wow for a few years now and every expantion gets me excited, but the class changes they're adding seem different and look like they give you more choice on how you want to play the spec/class. I'm really looking forward to legion I think (from what I've seen so far) it has a ton of content, the raid bosses look fun and challenging, and the new profession system is something I can get into. The most important thing I'm looking forward to is, getting lost in the zone, with WoDs treasure finding addition it almost rewarded my constant "oh look over here there's fish in the water" or something along those lines. The graphics and time blizzard puts into their zones show and I can't wait to explore every inch of it (and probably fall off a mountain or two)

As someone who loves the lore aspects of WoW, and the NPC interactions, that's high on my list of things looking forward to. I love the idea of Artifact weapons, but i feel like it's not as special with everyone running around with them.  I love to see the dynamics of Azeroth change, the political and environmental upheavals. I'm glad that Order Halls vary from a Garrison system that felt forced and "like another daily". That's why Legion is must-play for me.

Despite all the new stuff, what I really look forward to is basically when everyone I know  get renewed interest and start playing again. You know how every expansion, people come back in waves, then fall off eventually? Well those first few weeks of everyone together are very dear to me.

Apart from that, I look forward to upgraded animations a lot! And just trying out new rotations and learning my class once again. I think I've basically mastered warrior playing this expansion, so I look forward to remastering it. There's of course also all the new areas to explore, reps to grind, dungeons to explore!

Oh and of course the transmog changes! I have 2 bank alts completely full of BoE greens, ready to be learned once the pre-patch hits. And of course, all my characters have a ton of BoP raid gear I grinded... I barely have any space.

But my fondest memories in the game have always been in the raids with my guild, and playing with my friends. When I think back to past expansions, I most vividly remembering raiding. That, and one of my greatest memories was when a small group of friends, 6-7 of us, just completely changed server for a bit in Wrath. We started over completely on another server, in a small guild, and played our butts off to gear and level our new alts as best we could, and fill the guildbank with stuff. We also managed to do some 10 man raids I remember. It was fun to start fresh like that, I mained a class I never had, and learned a lot about playing the game in doing this.

Looking forward to learn new raids to get a head on live server. Also I want to play the outlaw spec so bad:P  I started late to this last expansion but it was rather enjoyable with the garrison stuff and all that . Managed to clear mythic raids and I'm set for the new expansion so rather use my time to learn and experience the new expansion before hand

I really like that they're focusing on the class fantasies, giving you the feeling that you are your class. I like the artifact weapons mostly because of their own talent tree, which I hoped had several different trees, giving multiple choices instead of having all the abilities in the tree. The new pvp system looks really neat as well giving developers a way to balance PvE and PvP separately. However I do not agree with Blizzard's decision on pruning many of the abilites in the game, or making them brainless passives. I think it lowers the skillcap and makes you feel less badass. Having multiple bars full of diverse spells really did make you feel powerful, as opposed to having one or two bars full, and only using 4-6 abilities. I also hope that Blizzard has learned from WoD and try to understand what they succeeded with and what went wrong. I think that the majority of players liked the leveling experience from 90-100, and thought that the raids in end-game were well designed. The PvP that was handed to us in WoD was not as well received by the players. I have never seen/heard anyone say that they enjoyed Ashran or the slow paced PvP, so hopefully Blizzard will take those things into consideration and make the best expansion yet

Hello!

I think legion is about to make right decisions we need, since WoD was absolutely terrible regarding classes and other aspects of the game. I am really looking forward to almost all classes especially the new Demon Hunter and i would really like to give proper feedback for this class!

Legion is a chance for blizzard and i hope it will fulfill most things we the players want. Even though a lot of aspects are taken from Diablo 3 i think that these will be a great implementation to the game.

My favourite moment was back when i first stood in front of Illidan with my gnome mage and it could only be beaten when i finally killed him!

I remember that we used fireworks which i bought (or created? i cant really remember). It was really amazing and i never had that feeling again when we downed a boss!

I've always enjoyed playing new tanks, so for me in legion it's going to be the vengeance demon hunter start and then getting to grips with all the changes to the various other tanks and spending months deciding which to play. I loved learning the 3 tanking DK specs in Wrath and Brewmaster in mist

I am having a lot of trouble deciding on what class to play, looking as shadow priest and affliction warlock, but i haven't seen much about shaman yet either which is my current main. the hype is real when it comes to Legion, I've never been this exited for a expansion before. I'm mostly a raider with casual pvp battlegrounds when i'm bored, the new pvp system seams great for a player like me and the artifact system gives me reasons to do everything there is to do in WOW. Been Raid leading since BC and have done almost every class and spec there is to pretty much(except rogue and hunter), I've mained mostly shaman and druid

Well as for me I am excited for Legion, mostly because of the lack of content in the current Live version of the game.I am excited for: New Animations (makes the game feel fresh)                            Demon Hunters (awesome new HERO class)                            Story (I'm a lore nerd)                            Artifacts (While I dont like getting the Ashbringer, the other weapons seem cool)                            New PvP system (Ever since Mists of Pandaria the PvP got too hard                                                           to get into for a PvE focused player, I hope the                                                                 changes will bring back the fun I had while playing PvP in WotlK)While all these things look absolutely amazing and I really hope they will live up to my expectations, there are also some things that worry me about the expansion and those would be: The Endgame and the lack of content: With WoD these was very little to do after I got to level 100 and was done with Highmaul and later the Blackrock Foundry, not to mention that 5.1 had almost nothing in it.The content cuts: Remember Farahlon, capital cities, Tanaan on release? Yeah I do, and the content cuts completely removed these and put back Tanaan to 5.2, we are already seeing some of this with Thal'Dranath being removed and ''set back to be in a content patch'', I just hope it will actually happen, I don't want another Farahlon. And finally, the length of the expansion: I really do not want the WoD situation again, only 2 content patches with only 1 having actual content? That is very dissapointing from Blizzard and I hope that with this expansion we will go back to the ''Mists of Pandaria'' content patches where I absolutely loved 5.1 wasn't that bad either, and most importantly it had 4. content patches that had actual content in them (not like 6.1 which seemed like a 6.5), I really, really, really hope that they go back to those days. Well and that would be about everything that I think about the Legion expansion so far, I haven't had a chance to play it myself so many of these opinions come from reading articles around the internet, I would love to get a key and would love you for it.Thanks for reading, and congratz on the anniversary.Zergons

I am looking forward to the world and five mans being relevant for a long time. This also means we should see new dungeons in content patches as opposed to just raids as Blizzard can no longer claim that no one will be running them a few weeks after launch.

I am hopeful for transmog to open up and allow legendary items of the past be mog'd. I know that before it was said they wanted to avoid having everyone with the same looking weapons, but with the artifacts that kind of makes it no longer relevant, so that could be cool.

Customization for the artifacts also looks pretty good, but they really should allow things like priests who are shadow with the dagger to use a staff for a mog, and it will have to be expanded upon but a very solid start!

WoW seems to be trying to get going in a slightly newer and fresher direction and I like that. I hope it lives up to the expectations and is not rushed or has any corners cut like WoD. If we can stay clear of that, I believe Legion should have a healthy life cycle and be lots of fun for many months.

Cheers and thanks for hosting this giveaway! :)

I'm mostly excited for the challenge mode dungeons in Legion. I think they have some great potential and hopefully will provide an alternative to raiding. I love raiding but sometimes doing content in smaller groups is also fun.My favorite Wow Moment was probably getting my first Cutting Edge Achievement on Archimonde about three weeks ago

New expansion, new class to play throughout its duration. I'm very excited to try frost death knight in legion, the thought of simply using a dual wield version of frostmourne makes me pretty hyped around the spec itself but that's not the reason I chose that spec and class. Remorseless winter is now a part of the rotation and obliterate is now the main damage component of the spec. New talents got me surprised with the burst options it now gives and the AoE choices aswell, oh and lets not forget Sindragosa being a skill from the artifact weapons... yeah cool stuff. Well these are just thoughts of what i've been seeing so far, I can only reach a conclusion after i've actually tried it out and judge if it is as fun as I thought it would be.

I'm hoping the new PvP and talent system will allow for more unique takes on class specs in Legion. I like to see when people go outside the box creating a variation of a spec that hasn't become the cookie cutter. Prot War PvP better continue its viability.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
