Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm looking forward to the demon hunters in all honesty, that and the arcane mage artifact and lore that is incoming. Demon hunters because it means a possible reroll for me from Main Mage to Maining a havoc demon hunter. Mage changes and lore cause I've always loved mages in wow from Illidan to Khadgar, from Jaina to Rhonin. My fondest memory believe it or not is downing twin emps for the first time and working our way through the hallway of death on our way to C'thun

my fondest memories was back in vanilla wow on the legendary grind to rank 14 high warlord waking up at 5 am every morning and getting together ur regular bg group, playing for 20 hours straight with coke cans stacked up on my desk just blissfully rotting away, ahhh. the good old days, you could say I had left humanity behind. I'm looking most forward to the new PVP talents and honor system in legion

I'm really excited for all the changes to pop and the Artifacts weapons. I've also always wanted Dalaran as my main city and from what I seem it looks amazing and that makes me really excited for it

I'm mainly excited for the new animations, and the new PvP system for Legion. I've enjoyed a lot of PvP in the past, but I'm usually hesitant to PvP if I've taken a break and fallen behind.

I'm pretty hyped about Legion across the board, just to have new areas to explore and new quests to do. Gameplay-wise I'm really excited about the new transmog system, so much so I've been spending bonus rolls in HFC hoping for stuff that's not an upgrade, but looks cool. Will also be great to have some shake-ups among the major lore figures, including seeing more of Khadgar and Darion Mograine among others =) In the past. well, lots of stuff, but I remember really loving Pandaria when we first got there. Spent a couple of days mostly riding around, exploring

I love to win a key so I can do all the testing for thje class changes for me and my guild so i can make a class choice for the expansion and help some other guildies and it would be awesome to be able to have a bit of input outside of just agreeing with a majority based on what we can see from outside the beta I need to be hands on in order to fully understand what is going on with my game I want a return to glory not a final destination

The new dungeons in Legion look amazing. The Arcway feels so epic, sprawling and generally less “on-rails” than dungeons in recent expansions have been. I can definitely appreciate a guided experience but some of my favorite memories in wow are getting lost in dungeons like Maraudon and Blackrock Depths, turning a corner and coming out into a giant moss covered cavern with huge waterfalls or a Dwarven stronghold deep inside a mountain. My main has been a paladin since BC so I’m pretty stoked about the artifact weapons like the Ashbringer, but I’m especially excited about Truthguard and the lore it brings regarding Tyr and the titanic watchers

There is so much to look forward to in Legion. Artifact weapons, the new dungeons, the class lore and the new Diablo inspired transmog system.

What im looking for legion , its feel the experience of being everything new like , talents , the new artifact weapon questlines every one of them , new zones , NEW LORE . One of the things that really make me love wow  was the lore , the story telling of every expansion the quests , the history behind every raid. Just like every new expansion its really funny at the start , but at the end lacks of content or what you can do in the game , so far the legion expansion looks like you will have a lot of stuff to do  , leveling your artifact weapons , unlocking skins with prestige , with reputation . Now feels like what you do now on legion its going to be rewarding , every hour your spend on legion will be a reward and thats the goal of a MMO and i feel like legion will provide everything looks promising and im really hype of everything

When i started with wow somewhere in late vanilla my first character was a night elf druid, i was so young that i didn't understand English yet (I'm from Sweden). But i just fell in love with exploring the game and with the new expansion Legion i can't wait to see pretty much everything. My fondest memory of wow is just running around and exploring and i hope i can some what relive that in legion, the land seems so beautiful from just some screenshots I've seen

Well, I'm looking forward to the more fantasy-based classes in wow, although, I feel a bit concerned as to homogenization that has been going on for a while. One of my fondest memories in WoW was definitely the one where I first killed that Nightmare Dragon in Duskwood back in Vanilla. My hearth was pounding so fast, and that has got me interested in endgame

I want to start raiding again, but its hard at the end of the expansion to close the gap. Most good guilds want the legendary ring.

I want a fresh start with legion and hopefully good raids :)

I wish to join the legion alpha just to see how the mages are to be changed. Be it from frost, arcane or even fire? All will hold a great new and exciting gameplay within legion. Especialy with the rogue changes (the official mage counterclass?)

Long time reader of your guides, thanks for all the amazing content and making me better at the game, thought I'd make an acocunt to try and snag myself a beta invite (cheeky as it sounds.) My favourite part of Legion so far is the changes to classes and the focus on Class fantasy, I've played Warrior my entire time playing WoW and have played practically every single race through race/faction changes etc. for the longest time I've not really felt like as a Warrior we had a class fantasy in the same way as a class such as a Warlock did, as there was such a wide scope of reasons as why a character would be a warrior and the different types of warriors so I'm excited to see how Blizzard handles this. Also I went to my first ever Blizzcon last year and was lucky enough to get to play on the Demon hunter which I'm not 100% sure will be my new main (switching characters for the first time ever eek.) so I'm very excited about trying it out and learning to play one for raiding. My fondest memories in WoW have also translated into my real life as well through the friends I've met through guilds and raiding which have gone on to be my friends outside of the game aswell

My fondest memories of World of Warcraft dates back to classic. Was play with a friend, first time either of us had tried this game genre. We were just below level 20 and I had been leveling tailoring, just hitting the wool requirement. Neither of us knew where to get wool, so we started to kill sheep critters en masse. When we finally figured it out we couldn't stop laughing. Same friend, now in our 30's, flying from Ironforge to Stormwind, passing over Alter of Storms in Burning Steppes. What was that? We had to find out. Running and dying for 30 odd minutes just to find nothing interesting there. Doing the Benediction staff questline on my priest. Opening the Gates of Ahn'Qiraj on Magtheridon server, farming 1500 copper per day, every day of the week, for the event. Regarding Legion, there're many things I look forward to.The visual improvements to the game. Seen most of the new animations in videos, they look great. The new PVP talents and the prestige levels.New UI improvements, going to save a lot of space in my banks.More emphasis on classes. - Karmamuscle

Sure, we can probally all agree that artifact weapons are great. Who doesn't like to use weapons of great and ancient power to destroy their foes? And who didn't wish to play a demon hunter? But in my opinion some of the feature nearly nobody talks about are the smaller ones. Namely, one example would be the new meele animations and spell effects. I never could play meele classes because they looked . well, I guess they looked ''meh''. Sure, they do damage and can tank and stuff but where is the eye candy? Swing your sound, you do damage. Now it actually feels like I am swinging a mighty weapon and not like some sort of animation>damage cycle.Same with the spell effects. Let's face it, although some of the classes looked quite impressive *cough*druids*cough*warlocks other casters didn't really have that ''I could tear you apart only using my brain '' feelings. Just look at the mage. If I hear ''fireball'' I exspect something that is stronger than like the one we currently have.Legion on the other hand managed to make fireball - and fire in general - look great. It feels like I am an actual fire mage, not some sort of party clown conjurer magey thingy.

Looking so much forward to play the Demon Hunter class. I'm also roleplaying one right now on Argent Dawn EU, so I can't wait for it's visuals and more lore for it as well and the gameplay as well. Also, congratulations on your five year-anniversary.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
