Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

There's actually a ton I'm excited for. I know it's a controversial one, but I'm excited for the world drop legendaries if they stay in the game. I'm also excited for the demonology warlock changes. I'm hoping the professions take a step backward from WoD and become a bit more relevant again, especially the gathering professions. I felt like some professions ended up useless, like jewelcrafting when items no longer roll guaranteed sockets

Happy 5th anniversary. What I'm most looking forward to in Legion would have to be the demon hunter. As a long time Illidan fan and a long time player of agility classes I am very much looking forward to maining the DH come the new expansion. As for my favorite memory it has to be when I first bought the world of Warcraft battle chest and started leveling with my friend way back in 2008. I wanted to be a draenei warrior and he a night elf priest, and I can remember having to run from Azuremyst to the boat and sailing across the sea to get to Darnassus, the world felt so massive. I knew then that my adventures in Azeroth would be plentiful and 8 years later I sure wasn't wrong.

I've been reading news posted here for a long time but this is actually my first comment on a post. "Hell, it's about time."Before I start, I wanted to thank you guys for the awesome content. I read every post about Heroes of the Storm, my main game at the moment, and I've stayed updated on WoW and HS as well. Thanks a lot from a former anonymous reader.I am so excited for Legion. I used to play a lot of WoW during Vanilla, Burning Crusade and Lich King, and even since I stopped playing I have remained very passionate about the lore, and followed Deathwing's resurgence and Garrosh's fall from afar.My bets memories are related to PvE. I loved cleaning Blackwing's Lair and Naxxramas in Vanilla, and especially Black Temple in Burning Crusade. My first encounter with Illidan in the Black Temple was the peak of my PvE career. The whole dungeon was so full of details, and I had waited for almost 10,000 years for Maiev's revenge. That moment was epic.Naturally, seeing him again in Legion will be a big moment for me. I am very curious as to how things will turn out. Still, it is not Illidan but Sylvanas that I will follow very closely during Legion. Her appearance in the cinematic left me with the feeling she is going to play a big part in the events in Legion. Can't wait to see what other people think.

My favortie WoW memories has to be working through the BC 5mans with my guild.  They were challenging and a blast to work through with 4 other buddies on voice chat. That being said, Im most looking forward to the new Challenge Mode system in Legion. It promises to bring back that difficult 5 man experience, and I cant wait to blow an evening working through some of them with my guildies

I have a hard time deciding between two features and choose which one I'm most looking forward to. One is definitely the new (non-)daily quest system. I love the idea to break out from the unflexible rinse and repeat, and give it all a new and fresh approach. I hope it will be exciting to always have some variation and choice and most importantly, we will finally be less instanced and more into the wild again (ironically, *mumbles savage stuff* ).The other one are the reworked classes. I've always been a fan of WoW's class designs and I can't wait trying (and hopefully beta testing) them all out as soon as I can. I think I'll give this one my number 1. As for my fondest memories, there's many. But I think it's most important to mention that I seem to be a very rare player type, because while I've liked every single expansion for what it has been (and also not least for what it wanted to be), I have enjoyed and thoroughly liked every new expansion more than the previous one (with Warlords being a little exception to the rule here). So in spite of the fact that mother nostalgia wants us to rule out any other opinion, I must say that my heart is still in Pandaria, reminiscing about the sublimity and the wisdom the Pandaren wanted to pass on to us and how in the end we failed to learn ANYTHING from their teachings. The moment when Chen smiles at the end of MoP's cinematic to me expresses everything there is to that fantastic continent and the philosophy it and it's long shrouded exotic inhabitants obtained through the sacrifice of their emperor. I can't wait to see if Velen's visions of Anduin will turn out to be true. Legion's cinematics looked very promising in that regard.Thank you for this great giveaway and the chance to win a beta key

For me, Legion is a little throwback to TBC. I love playing hunter and I know that we'll have a lot of changes in Legion; I want to try them :D

Also, the other classes make me want to play Legion. The story is quite interesting because Illidan is returning back. The PvP changes are quite good, I can't wait to try them, the Artifacts are something new that Blizzard brings to the Warcraft universe and well... the new class, Demon Hunter, is what I've always wanted to play. I love PvE and the dungeons and the raids that are going to be playable are lovely.

I think that Legion is going to be a big change for World of Warcraft because bringing back Illidan means bringing back the old, vanilla, TBC players that don't play now anymore.

I am looking forward to play Legion as I love all the stuff Blizzard is going to bring to us!

I'm super excited to get my hands on some of the new class changes. Some of them seem to have suffered a bit, but a bunch of specs like Arms Warriors and Demo Locks look so much fun now that Blizzard is focusing on the core fantasy of the class more. My favorite WoW memory was questing in Vash'jir with two friends I recently got to try the game. While we were questing one of them suddenly asked "What the hell is that?.", and I turned around to see he had spotted the Whale Shark. I told them what it was and not to mess with it, and my other friend decided to swim up and hit it, but right before he got in range it suddenly turned to face him and he screamed, after which we all laughed about it for minutes

I'm an old WoW veteran (farmed up to 25 Lich King Heroic back in WotLK) but just haven't had the time to play WoW anymore because of many real life issues. I'm also a lore lover and I adore WoW's awesome lore. Legion is bound to bring a great deal of lore (here's hoping Sargeras himself will show up) as well as really nice encounters and new mechanics. Maybe I will even still have old friends from back then with whom I'll instance and PvE a bit. That was the best, 5-man running instances telling jokes all the bloody time. Cheers for old Defias Brotherhood-EU Revelations if anyone's reading.

I signed up JUST to post in this thread, but I've been using Icy Veins for Spec/Glyph/Rotation advice for quite awhile. Your guides are so simple and straight to the point. I'm excited about Legion because it's the first xpac I'll actually be able to start playing on the release date. I have played on and off for nearly a decade, but always managed to be around at least 6 months after a new release.  I think I'm most excited about Legion because of GNOME HUNTERS. I currently have a Dranei but I've always wanted a gnome hunter.

In Legion I'm looking forward to getting my hands on the Demon Hunter. Of course, I'm sure a great many people will say that considering it's a brand new thing but I've been wanting Warlock tanks since they started playing with the idea in Vanilla. Now I imagine that Demon Hunters are likely to be as close as I get to this... that said the class does look amazingly fun.

As far as my favorite time I've ever had in WoW and what I enjoyed before, I could cover a lot. I think the best part of it though is the friends I've made along the way. I'm still in regular contact with a couple people I met all the way back in Vanilla. Besides that with all the different MMO's I've played I think WoW also has some of the best raid content in any of them.

There are a lot if things I am looking forward to in Legion, but one of the best things for me is that you get another chance to kick Illidans Ass.His first appearence in WOW was a littlebit disappointing, now Blizzard takes a second chance to give him a propper Place in WOW History

Favorite moment in WoW of all time was when me and my guild back in WOTLK took down Putricide in ICC, it was a huge accomplishment and a great time. I cant wait for WoW Legion I've been waiting for the legion to return since BC ended and have ALWAYS wanted to play a demon hunter. The animations to the classes look so interesting and I cant wait to test them all out.

Three words: Dual-Wield Frostmourne. Cannot wait to slay some demons.  In WoTLK, slaying undead was amazing. slaying demons with the infamous blade is going to be glorious, cannot wait.

I'm eager to get my hands on the new mistweaver monk. Started maining mine part way through HFC and I have to say it's the most enjoyable class I've ever raided with.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
