Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I cannot wait for the revamped PvP system. The artifact weapons are a cool idea, but we'll just have to wait and see how they play out. I do really like how they're giving back some flavor to each individual class and spec. Another high point of Legion will definitely be all my friends and guild mates coming back to check it out. The start of expansions are always the best IMO, and hopefully Legion's will be one of the best to date

I'm really looking forward to all the pvp changes, I've allways been casual in regards to rated pvp, but with the way Legion is shaping up I'm feeling like really pushing for rating. One of the changes that excites me the most is how they are splitting the end of season rewards to the top % within your own faction, so now there are bound to be many more horde players to queue up with

I'm really stoked for legion! I think the artifact weapons are awesome, and it will feel really good to not have to worry about my weapon (I have yet to acquire a viable weapon this entire expansion). I think the idea of having a class hall is also a cool idea - but I hope it doesn't become like garrisons all over again. Thus far, my favorite moment in WoW was my first mythic kill. It was actually a kromog kill, and I was a trial in my first ever mythic raiding guild. I had never been so stoked while raiding, and since I made it through alive (with about half the rest of the raid dead), I passed my trial that night.

Greetings and Hello.

Going up on my personal ten year WoW anniversary this fall with 7 years of those spent being mainly a Holy Priest. After struggling as the underdog for almost half a decade and being the object of patronizing mockery among healerkind for much of Warlords I can maybe, finally, see the light (pun intended) at the end of this dark tunnel with Legion. The prospect of being on equal footing with my twisted Discipline "buddies" has me by far the most excited out of all the content so far announced.

Regardless whether or not Legion will be our time to shine as Holy Priests I am still very much hyped up for the Transmog/Wardrobe changes (bag space yay!), the continuation and perhaps the culmination of the MoP > WoD > Legion story arch and perhaps most of all the addition of much new pet related content. Being an avid pet collector with 700 something maxed out and rareified snugglebuddies I´m still holding out hope for a datamined mini Pit Lord in the coming months. make it happen Blizzy.

Thank you for this giveaway Icy Veins and your continued work with all things WoW related. See ya on the Broken Shore and in another five years.

Toodles!

I believe going forward, WoW would continue on it's path to attract more casual players and try to make it more accessible. Currently they're trying to reboot the franchise by kind of retelling the story from start to finish again with the famous characters. This way new players would understand the lore and old players will still continue to play for nostalgia feelings. I strongly believe WoW would continue to dominate the MMORPG genre and keep alive for several years from now. I started playing back in 2012 with Dragon Soul being the end content. Didn't play super serious but enjoyed the game a lot. In MoP I started looking for serious guilds and started raiding the hardest content in game. I found really great and fun friends and the raiding night were never a chore. I had lots of free times to chat around and have fun in guild chat and still continue to progress through content. I would never forget the visually stunning feel of Mists and the fun friends and moments I keep from that time. With life keeping up with me and being busy with work and studies I unfortunately never got to find a suitable guild for myself and never found the same feeling in wod.  Legion would be the make it or break it for lots of Old players. Lots of nostalgia factors and great promises. If it turns out to be the exp they're hyping it up to be, I'm sure it would be one of the greatest expansion wow would ever see. Artifact weapons, Rift Dungeons, Scaling content, Balanced PVP and . I, myself am Looking forward to artifact weapons and visual aspect of the game, end game content and pvp. I pre-ordered and activated the game a week after it was available for purchase and really would like to see hands-on how it feels.  Thank you all,Amirhossein

Legion is my third expansion I can truly experience, and that directly connects to what I recall from WoW the most. Since WotLK I've always played a prior expansion to accual content because a boxed-game and a prepaid were all I could afford for one year in my teens. Then MoP came out, and I've finally saved money to play full time, so I've leveled my char, read all about my class, trained like crazy world class raider, then joined a 5.4-struggling guild, and after many raids pushed whole guild to its maximum, and became a natural leader. And the day when we killed Garrosh came after so many wiped and tries.

This magnificent experience is what I'm looking for in Legion. I want this social aspect back like to see my mates gathered before a raid like we used to do in a shrine, see all those geared and struggling people in one place, greet fellow raiders from other guilds, feel like this community all thogether has something to achieve in Azeroth.

I love what Blizz is trying to do with this whole class identity thing that you just go out there and get some cool weapons then go back to your base of operations, even though it makes the game a little more single player i really don´t care if it involves some sweet lore behind it P.S: I don´t remember the first time i played WoW and that´s because i was a little child back in 2004 and only played again in 2010 during cata so technically i´m veteran player form vanilla times:)

Looking forward to Legion.  I plan on starting off with my rogue and then shadow priest if I can resist the Demon Hunter.

I am REALLY looking forward to more class distinction in Legion.  I feel that ever since Wrath, the Shaman class in particular has been getting more and more watered down and I'm finding that more and more the difference between playing an Enhancement Shaman and a rogue, or an Elemental Shaman and a Mage are coming down to buttons you push.  There was a time when the class lent utility to a raid, where gameplay and class style had flavor and I'm hoping we'll see a return to that in Legion. As far as favorite moments, there are so many.  The first time my vanilla guild ran Mara, after we downed Princess I gave everyone Water Walking and we ran around on the lake for a bit before jumping off the waterfall.  Never occurred to us, of course, that with Water Walking the pool at the bottom would be like concrete and I wiped us all.  The profound joy of my first epic drop.  The first time I saw the failed world tree in Grizzly Hills.  Exploring forbidden places like Mt. Hyjal pre-Cata and the Kara Crypts.  The Ahn'Qiraj opening questline and server event showing us all the true meaning of massively multiplayer.  I'm really psyched to see what Legion's going to bring us.

I've been lurking on this website for a very long time and of course the giveaway finally got me to register. The artifact weapon system is a double-edged sword in my opinion. It's going to remove the thrill of getting that new weapon. Luckily, they progress as well and they don't leave you with that "crappy heirloom" feeling. I have to judge it for myself before I form a real opinion on the matter

I most looking forward to the new professions systems. I enjoy making gold and am hoping that we will get back in depth professions like in the early wow days. I'm most looking forward to prospecting being brought back and hopefully moving away from the WOD daily cool down system.

As with every expansion before it, I'm particularly looking forward to the lore in Legion. Illidari, artifacts, the Naga, the ancient capital, the Emerald Dream. I can't wait to read more about all those things

I've been playing the some Shadow Priest for 10 years, and have never ben more excited for my class than I am now for the chenges in Legion. I absolutely cannot wait to test out the new abillities, especially Void Form. The artifact wepon system is also something I am extremely anxious to test out. The story for Legion is also a major point of excitement, as Guldan has always ben one of my favrite characters, and I can't wait to learn howa the story with the Burning Legion plays out.

Things I've loved about World of Warcraft from the past are al things Shadow Priest related, and anyting lore related. The lore in the War craft universa is so deep and rich, I can spend hours reading about the history of the diferent races and characters, and love exploring the places I game that I've reading about. I most enjoy the expnsions and raids that deal specifically with evants tied to the original Warcraft games.

After playing since Vanilla, the game has gotten to be more of a race to max level, grinding and then alting. I look forward to spending more time with my monk and warlock and maybe being rid of my alt addiction, at least for a little while

the most exciting thing for me in legion is the demon hunter and the new pvp system which kind of brings bgs back to life unlike now when you want to play bgs but feel like its not rewarding since you have all the blue gear and what i miss and made me excited about the new pvp system is the old vanilla pvp when you would join bgs all day long and still feel like you are being rewarded in the end.

I love playing enhacement shaman, the change of their resource seems interesting.

I'm also looking forward to the changes of the healing specs.

Along with that I'm excited for the lore, the pve and the artifact weapons. The pvp changes also look nice, but pvp was never really my thing, as I wasn't ever good at it.

I started playing in Wrath with my friends, I hope Legion can bring back some of the awesomeness I experienced during those times.

What I hope on Legion:

  1. more interesting daily quest, don't like keep repeating the same quest.
  2. more quest to do if don't want to do raid.
  3. epic raid gear reward from doing quest outside of raid.
  4. detail strategy of every raid in dungeon journal.
  5. show what the raiders need to do in LFR, don't like raider just phew phew.
  6. show rotation (like most ppl use weakauras to show rotation) of every class for beginner. Can be disable. This will help players to maximize their output.
  7. integrate boss mod in WoW, players don't need to install any boss mod.
  8. show raid progression of a raider in looking for raid.
  9. make some places in legion very nice like most places in Pandaria. Tanaan Jungle in WoD is so disgusting.
  10. Please revert the change of Mistweaver! Mistweaver should be fistweaver, Dps to heal.

My good memories in WoW:

  1. I started playing WoW during end of Cata, joining a casual guild which did not perform well, so my brother decided to create a new guild (Metamorphose in Eldre-Thalas) during MoP until now. We raid together until now. Most players in our guild are busy in daily, many works to do, but we still can raid at least a time per week. We can still do heroic raid (during MoP) and mythic raid (during WoD). We love each other and support each other.
  2. During end of MoP, I started to learn to develop addon. I started by modifying addon. In WoD, I make a new addon namely O Item level. When I see many players using my addon in raid, I am very happy. Thank to those who help me develop the addon.

The reason I want the beta key:

I am addon developer (O Item level). It will help me a lot if I get the beta key of Legion so that my addon can live as soon as Legion live. Thank you very much.

In Legion, I am most looking forward to the way holy priests are being tweaked. It seems to be just what they need to be competitive in a healing meta environment. I hope the class ends up being at the level it was in Cataclysm.  The moment that sticks out in my mind as being my favorite moment in WoW isn't actually game play related. It has to do with all of the wonderful people I have met over the years. I still keep in contact with friends I met in BC, when I began playing. The amount you can have in common with people that live thousands of miles away from you is really quite amazing. Of course, if I had to pick a favorite game play moment, it would probably be killing Illidan or Kil'Jaeden. So many hours spent learning those bosses and perfecting the strats.

I'm looking forward for a reworked classes, especially Rogue!

New PvP system looks nice too, maybe it's time to start PvP, not only PvE.

In addition I hope there will be more options to buy for gold (like time token). :)

I can't wait for Legion, but I hope it goes better than the last launch. I would like to see a return to more complex talent trees. But the new weapon system looks good. Ive played Wow a long time, so I'm really hoping this is a good expansion.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
