Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I am looking forward to the artifact weapon system and all the new class changes and I cant wait to try.

I most memorable experience in WoW was the release of Burning Crusade and the frenzy of leveling and seeing people on flying mounts for the first time....and finally downing Gurtogg Bloodboil after 1 month of wiping :D.

I have been looking forward to the Burning Legion returning since BC. Cata through WoD has left me a little disappointed in WoW because it's just too easy, but with Legion I feel that I may enjoy the game again. Demon Hunters, new lands to explore, CHALLENGE MODE DUNGEONS (very excited about them), scalable dungeons and levelling zones, and getting to kick arse with Artifact weapons (Doomhammer ftw :D) is going to be awesome. All in all, I am really looking forward to Legion.

As for my fondest memory of the game? Meeting all the people and making the friends I have in the last 11 years would have to be it by far.

BC was by far my favorite era in WoW's lifespan.  The raiding experience was awesome in comparison to anything else out there at the time, and the culmination of the expansion in killing Illidan was extremely satisfying (let's ignore sunwell!).  I'm hoping to see him again in Legion!  Increased raid encounter complexity, raid-level difficulty in 5 man challenge mode content, and being able to dabble in PvP without being massively handicapped by PvE gear all sound great too!

What I'm most exited about Legion would be all the changes that are being done to hunters and even more so the brand new PvP Battlegrounds and World PvP Zone. If they are out yet, someone has to test them. If not, I'm ready and willing to get my hands bloody.

Look forward to the new PvP arenas and going back to Outland. Also loved the new animations for moves etc. that I have seen in some Alpha clips. Can't wait to check out Demon Hunter aswell! Double Jump FTW!

As silly as this may seem to some, the thing I am most excited for in Legion is being a gnome hunter. Gnomes have always been my favorite race but I've always been torn since hunters have been a favorite of mine as well. Now I can have the best of both worlds! Plus I am really excited for the changes to beast mastery. I've always liked the fantasy of it. My pet has always been important as a BM hunter which I've liked and now it is even more emphasized.

I'm most looking forward to the story line.  The class changes are looking very interesting, as are a lot of the mechanic changes, but I've always been a lore hound and the story is what keeps me playing this game.  Cannot wait!!

I am really excited for the demon hunter class in Legion, new pvp system, artifact weapons, also the appearance of Tyralyon and Alleria. I've been dieing to know what happened to them!

I've started playing wow on 2005 and my first class was a hunter. I was excited that hunter could combine both melee and ranged weapons. Now that survivals are going to become melee i will be sure to play on my hunter again! On Wotlk i 've rerolled on Death Knight which is now my main class. I like classes that use the power of the enemies against them. The only thing that i wish for though is the old talent trees!

Love the site as a resource but new to the forums.

I am anxious to try out just about every class and spec but I'm especially excited about the new Frost Mage. I enjoyed the WoD style of play but the annoying pet aspect always kept me from maining Frost. So glad Blizzard is giving us a choice now and I hope it sticks. Now if they will just make it easy to switch specs I will be living the dream.

The thing I'm looking forward the most, is certainly the return of my favorite character, Illidan Stormrage! He was such a crucial character in the story of Warcraft 3: The Frozen Throne and, then, of course, in Burning Crusade. I'm so glad to have him back, and not only that, but also a chance to be like him: with the introduction of Demon Hunter class!! Words can not express my excitement for dual wielding warglaives, hop around and shoot beams from my eyes!

In Legion, I am mostly looking forward to the return of Illidan Stormrage and all of the class changes. I've watched BellularGaming's beta videos and the content looked pretty awesome. I'm not a big fan of Warlords of Draenor, and that's why I stopped playing. But when I saw the trailer for Legion, I thought, "Holy moly. That's going to be a lot of fun."

A memory I had while playing WoW would have to be all of the World PvP I did with my guild. We used to have lots of bloodbaths with rival guilds and random groups. World PvP was very hot on my server (Darkspear) during Mists of Pandaria, but then it declined when Warlords came. But as a rogue, you bet your bottom dollar it was the best experience ever to do any form of PvP.

Hello!

I used to play WoW about 5 or so years ago (I stopped playing during Burning Crusade). I was young and my addictive personality took over. Before I knew it, I had dropped out of school, lost my job, and then my apartment. Was that WoW's fault? Nah. That was me just using WoW as an excuse.

Fast forward to now, I'm much older and wiser, happily married with a career and can better balance gaming and real life. So with all of that being said, let me now say I'm excited for Legion! I missed out on so much it seems, with Wrath of the Lich King and Mists of Pandaria. I'm thrilled with Warlords of Draenor and look forward to staying the course and being a part of the community when Legion is released.

Personally, I'm excited about Demon Hunter class, a new class is always fun. But I'm REALLY all about the artifact weapons and the new skills for current class specs. The main reason I came back to playing WoW is the Shaman class. Blizzard just has the best Shaman class period. And I say Blizzard because I just don't mean the WoW Shaman, but the Witchdoctor in Diablo 3 is pretty awesome Shamanistic-ally speaking. I was kind of saddened to see the necessity of totems somewhat nerfed for Shamans when I came back, seeing as totems are such an integral part of the Shamans skill set and lore. After reading some posts on Icy-Veins, I think totems will be back in effect with Legion and I can't wait.

Thanks for reading my long rambling post! Oh, by the way, my favorite WoW memory was watching the original "Leroy Jenkins" happen. LOL LOL LOL I remember everybody talking about it in Barrens chat. Oh boy, the good old days. See you in Azeroth!

:D

I'm really looking forward to the PvP changes in Legion.

I've always loved PvP but never was able to participate in it competitively because I never had the time nor the friends to grind for the gear.

I hope that the new PvP changes will allow more casual and people with limited time to enjoy PvP as they would with any other competitive game (Counter Strike, Dota, ext).
I know you have to invest a lot of time to compete in these games but you don't need a prerequisite to play in ranked matches. I can play a few matches a day and then try and boost my rank on weekends to learn and get better, where as with WoW it seemed like I was on the grind wheel for ever even before going into a simple Arena.

I'm hoping that there will no longer be one team owning the other because of that one guy that has full maxed PvP gear and instead everyone can just hop into a game and compete based on strategy and skill.

I know this will turn some people away who liked the gear grind in PvP but I like how Blizzard is making compromises and instead of stat gear allow those players to earn Prestige status and other bonuses for people who want to show how good they are at PvP.

Writing this has made me really excited for Legion and maybe I'll resub to the current game to get some nostalgia back.

While excited for Legion release I'm still concerned about our ability to level up the second or third legendary weapon. My biggest fear is being locked into a spec that might not be viable in the end game. I'm sure they'll iron out all the little things between now and release until then I'm going to sit back and relax on the hype train.

I am really looking forward to see new drinks especially the alcoholic ones :D and the effect of them... and certainly all new aspects of the game because I am playing for more then 4 years with short breaks and game is still getting worse in my opinion and Legion is my hope to revert that :)

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
