Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I am a new WoW player and super excited for Legion! The demon hunter class looks like it will be the best one yet and am super exicted to play it. The glide feature looks like a ton of fun. I hope I get the chance to play it early through a beta invite. Grats to the soon to be winners and I'll see you guys on release!

As someone who loves the lore aspects of WoW, and the NPC interactions, that's high on my list of things looking forward to. I love the idea of Artifact weapons, but i feel like it's not as special with everyone running around with them.

I love to see the dynamics of Azeroth change, the political and environmental upheavals.

I'm glad that Order Halls vary from a Garrison system that felt forced and "like another daily". I'm excite to see how it unfolds.

That's why Legion is must-play for me.

I've always enjoyed playing new tanks, so for me in legion it's going to be the vengeance demon hunter start and then getting to grips with all the changes to the various other tanks and spending months deciding which to play.

I loved learning the 3 tanking DK specs in Wrath and Brewmaster in mist.

I'm hoping the new PvP and talent system will allow for more unique takes on class specs in Legion. I like to see when people go outside the box creating a variation of a spec that hasn't become the cookie cutter. Prot War PvP better continue its viability. Also congrats on 5 Years Icy Veins.

I'm really looking forward to the 5 man content. New dungeons and the re-designed challange mode.

As far as good memories go, firsf getting to Dalaran in Wrath. Never had I seen so many players before. My PC could hardly handle it and it was more like a slideshow. Great none the less.

As someone who loved MoP and really was not happy at all with WoD, I actually am really looking forward to Legion.  I love that we are getting a bunch of Night Elf related lore, especially with them being neglected for awhile.  the Artifact system looks great, and a nice way to keep us busy for awhile.

That is all well and good, but I have one big reason to be excited.  New Moonkin models!  I have played Balance since BC, was stuck as Resto before that, and absolutely love being able to shapeshift into a powerful Moonkin.  Sadly, as the years have gone by, the model has really begun to show its wear, even with the minor tweaks like being able to mount in Moonkin form.  Legion is bringing us a really nice redone Moonkin model, and being able to use the Scythe of Elune, an extremely lore important weapon, is icing on the cake.

I'm most looking forward to playing the new version of Shadow Priest and picking between Priests and Death Knights, most memorable moment is my first ever mythic kill.

One of the best parts about world of warcraft is the huge world blizzard has put together over the past years. The best memory of Wow that I have is during vanilla, my brother was going on and on about wow and he sat me down and had me make a random orc. My brother then told me go north (I had no idea what he was up to) as I was on a shit computer I just continued running north as the fog of war (bad draw distance) cleared up to reviel the giant wall of orgrimmer. As I walked through the doorway that iconic drum beat started. I fell in love with the world at that moment. Ever sence then, every expansion I have loved running around randomly looking at this world blizzard has made. Blizz might have there ups and downs with quests, dungeons, raids, endgame but the actual world they have made is always better then the last and I am looking to see that the world of legion will look like.

I can't wait to obtain the artifact on my mage (especially the 6th skin!). Some characters I really like are getting their stories developed and I want to see how it goes. I must try the new PvP system, with all this cool new gear and whatnot. And of course there will be a new pet tournament wink.png All in all, I'm really excited.

My fondest moment in WoW history has to be completing the storyline of Bloodmyst Isle. I remember the uneasy atmosphere you could feel there. I copleted the last quest alone (which was a group quest back then), had slain the female Eredar and then were greeted by every significant NPC from draenei quests. Even Velen showed up. I got a tabard and felt really important. It might not seem much, but back then it was really awesome.happy.png

Hey there, I really want to try out the new dungeons in Legion. Let's hope that it will not be a total disaster like WOD. The Eye of Azshara will be an awesome dungeeeeeeoooonn!!!! On the other hand the class order halls are nicely done ( Blizz don't let us down again just like the Garrisons...). Finally the artifacts... ( meh... fingers crossed to work) and the new PVP system (Hell yeah!!!).

I first started playing World of Warcraft with the release of WotLK. For months I would visit my brother and find him playing Warcraft during BC prior to the WotLK release, and it was there I 1st learned of the Death Knight being added with its expansion, etc. The lore, gameplay and the dream bubble that formed over my head every time I saw the game being played or talked about was the final straw. With the amount of dreaming I did about Warcraft before even making an account sealed the deal my fait was written. So what am I looking most forward to Legion...the new Demon Hunter, the lore, plots and twists, exploration and being a noob again until I get to experience everything that is Legion and can get to that point where I can help others and answer some of their questions. Currently with every class maxed and having a little taste of all current classes I eagerly await my chance to experiencing and maxing my 1st Demon Hunter!  In essence...I am looking forward to it ALL!

Grats on the 5 years icy!  I'm an altaholic and this is where I check to see how a spec I'm new to plays and what stats to look for.

Two of my favorite memories happened during TBC.  The guild I was in had not got a new progression kill in 3 months and we lost most of the raid team.  Those of us that stuck it out rebuilt and finished T6 in a couple of weeks.  Then there was the night we killed Archimonde in Hyjal for the first time.  I hated all the screaming in my ears when a tough boss went down.  We got Archimonde down to 10% and people started to lose it and I just yelled for everyone to stfu.  It was the first time I really raised my voice at our raiders and someone made a recording of it and it became a joke on our forums.

I'm really hoping to get test the alpha/beta not only because enhance (my main) has had so many changes but to also see the lore of the zones so I don't feel torn between reading quests and getting to level cap to get geared for raids.  Also being able to leave feedback on the alpha forums would be nice instead of just being able to read them.

it has to be the pvp changes, which I think everyone would agree is going to make pvp absolutely nuts. I really cant wait to get into some bg's and just see everyone going crazy (i actually cant wait which is why i'm writing this), plus the dalaran sewers, which also looks like the kind of place that i would spend most of my time in

back in BC, i never managed to finish the black temple, which was one of the best wow raids ever, and so now illidans back, I think i owe him one.

I'm pretty hyped about Legion across the board, just to have new areas to explore and new quests to do. Gameplay-wise I'm really excited about the new transmog system, so much so I've been spending bonus rolls in HFC hoping for stuff that's not an upgrade, but looks cool. Will also be great to have some shake-ups among the major lore figures, including seeing more of Khadgar and Darion Mograine among others =)

In the past... well, lots of stuff, but I remember really loving Pandaria when we first got there. Spent a couple of days mostly riding around, exploring.

The new dungeons in Legion look amazing. The Arcway feels so epic, sprawling and generally less “on-rails” than dungeons in recent expansions have been. I can definitely appreciate a guided experience but some of my favorite memories in wow are getting lost in dungeons like Maraudon and Blackrock Depths, turning a corner and coming out into a giant moss covered cavern with huge waterfalls or a Dwarven stronghold deep inside a mountain.

My main has been a paladin since BC so I’m pretty stoked about the artifact weapons like the Ashbringer, but I’m especially excited about Truthguard and the lore it brings regarding Tyr and the titanic watchers.

I'm really excited for the three hunter's specs, especially Beast Master (and Hati).

I started playing WoW in WotLK, and one of my fondest memories was when I tamed Loque'nahak and Skoll on the same day

Well, I'm looking forward to the more fantasy-based classes in wow, although, I feel a bit concerned as to homogenization that has been going on for a while.

One of my fondest memories in WoW was definitely the one where I first killed that Nightmare Dragon in Duskwood back in Vanilla. My hearth was pounding so fast, and that has got me interested in endgame.

Long time reader of your guides, thanks for all the amazing content and making me better at the game, thought I'd make an acocunt to try and snag myself a beta invite (cheeky as it sounds!)

My favourite part of Legion so far is the changes to classes and the focus on Class fantasy, I've played Warrior my entire time playing WoW and have played practically every single race through race/faction changes etc. for the longest time I've not really felt like as a Warrior we had a class fantasy in the same way as a class such as a Warlock did, as there was such a wide scope of reasons as why a character would be a warrior and the different types of warriors so I'm excited to see how Blizzard handles this.

Also I went to my first ever Blizzcon last year and was lucky enough to get to play on the Demon hunter which I'm not 100% sure will be my new main (switching characters for the first time ever eek!) so I'm very excited about trying it out and learning to play one for raiding!

My fondest memories in WoW have also translated into my real life as well through the friends I've met through guilds and raiding which have gone on to be my friends outside of the game aswell!

Sure, we can probally all agree that artifact weapons are great. Who doesn't like to use weapons of great and ancient power to destroy their foes? And who didn't wish to play a demon hunter?

But in my opinion some of the feature nearly nobody talks about are the smaller ones.

Namely, one example would be the new meele animations and spell effects. I never could play meele classes because they looked ... well, I guess they looked ''meh''. Sure, they do damage and can tank and stuff but where is the eye candy? Swing your sound, you do damage. Now repeat. Now it actually feels like I am swinging a mighty weapon and not like some sort of animation>damage cycle.

Same with the spell effects. Let's face it, although some of the classes looked quite impressive *cough*druids*cough*warlocks other casters didn't really have that ''I could tear you apart only using my brain '' feelings. Just look at the mage. If I hear ''fireball'' I exspect something that is stronger than like the one we currently have.

Legion on the other hand managed to make fireball - and fire in general - look great! It feels like I am an actual fire mage, not some sort of party clown conjurer magey thingy.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
