Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I really can't wait for Legion. I'm looking for to wield doomhammer as an enhancement shaman! I'm also really hyped for the new raids, dungeons and quests, and the new transmogrification system. I have saved up so much gear for this purpose.

My best WoW moment was getting Mimirons Head from Ulduar. One of the most unique mounts ingame.

I'd have to say going to Legion what i'm looking forward to most would be trying all the new classes rotations and see how they feel, it's something I've liked to do for a while, just play multiple characters.

Going into legion from WoD i'm really hoping that they try to bring in more content for the daily player, All there seems to be in WoD right now is just doing your raids and logging in every once and a while to do your garrison missions.

As for my fondest memory in my WoW history, I would have to say it was when  I had joined a guild a little before the release of Trial of the Grand crusader. They were a new guild themselves and needed a tank, I had a little bit of experience from the past expansion and offered to tank for them the problem was that I was currently Retribution with poor gear. As I said the guild was new so we had A bunch of new players too, so what we did was we went through Naxx to start out and then to Uldaur It took about a month and a half for everyone to gear up. We then moved forward onto Trial of the crusader. This was a 25 man guild I had joined not to long ago and made a bunch of friends and geared out with and progressed with. I would have to say it was the most fun I've had with this game. Fun fact is i actually leveled up my alt with the guild leader in Nagrand A few months before I joined the guild and he ended up being one of my best friends too.

For Legion, I am most looking forward to several things:

1 - The new transmog system. I am currently working on Loremaster and there are SO MANY awesome pieces. I just have no place to put them all!

I have spent hours and hours on my own transmogs, so I am very sure that the new transmog system will engage my interest in a similar way.

2 - Legendary weapon storylines/lore - Mainly the Paladin and DK storylines for this.

3 - New dungeons and raids to run with my longtime guildies/raid group.

I'm looking forward to the continuation of the story, and artifact weapons.

My favorite past moment was putting an end to the lich kings frozen wrath :D

I am really looking forward to Demon Hunters and the new pvp honor system. Getting a chance to test it early and give feedback would be a really nice bonus

I am really excited for the new class Demon Hunter (I usually get excited for a new class to be introduced into the game), as well as the Artifact system, it seems really cool to have a weapon that progresses with your character in terms of strength. I enjoyed Cataclysm dungeons oddly enough, and I look forward to the new dungeons being added in Legion.  Also, happy 5th anniversary Icy Veins.

Can't wait for more Demon Hunter lore and the return of Illidan. I wonder how the bearer of the Skull of Gul'Dan from our world will take being awoken by a Gul'Dan from another dimension

What I'm looking forward to? Well, first of all, Enh Shaman which isn't a big cluster****! Haven't played melee in years and Hunter got me extremely bored in WoD, while looking just as boring in Legion sad.png Generally, class changes and the amount of work being put into them are awesome. Who knows, maybe my rogue or shadow priest will see some action, the choice is real for once!

Being a little xmog fashionista, the new system, while not being entirely what I expected, is something I just need. Have all bank slots (with 30 slots bags), void storage and some slots in my bags filled with xmog gear and I can't farm any more because I have nowhere to keep it.

Not big fan of artifact weapons, although alternative progression path and the epic-looking questlines do look great!

On that note I kinda miss being nameless adventurer from back in Vanilla, it had so much more feeling to it. Being a leader or part of some secret/well-known/holy/uholy organization is totally not my thing. If I want to be an anime character, I'll play RWBY or DMC tongue.png On that note, I really miss old leveling, up to TBC. Getting to 60/70 was rewarding as hell and I didn't care only about dinging, I had time to see the world, get to know the stories around it. I felt like Bilbo moving out on the adventure.

Really want to see how the improve Garrison mechanics in form of Order Halls. Will it be worth it? I fear that OrH will be soon deserted due to lack of bank/AH and because of not being personal spaces there will be no customization to be done sad.png

Hopefully catch-up mechanics will be more like in MoP and less like in WoD - random stats on Baleful gear suck! That being said, LFR could be a little bit more demanding, 'cos right now you just fall asleep while trying to gear your alt there :/ New Challenge modes should help, as you should be able to find similarly geared group and get some decent gear, from difficulties you've already beaten on main. It should also keep content relevant, something I've hated in MoP and WoD - old raids become irrelevant the moment next tier comes out, effectively killing most of raid content by the end of expansion.

Well, pre-nerfs they were really good and challenging dungeons smile.png Miss that a bit, hopefully new Challenge modes won't be all about rushing, but also some strategy smile.png

I've always liked druids and I love the new forms that are coming. Although I started as a resto druid until tree form changed, so I went balance, and whilst the new moonkin forms look better, it does seems a bit of a shame that all these awesome new forms are limited to feral and guardian druids. Although I admit I probably will roll a new druid with those specs to try them out. I appreciate a lot of work went into those forms and they look great, it just feels like the other specs are a little neglected atm.

I'm really look forward for the new shadow priest seeing that it is my main now, I love the insanity style of play and I i would love to be able to test it in beta, before Legion launches so that I can be fully prepared for raids/dungeons. The artifact weapons are also one of things that I'm most excited for, it brings a new element to the game that I think could be great for everyone. It's also very nice to not have to worry about obtaining your most important source of DPS, it's always annoying in raids when you can't get that one weapon to drop that would be a huge DPS increase. I think the artifact talents are very cool and add a great dynamic to the weapon and the weapon skins as well are a nice touch for the customization side of things.

I started playing during BC and I played a mage. The feeling of playing in this amazing world with so much to do sucked me right in. Raiding with 25 other people and working together as a team was the most fun that I had. I made life long friends that I still talk to on a regular basis and i wouldn't have it any other way. Black temple though was probably my favorite raid when i first stepped inside it was amazing, mobs running all over the place and then the first boss was crazy to me at the time lol, I loved every second of that raid and I miss those times.

Legion is going to be amazing thanks for doing this giveaway guys!

Legion will bring some amazing new zones, which I can't wait to explore. Also, I'm really interested in the disc priest changes -since that's been my main for a while- and how they will work in PvP. The new honor system might make me take competitive PvP more seriously and I am looking forward to check how it works and how far I can push myself for rewards. Last but not least, the new profession system looks very promising and I can't wait to try the different profession and their questlines as I proceed with my journey in Broken Isles

It's been a few years since I've played, so I'm really looking forward to all the updated character models, animations and basic QOL changes. I hope there aren't a bajillion "chore" dailies to do, haha. I love collecting mounts, exploring places and doing team activities. If I could have one thing in Legion, it would be more beautiful zones, like (imo) Teldrassil, Zangarmarsh or Shadowmoon Valley(haven't played this but I've seen lots of pictures!).

Fondest memory - this seems a little selfish but it's when my friend and I first got gladiator in S2. We were the only ones on our little server to do it but it felt like such an accomplishment to me. Doing challenges with friends is a great feeling.

Hey.

One of my best memories in WoW was finishing my Dragonwrath on my warlock after months of Firelands.

Loved patch 5.2 and the purge of Dalaran. And the awesome green fire quest.

I'm looking forward to legion expanding on the main story Sylvanas in Stormheim and other quests which I won't spoil, but am a little apprehensive about the button pruning as well as core parts of my spec being made into talents.

Thanks, Maleific. :)

I really look forward to the Artifact Weapons and specially the fury warrior Artifact and it seems like a good change to what we are used to in Wow and i think this will be one of the best expansions yet.

The best thing in Wow has been around Wrath and late BC because it had a lot of great content in those expansions.

Truely cannot wait for this expansion to come, ive played this game on off for 7 years and i hope that the promises that have been made about this expansion are realised and implamented to a standard which i can enjoy fully to the level i did in WOTLK and Cata. This game has been a large part of my life from being a boy to a young man. I'll be so happy if they can alter the game positively to a point where i would enjoy logging in as much as i did in Warcrafts earlyer years. feeling seriously positive about the changes that have been made, especially the PVP changes as this was a part of the game i cherished very much. best of luck to blizzard and i truly look forward to the launch of the most anticipated wow expansion yet. peace out - GGstack

I am personally not a massive WoW player. I've dabbled in Wrath, Cata, Pandaria and Draenor, raided around a bit, messed with some harder-to-get mounts, but never really jumped into the game as much as some have had the delight to do. This, mostly, was because I missed the boat by a long shot. (BC days long gone, huh.)

However, my dearest friend, who introduced me to WoW to begin with, has been playing for fucking forever, and he's insanely hyped for Legion. Artifacts, new lands to explore, old lands to explore, he wants to experience it all, and it would be an amazing opportunity and gift to be able to help him with experiencing this just a little bit earlier.

Sorry if this is against the rules, I read 'em all twice to make sure this was deemed acceptable. Thanks. <3

Really looking forward to seeing how the new Disc priest changes work out.

I started playing my priest in Wotlk having played a hunter back in vanilla and nothing much during TBC.

The artifact weapons look awesome too.

Where to begin huh?

For me, this expansion is the make or break. I've been playing WoW since it launched way back in 2004, I powered through Vanilla playing a Paladin, which I loved even in its useless state back then (if you wanted to do anything other than healing) and as the expansions kept coming I kept enjoying them. Even Cataclysm was enjoyable for me, especially when Blizzard released LFR and I absolutely loved Mists of Pandaria.

But Warlords of Draenor was the first expansion that made me question if I wanted to keep playing, it really did. The main sticking points for most people on the official general discussion forums didn't really bother me too much. I didn't mind not being able to fly, and I didn't mind that the Garrison was essentially the hub of activity. I even liked Ashran and Warspear / Stormshield. What really stuck with me wasn't all of that, it was the lack of content moving forward. Patch 6.1 was one of the huge hammers that really struck at my desire to play the game and for all it added, 6.2 didn't have a huge impact for me either.

I actually quit the game for a while.

Then Legion was announced. I saw it, I saw how open the team at Blizzard was being, I saw the information slowly trickle in and I went from being disinterested in WoW, to being curious and finally to resubbing with some friends to get back into the swing of things. I could see the passion that the development team had for their game and it was honestly rather infectious. Now I'm here, playing again and eager to see what Legion has to offer.

Are there things I am looking forward to? Sure are! The artifact system, despite my initial thoughts on the negative side, has shaped up to look like a rather well developed system of alternative progression. The idea of being able to go to any zone at any time, free of the traditional zone restrictions, is also a major plus for me. Same with the class order halls. I still play a Paladin to this day and finally having some significant Paladin lore after so long is nothing short of amazing. That alone is enough to get me interested in Legion.

So here I am, here to stay. I am looking forward to seeing what's going to be on offer for Legion. If I get a beta key, I'm going to do everything I can to give Blizzard the feedback it needs to help make Legion that much better. If not? I'll still enjoy it when I finally get my hands on it. Something tells me Blizzard has learned from the mistakes they made in Warlords, and I have faith that their passion for this game moving forward will revitalize the fan-base of WoW.

I am mostly looking forward to be able to play all specs, not just having to choose 2 of 3 (or even 4 on my druid). It always bothered me to be basically locked out of one third of the class or have to change specialisation, which isn't really viable. On top of that, I think the artifact weapons will help get you up to speed on your off-spec, since now it mostly felt like going back to 0 on your off-spec except if you crafted a lot and who can really do that early to mid expansion.

Looking forward to reading a lot of icy-veins guides for trying out many different specs! :)

Hello  I've been playing for about 8 years now, and I have to say what I've loved the most about WoW is the community. Blizzard has created some astounding content for sure, but no matter what aspect of the World of Warcraft you are participating in, whether you are laying siege to the Frozen Throne or locked in conflict in Warsong Gulch, you can always find a remarkable group of people to experience it with you. It's very difficult, but if I had to choose one aspect of Legion I'm looking forward to, it would be the class changes and the dynamic interaction of Abilities, Talents, and Artifact Weapons (as well as the new PvP talents) and the effects they have in regards to spec rotations and personal playstyles

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
