Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm stoked that the proper time was taken to really hammer out what looks to be an amazing addition to the franchise. In the little I've seen from the landscapes to the new models and animations, (not to mention the lore questions to be answered) this looks to be a winner! Elf lore brings me back to BC, which dropped shortly after I began! This can't come soon enough! Wait, yes it can, give us the ending to this Gul'dan chase that we deserve. Lok'tar.

I'm really excited about all content that is coming in game with this expansion.I began to play when the Burning crusade came out and I left the game after cata.I came back last summer and Draenor was not really a good expansion and made me a bit dissapointed .So maybe legion makes it better and I can return to play :) I really like the change they did in some classes also like the hunter or the rogue, and of course I want to try and create my own demon hunter :P

I am SUPER hyped to try the new Rogue spec, i know it may seem a little simple but i really like the theme and a lot of the new talents unique to it! I'm going to re-spec my Goblin Rogue to be an outlaw as soon as Legion comes out.

I'm also excited for the all the new lore opportunities I'm a big fan of the story of Warcraft and cant wait to see what Legion will bring.

I'm looking forward to the new Bear forms in legion with the artifact weapon claws of ursoc, it looks incredible. In the past? Probably the first time I leveled as a feral druid back in mid-late Burning Crusade. I just always remember entering a new zone and being amazed at the world around me. I kind of miss that feeling of being new and everything being so exciting.

I am looking forward to the return of Illidan and the new raids that look awesome! The new pvp system seems awesome as well.

One of my favorite moments in WoW would have to be helping my friends that are new to the game level and creating a guild with them!

Leeeeerooooyyy Jenkins!! I remember screaming this going into the Lich King boss fight after wiping 20+ times trying to conquer him and I haven't felt that excited about an expansion until now. My youth and my relationship with my uncle was based off of this game. WoW has given me more than I could ever ask for. Granted spending 15 dollars a month for the last decade when adding that up doesn't give me a great feeling lol. Nevertheless I wouldn't trade it for anything! Legion does kill one of my favorite lore characters of all time (Tirion Fordring) but I feel like that same little kid opening up burning crusade for the first time. Waiting for hours for a patch to download because I had dsl Internet. Blizzard has excited me again. Legion will be the expansion that saves WoW.

I'm really looking forward to swinging my Doomhammer. I seriously hope they will make a appearance more fitting for my Dwarf. Maybe something Dark-Iron related even? With the power of Ragnaros. Or a Wildhammer themed one with gryphon ornaments etc...

I am very excited to try out all the different artifacts and reworked classes. Especially druids since I am long time fan of druids. But one of the things that bothers me is the balance druid ability you get from their artifact new moon seems kinda weird. Would very much like to try it out for myself.

I honestly believe Legion could be a turn for the better specially, and mainly, due to the new PVP system. Also looking forward to new - and hopefully more full - class fantasy.

Fondest memory? Not really a single one, but we used to have a 10+ group of real life friends playing the game leveling together, doing arenas, raiding, goofin around and  all that good stuff. Now there's one besides me still playing from time to time. It's a time I'm sure I'll never reach again with the game, but it's the small bits and things I can still get joy from and makes me an on/off subscriber.

Stay away from da voodoo!

I can't wait for Legion to release, I've been playing WOW since 2005. I'm most looking forward to the new dungeon system with the dungeon difficulty upgrades, I feel as though dungeons have been overlooked in the last two expansions and it's a real shame as they were my favourite content in Vanilla.

My favourite WOW memory is definitely levelling with friends for the first time during The Burning Crusade, we were a group of six and raced to 70 and hardly slept, we then started one of the first 10 man raiding guilds on the server which was a really fun experience. Plus I was a hunter at the time and Beast Mastery was OP :P

I am excited for Legion, and I can't help but feel like the majority of that excitement stems from the Artifact Weapons and all the new combat animations.  As a perpetual solo-player, I feel like class customization and animations are going to add to my immersion a great deal, which is all I really spend time on now.

As my friends have long-since abandoned all MMOs, I don't really do group content anymore, so nothing else is likely going to even be seen by me, I'm sure.  Maybe I will branch out and try and join a guild or something this time, but I have a hard time getting invested in guilds.  They tend to gravitate toward raiding and I never really feel like I have enough time to do raiding.  Maybe I do and I just don't realize it.  I haven't raided since Wrath when I did 10-man ICC with a guild (poorly, but we finished eventually), so it's entirely possible that the 3-hours a night 3 times a week timeframe we were sticking to is not even accurate for normal raiding anymore.

I hear 5-man groups might have some more longevity, so I'm interested to see what becomes of them as far as being a valid method of progression.  Anyone care to enlighten me, or have any alpha experience on the matter?

Zug! Zug!

Hopefully, the prestige system will add a refreshing aspect for PVP.  I also helps this change brings some brothers back to the horde and balance out Q times. Lok'Tar!

Lastly, Class Halls sound way better than garrisons!

I look forward the most is the new pvp system.  From vanilla through wotlk I focused more on raiding than pvp, but since then that has changed.  I really like the level system in Diablo 3 and the new pvp system looks to go that same route.  I feel like now I max out the gear on one character and move on to another like I have hit a wall.  I hope this new system keeps me going with better rewards.

I also like how the difference in gear won't be that big in pvp, really helps new players/characters jump right in.

Thanks for doing the giveaway.

I am most excited for the prestige system in Legion.  Almost all of my friends have left WoW for various reasons and I just spam battlegrounds now to pass the time.  Having the new prestige system gives me more incentive to keep playing PvP (not much of an arena fan).  I like the idea of PvP talents and transmog items (artifact skins) as a form of PvP progression.

My fondest memory of WoW had to be back in the summer of 2009.  It was my guilds first kill (Zug Life - Cho'gall US) of Yogg-saron 25.  We were inching very close and I decided to make the switch from Resto Shaman to Ele Shaman.  This one change gave us just enough DPS to get the kill.  Felt amazing after a month of failing!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
