Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

The thing i'm looking forward to the most in Legion are the artifact weapons, I feel like it encourages people to play more classes and not stick to only one class.

I started playing WoW towards the beginning of Lich King so the most of my enjoyment would be from when I started raiding Naxx 25 and killed Lich King 25 with the same guild. WotLK was when I played the most so it brings back alot of memories whenever i venture back to Northrend. I feel like Dalaran will be a big dose of nostalgia for me as well.

I'm most looking forward to changes to survival. While I never tried to be a melee hunter in BC it was my favorite spec because of the melee utility

I think that World of Warcraft has been struggling with an identity crisis since Wrath of the Lich King. That's what happens when your game is a pop culture cornerstone that encompasses two very different generations of gamers. I've played through it all, and I have to say that Legion looks like it may be a return to form. The laser-focus on class fantasy is my favourite thing from the preview so far. I also like that the dev team is taking what makes Diablo 3 so replayable, and bringing that into this game. My fondest World of Warcraft memory? It was a noob moment from way back in the first year of Classic. My buddy and I picked up the game together. I started as a Human Warrior, and he started as a Night Elf Hunter (yes, he was a true Huntard). We imagined me travelling across the world of Azeroth to quest with him in the Night Elf homeland, and it being this big epic thing. I was going to be the lone Human in the Night Elf lands, a nomad warrior taking up the elven ways. We made a guild called Brotherhood of the Night and it was all Elves except my character. In retrospect that was all ridiculous, but awesomely imaginative none-the-less

I'm very excited for Legion. As a long time player and a (relatively) recent adopter of shadow priest life I've always found shadow to be a very enjoyable spec to play. The new changes coming feel like they'll breath new life into the spec and leave us with a much more fast pace play-style that will reward players that spend the time to get to know it. I'm also very fond of playing as many alts as I can manage in my spare time and so I'm always giddy at the thought of a whole new expansion's worth of content to sink my teeth into. Can't wait to see all the changes out there first hand!

Honestly it's difficult to share an opinion on Legion considering there's still so much yet to see, but colour me cautiously optimistic. I always get way too excited when Blizzard launch a new expansion. Anyway, the dungeons in Legion look stunning, and Challenge Modes look like something my friends and I may be able to tackle (we're nooooobs), so I'm excited.I'm most looking forward to the Demon Hunter though, by a stark mile. That class has been my white whale for as long as I can remember. You know that one guy who stands around in your capital city all day with Warglaives of Azzinoth and Cursed Vision equipped? Yup, that's me. That one guy running damage control for Demon Hunters on the WoW forums? Also me.Every time a new expansion was announced, I'd hype up the idea that DHs would be added to the game (and every time I'd be disappointed when they weren't, haha). I was convinced it would happen eventually, and I went through the same process with Legion, so you can imagine how stoked I was when Khadgar dropped the DH bomb at Gamescom

My personal favorite thing about Legion is how (at least so far) we are getting answers to age old questions such as 'What is under Tirisfal Glades?' The advancement of storylines and characters many of us thought were 'forgotten and left behind'. These shifts forward in the storyline alone are whats getting me excited for Legion, especially when linked with the Chronicle. Of course I am looking forward to so much more, Artifact Weapons/New Challenge Modes/Class Order Halls/Return of the Legion to Azeroth/and so much more

I am shocked that its only been 5 years, it seems that I used this site longer than that (just never made a account).

But for legion, I am more excited about the PvP changes and the new raids. The prestige system seems a nice addition and same with PvP talents.

There was a mention of the possibility of time walking raids. This, to me, would give people the chance to prove they have top level skills. Instead of just getting max DPS, Healing, and HP on tanks, there were many mechanics that required players to actually DO things in the raid or die, regardless of how maxed out their stats or gear were. Granted, there are lots of instances that require skills in the current expansion, but not nearly to the same extent.

My fondest memory dates back to the first time I got the chance to complete the Hunter quest in vanilla to get the Rhok'delar bow and staff. Completing all those quests and challenges was just the icing on the cake for my experience in this game. I loved it so much I practically sold my time for gold to complete the quests for other hunters who either couldn't or didn't want to bother. The melee challenge was the most fun and really provided a great challenge.

For me, Legion brings some of these memories right back in the artifact weapon. A class and even spec related quest line devoted solely to you... It speaks to me in the same vein. I can't wait to dive in and see all the changes coming our way.

I'm one of the rare few in the world who love change. I'm looking forward to it greatly.

The new pvp system looks great; probably what I'm most excited for. I also think the new dungeons all look awesome. I'm also really happy with the overhauls that they're doing for classes. I've been playing forever and I get excited pretty much every time blizzard changes something: good, bad, or indifferent.

I'd have to say that some of the best times I've had on WoW have been world PvPing, and I'm hoping that the new daily questing systems works as another way to encourage that! I love WoW and I think that most of the changes in Legion are a move in the right direction.

I am interested in seeing the new content. I have played WoW since classic and I have not been this excited about an expansion in a long time. I remember running karazhan numerous times during B. and I am very interested to see the new raids that legion has to offer

The lore that the Class Halls and Artifact questlines are going to provide are what I'm really looking forward to.  I'm always excited when the story plays out.  Not to say the raids aren't fun too, some of my best memories are back in Lich King figuring out how to raid with my little guild

I have enjoyed playing WoW since release in 2004. Even though I stopped raiding for Cata/MOP, I still came back just to experience the game during each expansion. I have actually enjoyed WoD very much. The leveling was one of the best experiences and I loved the raids. (Still working on finishing mythic, on Mannoroth... UGH lol)

The thing that I am looking forward to the most is the Artifact weapon system and the raiding. I have been a competitive PVPer in the past so I would probably do that as well. I think with three specs I will be able to PVP and raid seamlessly. I have been a warrior that is prot / fury but wants to play arms pvp for so long. Such a struggle lol.

I use icy veins a lot for help how to be a better player and pretty much anytime I make an alt and need to know how to play a class. You guys have been a huge resource for me to be a better player and a big thank you from everyone for all your hard work.

I look forward to flying with demon hunter wings dashing and gliding.

I look forward to new hunter pets that we are getting in legion.

I look forward to new gold quests and getting new gear and items.

I enjoyed questing with my friends and doing dungeons with them.

I enjoyed dark moon faire going there for the first time when I started.

Playing wow many years ago and doing quests for gold after boosting.

My character to level 90 and collecting pets and mounts I enjoy making.

Friends on wow over the years that I have been playing I enjoy wow cause.

It is a place I can go relax and not think about everything that is wrong with my life.

I'm sooo ready for Legion. Mainly hyped for killing Gul'Dan. Quite an awesome feat considering all the chaos he has caused. Also, demon hunters! :O

I cannot wait to do artifact quests on all my characters. From what I have seen, I am most excited about the monk artifact. The new lore is really exciting too, old faces I never thought I'd see are showing up (meryl felstorm, alodi). I am also a transmog addict with zero bag space left so it will be nice to free up everything.

I'm really want to try those new Legendary weapons on my characters, and visit the class hall of my class which is really good for the fantasy immersion .
Also want to try those sweet lv100 new talents, they look really amazing to be honest. There are plenty of combinations.

I'm looking forward to a lot of things come Legion. Demon Hunters2. The removal of secondary resources for healers (I hated it as a healer)4. Mistweaver Monk changes. And lastly, it seems like the healers are being slightly de-homogenized come Legion, which is a great sign.  I hated the changes they made in Cataclysm in making all the healers very similar, ie. all healers have a slow casting, low cost heal, a fast casting expensive heal, etc.  I miss having just single target, powerful heals as a paladin, and such.  Now every healer has AoE spells, good single target spells, and everything.  I liked having differences.

I am really looking forward to playing the new Demon Hunter class and all the new raids in Legion. Also excited about the new class changes. Some of my favorite memories come from raiding with all of my mates throughout the years in WoW as well as just messing around in the world

My main is a hunter and my primary alt is a disc priest, so I'm looking forward to seeing how each of them play since both classes have some huge changes. I'm also excited to check out the new transmog system and the artifact weapons

Everything I've read thus far I honestly believe will be a great addition to the game. In Legion, I am looking forward to artifact weapons the most. As a huge lore nerd, I think its awesome that we're going to be able to wield these powerful weapons against the legion.  I've met a log of awesome people and shared a bunch of amazing moments while playing Warcraft. However, I have to say my fondest memory has to be when we killed Mythic Archimonde for the first time. This moment was amazing for so many reasons. First off, this was the first time I've ever fully completed a raid tier on the hardest difficulty. Second off, just progressing through HFC with my guild was a blast, and going 13/13M was just the icing on the cake.

I'm most looking forward to playing the demon hunter class. Been looking forward to demon hunter since they were announced. My favorite WoW memory has to be the Warlords of Draenor launch. I know that a lot of people had some terrible experiences with the launch but for me it was the first time I was at the new content at the start of the expansion. Leveling alongside all the other players on my server and racing to 100 to be one of the first people to be running max level dungeons and heroics was such a great experience. i'm looking forward to doing it again in Legion

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
