Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I'm really hyped about the new scaling Dungeon Challenges a la Greater Rift from Diablo. It could be what it takes to make old friend come back and give it a shot again. I also like that they are experimenting a lot with classes and specializations

I'm really looking forward to play with the new DK systems. All specs:- The new rune system is my only fear. In short: right now, DK has 6 runes, 3 pairs of different colors (blood, frost, unholy). To me this sounds like it can become pretty simple/boring compared to the current system, as it moves closer to a simple energy bar & combo point system. But as I see more videos of DK in the alpha, it really seems like it's still fun to play. Blood:- Pretty much all the changes to tanks as a whole and the new Blood talents/artifact stuff seem to be great. They've also said that they want Blood to have the best reactive defensive ability of all the tanks (Death Strike heals), so it sounds like they'll keep it focused on the things I love about Blood. Frost:- The new talent trees look interesting. They seem to be giving a great choice for players (true for most specs in the game): more passive procs/buffs and less buttons, or a lot more buttons. I hope that they manage to balance it so that extra buttons & more complex rotation mean more DPS, so that the pro min-maxers can have their fun, while keeping the easier-to-play passive builds just a little bit behind those so that the less skilled players can still deal competent amount of DPS.

What I'm looking forward in Legion? Well, Demon Hunters of course, with Illidan being my favourite Warcraft character, it's only natural I feel so excited to play his class. My fondest memory of WoW is my first time playing a DK. With Arthas himself sending you on a mission, it just felt SO EPIC. It was really cool, they should add more classes that start as the servants of the bad ones  I also want to take this chance to say, thanks Icy-Veins for 5 years of helping us, your guides, specially (for me) the gearing up and boss mechanics ones have been the solid reason I've managed to get into raiding guilds, and I appreciate the effort you, and the community, put in here.

Hello folks,I love to hear that you have your 5th birthday and contributed so much for our community in the past years. Yeah for Legion I'm realy looking forward for so many things, but mostly the new revised talentspeccs to give good feedbacks, PvE section, Raids, the new PvP talent system.I'm playing wow since 2005 but honestly for me the best moment so far was the 1st kill on Kaelthas Sunstrider in BC. I liked this addon so much and after 3 weeks of wiping everything comes in place I hope, blizz will do a great job and I don't see wow as a dying game

I think it will be best expansion so far. My deepest memory in wow was wotlk and icc raid with guild many months for progressing on heroic, and I love again to be in dalaran city as main city of expansion. I think this expansion will be so fun. I am looking to play retribution paladin as pve and I like new changes and I want to rediscover pvp with new pvp talent system. I think my enhacement shaman will be pvp and I hope to be max out on prestige system

I am so excited for this expansion. What I loved most about WoD was the character model updates. They look so crisp, and add a lot to my enjoyment and immersion. I think the combat animation updates will add just as much, and it's strangely what I'm most looking forward to!

I'm really looking forward to what leveling in Legion is going to be like. I really enjoyed WoD's leveling and the cinematics were amazing. Another thing I love is how each specialization is getting their own unique artifact and quest line. I always loved class specific quests and this takes it even further. I can imagine it looking very strange with everyone running around with the same powerful weapon, but I imagine some people will transmog their weapons to get around this. I also love the animations, focusing on class fantasy, I could go on.

I remember playing WoW for the first time and seeing people flying around on their mounts. I was ecstatic when I got my first mount. I loved it. You can't recreate that level of satisfaction. My fondest memory on WoW must be when I ran through Blacking Wing Lair with a couple of friends in Cataclysm. I don't raid all that much, although I'd love to, but doing that raid with my friends was really fun and it was one of the few times we'd actually done something as a group, just the three of us.

I'm really looking forward to Legion. It looks amazing so far. We'll just have to see what end game has in store for us.

Really looking forward to the new Artifact weapons.

Its been a dream of mine to get my hands on The Ashbringer(not the corrupted one :p) since I heard Caretaker Alen say:

"The what-bringer? Oh, ASHbringer? Never heard of it ... What? Stop bothering me!"

way back in vanilla :)

I love all the lore surrounding it and cant wait to see what they do with the Artifact quest lines.

I already have my favorite areas of the new expansion: Val'sharah. My main is a resto druid and I really want to know everything about the druidism, And our artifact weapon, G'Hanir, the Mother Tree have the best appearance in my opinion. I always loved the lore of warcraft and this expansion story telling system is promising

In Legion, I'm most looking forward to the lore reveals. I love the cosmic aspects of the Warcraft universe, and I hope we see lots more about Azeroth-the-world and Sargeras and his grand plans for creation and the mythology behind all that. (You bet I preordered Chronicle, ha). My favourite WoW memory is probably my time in the Warcraft Hunters' Union, a guild made up entirely of Dwarf hunters. We would have "events" every so often that involved scores of baby hunters taking on content we were way too underleveled for. You can see some videos of the WHU events on YouTube.

I am looking forward to Demon Hunters the most, with finally slicing gul'dan to bits a close second.  All in all though, its hard to pin down exactly one thing. Everything in legion looks great so far

I started playing WoW on day 1 vanilla and I'm still loving it. I enjoy the lore, the people I play with and the fantasy setting. It's kinda rare these days to get that huge fleshed out fantasy world but thankfully WoW has it. I'm looking forward to the raids in Legion, since they are what I enjoy the most out of the game. I'm also looking forward to the Demon Hunter since I want to reroll from my Death Knight that I played since wotlk

Really looking forward to the legion launch, from the dungeons, questing, and artifacts it looks intense and could probably bring me back into wow considering how long ive been gone from it.

first off dungeons, i've seen so many videos for reviews of the new dungeons from people like preach gaming, who remarks on everything from aesthetics to difficulty. visually the dungeons look fantastic and each feels fairly unique and not just a copy and past like WoD felt like, as for difficulty they have been amped up a fair amount like vault of the wardens which is supposed to be intense and i would love to try it.

Questing, i loved the questing in wod although a bit repetitive i actually liked the narrative of it and the pacing was done well. like i said i have seen videos on the new questing hubs, not too much because i dont want to spoil the experience, but enough to get a jist of the overall questing design and they just dont do it like they used to back in vanilla, TBC, or WOTLK, the quests were challenging at times.

last of all artifacts, i dont have much to say because they are one aspect i dont want to spoil at all for their quests because i plan on doing them all, but i love the talent system that goes with them. legion is supposed to come out in july but i hope i can get a beta key because i wont be able to play it as i am joining the navy and simply wont have time to.

I'm looking forward to feeling like we're the last bastion of hope for Azeroth and having the story shaken up so drastically so quickly. My fondest memory is not the kills on the big bosses but logging into WoW for the first time as my gnome rogue and opening up the map, my friend told me the world was HUGE. Imagine my disappointment when I thought Coldridge Valley was the entire map, I quickly logged out. He told me the next day that you can right click the map to see the whole thing and that Coldridge was just a tiny zone

Looking forward most to the changes to shadow priest and trying them out, love the old gods being rolled into the class. The new dungeons look excellent, especially vault of the wardens. Looking forward to the cordana fight above all else. Interested to see all the new lore coming with the artifact weapons and what effect this new story has on all the characters especially with the new elves and the emerald dream. Also hoping to run into Gul'dan again to settle that little score. Really hoping Legion breathes some new life into my favorite MMO. Hopefully will see you all in there

I'm very excited for the revamps of many specializations especially Mistweaver monks as monk is my favourite class and most likely my main in Legion (or a Guardian druid, I ain't sure yet due to the  new bear forms, they're excellent). Also I'm looking at getting into depth with professions next expansion, I've only read some information on some of them but they seem intriguing, including the fishing pole artifact. My favourite artifact weapon at the moment is going to have to:Sheliun, Staff Of Mists, the Mistweaver artifact. Why? Well, we have to take into account that the default appearance of the staff is brilliant and inspired, whilst the customizations that can be made are beautiful. The different skins you can choose involve artwork related to the four celestials on the Timeless Isle such as Chi-Ji.

I cant wait for the professions system in Legion. I really hope its going to be great once more.  My biggest personal moment in wow apart from raiding etc. probably is when i reached my first goldcap with professsions only.

What am I most excited about with Legion? Honestly I'm trying to keep myself level headed this time. I've been disappointed since Cata was released and I think I've got to the point where I take all the release information with a pinch of salt. The possibilities for the Artifact progression system really excite me. So long as they don't over simplify it and make multiple paths viable then it should be really good.I love that they are streamlining the transmog system and adding a wardrobe to manage previously attained gear, check incomplete sets and create your own gear sets. This is long overdue. As always I'm excited about the dungeons and raids. From what I've seen of the Dungeon races they have been streaming, it seems like they are heading back to a time were dungeons provided a viable challenge and pushed parties to their limit. Can't wait to see what challenges the raids provide. Really need a good solid raid I can get invested in. Class storylines seems really damn impressive. It's been a while since I actually felt like I mattered in the world. And after all that we have done for the world, it's about time we get recognised as proper leaders and heroes  in our own right  As for fondest memories. Even creating my very first character was amazing back in TBC. I was a complete noob but everything felt Epic and huge. Approachig Iron Forge for the first time was mind blowing. Couldn't believe the scale of it. And since then, so many memories of Boss Kills, Guild events, random moments with friends. Our best boss kill by far with LK HC. We wiped so many times on it, with people being flung off the platform by void zones, Valkyrs being spam CC'd so the mitigation kicked in and they just zoomed off the platform lol But the first kill was unbelievably messy and yet so epic. It was our last attempt of the night, we were tired and people were losing focus. Our Pala Tank had forgotten to switch out his PvP weapon the entire raid, during the first phase I ran out of ammo (remember when that was a thing? Time to spam Wing Clip & Raptor Strike lol) and our rogue (who was OP at the time) had forgotten to repair and his weapons broke. And yet we killed him. And the shouting and screaming was deafening on Vent. And that ending scene for Arthas.that was a powerful moment in the games history. There are so many more memories I could relate but I've said enough already so I should just leave it here. Looking forward to renewing that feeling of Epicness and the hard fought struggle to save the world. Thanks Icy-Veins for being such a big part of the WoW community. You're guides and tips have helped many a raider become far greater. We are in your debt

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
