Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

Theres just too much I look forward to. Dungeons look fleshed out, Zones look gorgeous, the new melee animations will look godly on my warrior, and the Xmog wardrobe will save me at least 1000 bank and storage slots. With the new wardrobe I see a whole new metagame in WoW

I'm having an incredibly difficult time choosing what class to play. The 20 different visual combinations available plus the changes many classes are undergoing present so many intriguing classes. I might just have to level everything. My favorite time in WoW has been raiding with my guild this expansion. That might be because WoD is the first expac I have raided in, but nonetheless it's a blast.

Excited to try out the new Survival Hunter - a melee hunter is certainly a unique flavor. In addition, I am curious how DK's will function with runes that are of all the same type. I started back in Wrath when ICC was open, enjoyed playing a hero class such as DK. Loved playing the DK starting storyline, can't wait to try out the demon hunter's

Having played World of Warcraft since early Vanilla, I have had many ups and downs with the franchise. However it has inspired me through my life to pursue a field in the art indistry, primarily illustration, to create worlds that mesmerize new generations much how Blizzard had done so for me.My favorite memory is a close tie between the server opening of the AQ gates, and finally downing Lich King 25H with my guild. As far as legion, I am most excited to see how the integration of diablo-esque features such as the rift equivalent, and random legendaries pan out in the long run. I am interested to see if it will be an overwhelming success or an imbalanced nightmare for a game so intrinsically different to Diablo

In Legion, I am most looking forward to the new class changes for most classes and the transmog system. Those are the big highlights for me. In the past, some of my most enjoyable and memorable experiences are usually centered around the new questing experience and following the stories and humor presented in many of them

My favorite moments continue to happen. Just the other day my guild made it onto a new boss in our progression after a completely flawless lower HFC and down of Iskar. We pushed out the new boss as if we had downed it 100 times. We also watched a guild officer who is not fit for leadership and was totally a pessimistic

The thing I keep coming back to when I think about Legion is the lore. I can not wait to dive in and see what we have in store for us. I have always (well, mostly *cough* everythingoutsidetheinitiallevelingindraenor *cough*) enjoyed the lore of Warcraft since my early days in Warcraft 1. Warcraft 2 is when it really kicked in (On my Sega Saturn, oh yeah) and Warcraft 3 cemented my love for the series. With the Warcraft Chronicles out now and keeping us salivating for more lore it's sounding like its going to shape up to be an awesome experience.Oh, and of course all of the other new things coming in Legion, heh. I have been a player of wow since the first day it came out and the my favorite memory has been watching it evolve into what it is today. Many complain, many leave, many damn it to the depths of Hell. Being invested in a digital world is something I didn't think would happen, but it did. When they destroyed the map I legit felt depressed about it. That's some strong stuff. So, yeah, my favorite memory is all of them.

I see Legion as just more of the same, minor improvements, some new content but ultimately a repeat of Warlords and Panderia. With all the money pouring in every month and the millions of dollars from the expansion it self, Blizzard could release some real innovations.     Things I would really like to see and which I think are do able.  Real exploration.  I would love to see a huge city full of unique houses, unique NPCs, secret rooms subterranean tunnels, hidden treasures randomly seeded or a huge outdoors area.  All spawns being dynamic constantly changing so that no online guide or spoiler site could have a catalog.  The outdoor maps themselves could be dynamic. Also real PVP, I know its difficult.  But all of the PVP in WoW is weak, and virtually everyone think it is a fail.  In particular there is no real  lasting reward for success.  IN EVE Online PvP works because there is really something at stake when your team  wins or loses the battle.    I point to EVE online as an example of a MMORPG  which has had real success with both the above.  CCP probably has a budget 5% of what Blizzard's.  With a fraction of the money and number of developers they are able to accomplish some success in two areas  Blizzard fails at.

So far I am really excited for the artifact weapons as a whole, upgrading them, and the passive effects they bring to game play.  But my favorite thing so far is the new challenge modes.  Re playable content that can scale up as we gear up, constantly bringing a challenge.  Overall, the just the new expansion pack.  My favorite times gaming have been the new expansion launches.  Staying up late with friends figuring out new stuff

I'm really looking forward to Legion. All the class changes and places to go, I feel like its gonna be a good expansion, but we'll see. I'm especially excited about trying out the druid, as the changes look rather interesting to me.  PS: Thank you Ivy Veins for giving us good guides and tips. You've really helped me out since I started playing WoW

Started playing in vanilla, and I'm excited that from what I'm hearing, blizzard is going back to form with a class fantasy that I enjoyed in Vanilla.  Also hyped for demon hunters.

The 3 things i look forward to the most are the changes to druids balance spec, specifically the removal of the lunar/solar bar. I also looking forward to entering the emerald nightmare for the first time ever. I look forward to the new lore they will release with said emerald nightmare, and the druid based zone

A legendary weapon per class is one thing, but a weapon per spec??

Plus tri-spec finally???!?!

THIS I've gotta see!!

Also keen to see if Professions make a comeback.

I start to play WoW in Draenor so i count as a new player. So, i'm enjoying the game at most. But Legion is different. Because in Legion all other players and me, count as a new player. That's really good. AND I'm so excited for. DOOMHAMMER. I boost my ench. shaman for this artifact weapon. Love Thrall and love this Doomhammer.

I am looking forward to the new transmog system so I can finally have more bag space. As a hardcore raider, the content and effort put into the new raids and dungeons are overwhelmingly exciting

I hardly can wait to try out the new Challenge mode system. I am a huge fan of it since was introduced in MoP. I can still recall my 1st SSB gold which was excatly 12:00 or the bug when half of my team got the gold in Mogushan half of us not due to we were standing further than the others in our 1t gold attempt :D

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
