Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

The artifact weapons are a thing that have really caught my attention. Cant wait to play the weapon quest lines on my alts. and the new and improved transmog system is nice. Goodbye to full void storages and bank tabs  One thing I will always remember is the first Ragnaros kill back in the day. Havent had the same feel of accomplishment since. what a great feeling it was.

I'm really looking forward to the Demon Hunter class, and the artifact weapon system. Also really looking forward to the new Challenge Mode system, and the PvP Honor system changes. Hoping that the new Challenge Modes become a viable end-game option besides raiding for PvE.

I'm really looking forward to playing Demon Hunter. The class fantasy sounds very interesting and combat aspects as far as I've seen are nice (not sure I like the Momentum build though). Other than that I'm looking forward to the new transmog system. Finally my bank will have free space again

All the things I am looking forward to, in no particular order: Moonkin Model UpgradeNo longer having to stare at my UI in order to DPS (moonkin)Being able to change my attacks based on what I'm attacking (goes with above)I really want to play with the new weapon. I think the idea is great since it frees up a lot of drop space for other gear throughout the expansion.Oddly enough, I enjoy leveling, mostly because I like the stories, also, I wonder where the poo quest is.No longer having a bag or two full of tabards.I think that's enough for now

I myself am very excited for the new transmog system and not having to carry everything around, as well as the artifact weapons and some of their unique abilities. I'm kinda sad about the affliction lock rework though.

I am extremely excited for Legion, not only is it a change of pace for the game but a change for even my personal play style. This is the first expansion that I am looking at the beginning of it and saying, "I want to level with friends" and with the new system of how each zone scales to you and at the end of each zone there are 1-2 dungeons to do to go along with the story, it will be a fantastic opportunity to level with my friends. In the past I have always been a rush leveler, from Wrath of the Lich King, trying to get world first level 80 but getting a sore eye and being unable to play and losing out on it by about 3 hours. All the way to rushing Warlords of Draenor to be the first on my realm at level 100 and gearing for Highmaul as quickly as possible. These have been fond memories throughout my years of playing but that is finally ending and I couldn't be happier about it. I am most excited for leveling with friends, but also having a new progression system both in PvP with the prestige system and PvE with the Artifact system and the CM Dungeon changes. I extremely look forward to the difficulties that will present themselves in the Challenge Mode Dungeons and I look forward to racing for as high of a CM Key as I possibly can get from week to week. Every system that I have experienced through my years in World of Warcraft has always fascinated me at the beginning of the expansion and I think this expansion will do the exact same. But, the only difference is I think these systems will keep me intrigued all the way to the next expansion

What I am looking forward to in Legion:

1. The release date.

2. Discipline and Mistweaver monk changes and removal of cyclone from all druid specs (but one) will finally make arena's more enjoyable tongue.png

3. Wardrobe system to finally empty my bags and banks.

4. Garrisons will finally be gone (or close enough to it) !!!.

What I enjoyed from the Past and Present.

1. TBC - Karazhan - most likely my favourite raid still because it was my first raiding experiance in WoW and when i think back to that day and age and how bad I was yet the guild still accepted me as a complete noob as a shadowpriest.

2. The expansion release dates - because we all enjoy those.

3. Every evening when I am home alone (or should that not be discussed here tongue.png )

Reasons I should be giving a free key even if I am not chosen

It's my 34th birthday today 26th March - and Icy Vein's haven't given me a birthday present yet smile.png

One of my best memories on wow : When I was a beginner I wanted to have the epic two-handed sword from Zul'Farrak, you had to combine two one-handed swords to get it.  But when the rarest sword dropped after 15 times doing the dongeon with different people, our tank clicked "need" by mistake. He was so sad for me he asked the GM to switch the loot, and they did . But above anything else, I made a friend . I am really looking forward the new social features of legion.

Ever since 2002 when Warcraft 3 was released, I’ve always been a huge fan of the whole unique lore behind Warcraft, especially the one behind Illidan and his connection to the Burning Legion.

While Illidan was always presented as the bad guy in TBC, we also got to know him as a selfish but also honorable hero in the WC3 campaigns. Even though Illidan cleanses the lands of his beloved Tyrande from the devouring plague of the Burning Legion by consuming the immense dark power within the Skull of Gul’dan, he gets exiled and punished by his own brother for that noble but also far more selfish sacrifice. As we know today, his former servant Kael’thas later betrayed him which leads to the question if it was really Illidan that commanded his troops to attack Shattrath, which finally led to our attack on the Black Temple and his final (apparent) death.

With that said: On the one side I’m really looking forward to experience more about Illidan’s past during Legion. To see, who he really was and what part he will play in the upcoming expansion. On the other side, being such a great fan of Illidan, I can’t wait to play my own demon hunter and explore all the new upcoming and awesome looking dungeons and raids!

As for the past, I will never forget the unique raid experience during TBC and WotLK. I personally loved those huge open raids like Serpentshrine Cavern, The Black Temple, Karazhan, Ulduar, or Icecrown Citadel. Therefore progressing on such epic encounters like Illidan, Kael’thas, Arthas, or Mimiron will always keep a place in my memories when it comes to World of Warcraft; together with the first nostalgic steps as a night elf druid in Teldrassil back in 2004 when the World of Warcraft Beta was accessible *mindblowing*!!

In the beginning I would like to Thank you Icy Veins for a nice opportunity to participate in such wonderful event. It has been a long time since we first encountered Legion, but it will be first time for some of us to use an artifact to fight it. I am really looking forward to "story" behind all artifact quests.I know there will be changes that will break someone's heart (gladiator stance removal,.) but if all things together will look amazing as it appears now, we will be happy.New honor system, diablo-like transmog system, artifacts(with nerfed costs for upgrading it on alts - yay.) and all the lore that binds it together.

Im really looking forward to legion for so many reasons. As a lore maniac, i want to see how the storyline will affect the great lore figures like Thrall and Tirion, but as a player, i am very hyped for the changes coming to affliction warlocks and fury warriors,my main characters .I've been playing WoW since Wrath of the Lich King, but was mostly active through Cataclysm,Mists, and WoD. I remember bringing down madness of Deathwing with my guild at normal. It was a moment of pure happiness, as it as my first full raid clear in the game with an organised team. Now, so many years after that moment, i still play for those feelings, the sense of awesomeness when you down a big evil guy and affect the world around you as time goes on.

The game is going through alot of changes and i have been a fan since vanilla. But the main thing that I'm excited about are the artifact weapons. These are a fresh breeze in an old game that has a huge player base even after all these years. This system might be a game changer and i want to be a part of the change. Most of all I want to give back to the game that has given me so much by testing and reporting. I have been in several beta tests and I have given feedback every time. I hope this expansion will be THE expansion so that everyone will think back as the "game changer"

not to mention at blizzcon when we all heard about the new transmorg system was going to be changed and implemented and how we would finally have free'd up more bag space the hype got real. during throne of thunder I started to up my game as a progression raider and icy-veins was the first 'wow site' i jumped on to get a good look at boss fights before they came out live. At the time i was living in australia and due to the timezone differences i couldnt log on at 2am to do ptr testing. I know reading fights and doing them are two different things - but it helped me in the first week of normal and the following week doing heroics at the time

My favorite memories from WoW are the old 40-man vanilla raids and competing in the old PvP weekly ranking system. I was never particularly good at PvP, but it was always satisfying to rank up on reset day.In Legion, as I no longer have the time I had 12 years ago, I most look forward to questing through the new zones and seeing how the story progresses. Maybe I'll dip back into PvP as well

I'm looking forward to progressing through the new artifact weapon system and crafting interesting engineering gadgets. I started playing in TBC when i was young. I enjoyed the rigor of progress and having to walk around your server to find people to do dungeons with.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
