I am looking forward to a multitude of things in Legion, mostly their attempt at encompassing a greater feeling of class fantasy, something lacking on live. Another is that I am looking forward to exploring and questing in the new zones, of which look amazing thus far. Finally the development of the story, that Warlords did not.

I'm looking forward to leveling all my chars to 110 within the first few weeks then spam Arena's and RBG to start gearing up. The moment I have always enjoyed while playing World of Warcraft is playing RBGs and also just relax and watch either Bajheera or Towelliee stream. Very Excited for Legionbiggrin.png

First of all thanks for the opportunity Icey-Veins, long time fan of your work on the site.

With the upcoming expansion Legion bringing the threat that got me so enthralled with the game coming back, I can only revel in nostalgic glee as the  demon hunters are now a playable class and the most "fit" to deal with the threat.

I have loved seeing how the game has grown from back when I was a hunter in vanilla raiding MC wanting my GIanstalkers armor set, up to WoD which was...okay. And now seeing the new content in videos and drooling as I see the landscape of the Broken Isles. Which will include what I consider to be some of the best lore possibilities to date for W.O.W,( maybe minus WoTLK though??)

I am VERY excited to see the legion come back to Azeroth and how we might fight them off. And look forward to the return of the Old Gods influence with the Emerald Nightmare! But most of all, I am excited to FINALLY be a demon hunter, being a player that thinks they should have been available since BC but hey I'm not a developer heh.

And of course with all this new content coming out, I will be heading to Icey-veins for guides and tutorials just as I have through every other expansion of W.O.W and aiming for the raid content asap. (B.C being my fav if anyone else wants to share theirs) Thanks for reading and have a great one guys and gals!

Alright, here it goes.

To start, I'll talk about what I think of World of Warcraft itself.

I've been an avid World of Warcraft player since I was in fourth grade, in 2008. My dad showed me the game and the expansion during that time was Wrath of the Lich King, which is overall my favorite expansion due to nostalgia. Since then, World of Warcraft has had its ups and downs, such as decrease in subscriber count, however I see past all of this because the game means a lot to me and it will always have a special place in my heart.

And now, to talk about Legion.

I honestly think that this is going to be one of the best expansions that the game has seen. During Mists of Pandaria and Warlords of Draenor, there were many unanswered questions involving the lore of the game. However, it is evident from what I've seen so far that almost all of these questions have been answered, such as "where is Tyr?" and "Is Illidan really dead or is he just locked away somewhere". In terms of actual features of the expansion, my favorite feature that is being introduced is the demon hunter hero class. Although seeming a bit overpowered, I am optimistic that blizzard will slightly tweak the class. But, the class seems VERY fun to play and that's all that really matters to me when I'm choosing what class to play. Think about it; you get to wield warglaives, you can double-jump, etc. My second favorite feature of the expansion is the artifact weapons. I think that the artifact talent system is very reminiscent of the old talent system that was present in earlier expansions such as Wrath of the Lich King. I also like the class order halls because, well, what's not to like about them? And last but not least, I'm very very very excited for the new PvP system in Legion. Finally PvE and PvP will be more balanced with one another because of the system, and this was an idea that I had hoped for back in the day, and it's great that it's being implemented into the game. I think Legion will be an amazing expansion, mainly because Blizzard started working on it earlier than they did with other expansions. This means that there is more time and effort being put into the development of the expansion, which ultimately means that the expansion will be of great quality compared to the previous expansions.

Before Legion was announced I was hoping for either for an expansion focused on Azshara (love her, she’s so deliciously mental), the titans or the legion. Imagine my excitement when I realised I was getting a little bit of everything! What entices me so much about these is the lore behind it all, how the legion is connected to the titans, and how it all started in Azeroth with Azshara being all nuts. I’m looking forward to be able to immerse myself in an expansion where I can relate to the lore, when it goes back to pre-WoW lore for me. This will make the gameplay even richer for me, since what made Kara AWESOME (apart from, you know, being perhaps the best raid ever?) is that it related so strongly to Medivh and the BIG lore-stuff. It just gave me chills running around in a place so strongly intertwined with all of that, and I can’t wait to experience that again.

I'm really excited for all the new class changes in Legion. My fondest memory of the past would have to be when I started during Wotlk and created a nigbt elf, my first character. It was amazing seeing Teldrassil for the first time.

Legion has some great content coming to the World of Warcraft. I really feel like it is a return to some of the games former glory.

I would have to say I am most excited for all of the class changes coming in Legion. I admit to being a complete 'altaholic' and enjoy playing many different classes and specs. It's great to see that Blizzard have come back to the core identity and gameplay of the different specializations. An added bonus is the various upgrades to the attack and spell animations, which like the character model upgrade, just modernizes and refreshes the game.

One of my all time greatest memories from Wow is the opening of the gates of Ahn'qiraj. This moment from Vanilla Wow will live in my memory, the suspense and build up for months up until the opening and the crazy mix of Pvp and Pve that happened upon the gate opening was just a great moment to be a part of this game.

Thanks Icy Veins!

I started wow a few weeks before TBC came out and played until early Cata. I loved my time in the game but had to leave to concentrate on University. Recently I jumped back in to see how it was faring and was very disappointed! WoD was clearly not a good time to get back into it; especially while having fond memories of TBC and WotLK. I've been following the development of Legion closely and I really hope that it kicks it up a notch (or two). Would love to give it a try ahead of time!

I'm really excited about the new Shadow Priest, since i'm maining it, the artifact weapon's talent trees, and of course the new zones!

To be honest i enjoyed building up my garrison the most in this expansion. I know that 90% of people thinks that i'm a tard for this, but hey... easy gold :D

16593-icy-veins-5-years-anniversary-200-

Grab your chance to win a Legion beta key!

Icy Veins is turning 5 today and we wanted to celebrate it in the best way possible! We're giving all of you the chance to win a key for the upcoming beta of World of Warcraft: Legion!

As 2011 approached, two young gentlemen were sat discussing ideas for a World of Warcraft website. Ideas were passed back and forth, drafts were drawn up and the first edition of the Icy Veins website was released on the 21st of March, 2011. With a total of 3 guides for specialisations, 2 of which were Mage guides, and 1 raid encounter guide, Icy Veins was beginning its long journey.

5 years later and here we are! With a brand new design just released and with more changes planned in the near future, Icy Veins has not only grown, but matured under the watchful eyes of its founders, Damien and Vlad. With their tireless work ethic and their dedication to the site, we've seen Icy Veins expand from a small World of Warcraft guide-hub into a Blizzard-wide gaming community.

I feel like the word community is worth focusing on, since that's the general theme of today's post. With a growing membership on the forums and an increasing viewer-base on our news posts, Icy Veins has grown into a family. Without the users that visit the site each day, Icy Veins could never have become what it is today. Readers allow our team to do what we love: creating content for all of you.

For everything that you have done for us, we thought today would be a perfect day to do something for you.

Legion Beta Key Giveaway

As many of you know, World of Warcraft is releasing its new expansion this year: Legion. The expansion is overhauling a huge number of aspects within the game, as well as introducing a number of new parts into the game.

Many of you won't have been able to experience all of the new content that is being released, so we wanted to help. With the aid of Blizzard, we're giving away 200 keys to the upcoming beta; 100 of the keys will be given out this week, 100 in another giveaway next week. It's a pretty simple giveaway, you'll just need to post an appropriate comment on this post before the 29th of March to enter!

So what is an appropriate comment? We love hearing back from our readers and we love discussions, so why not mix the two and put together a giveaway! We want to know all about your opinions on Legion, as well as WoW itself. Let us know in the comments what you're most looking forward to, as well as your fondest memories in Warcraft history! Whether it's a guild moment, a personal moment or a moment in the game's story itself, we want to hear it.

Rules

As with all of our giveaways, there are some rules:

  1. Every comment must be relevant to this article, giving examples of what you look forward to in Legion and what you enjoyed in the past.
  2. The first giveaway will end on the 29th of March at 23:59 GMT.
  3. Only one comment will be counted per person.
  4. Comments on the linked articles will also be included in the draw if they are relevant to the topics.
  5. Commenting on multiple topics will not increase your chances of winning.
  6. The winner will be drawn randomly from all the comments that are deemed "acceptable".
  7. It is at our discretion which comments will be deemed acceptable, based on the extent to which they stay relevant to this article.
  8. We will not release the dates on which the keys will be released, as Blizzard have requested us not to do so.
  9. We do not know when the Beta will start, so please do not analyse our article hoping to find that. It's not there.
  10. The comments section will be checked via a bot used in previous giveaways, so multiple comments will be found.
  11. We have tools to detect cheating, so please don't bother.
  12. We reserve the right to stop anyone competing if we believe they are cheating.

Legion Information

If you're struggling for inspiration or you haven't been able to explore some of the information being released from the Alpha, we've made sure to give you a few pointers below:

Players will be equipped with the mightiest weapons of Azeroth, the artifact weapons, each tied to our classes with a unique link in lore. If you're looking to find some additional information on the lore behind your weapons, as well as some of the alternatives, you can always check out the artifact series we featured!

If the artifacts aren't quite tantalising enough, there's always the swathe of new dungeons being introduced with the expansion, such as the Arcway.

Still not excited? You must be a PvPer then! Worry not, there's a sparkling new prestige system being introduced, as well as a number of changes to the way PvP will work from now on.

Still? You're a tough one to please. Maybe you prefer a more pacifist route through Azeroth? You'll be able to enjoy more costumes and outfits than ever before with the new transmogrification and wardrobe systems

You can also check out the interviews I had with Venruki, Treckie and Tegu in our "Will Legion Save WoW?" article. You'll get perspectives on changes from some of the best players in the world in both PvP and PvE!

Before you enter, make sure that your computer is up to scratch for the Legion client by checking the system requirements.

While I'm not entering, I'll never miss out on a chance to take part in the fun! Personally, my favourite part in Legion so far and what I am looking forward to most is the lore surrounding certain characters. I don't want to put spoilers into this post, but you can check out the fate of some of them in our spoilers posts (Part 2). As a favourite moment of WoW, it would have to be the moment I first saw C'thun. The constant taunting as you approach, his appearance, it was just amazing. That for me is the peak of nostalgic feeling towards this game.

That's it from me. Good luck to you all and I can't wait to read your replies!

I am really excited for the feral druid changes coming in legion, recently when i have come back to wow i have LOVED the feral spec, and like the changes even more. I also like that you can have any spec in legion, which will get me to try more specs on my favorite classes. As for a memory, i don't remember much other than looking forward so much to coming home from school to raid with my guild back in Cataclysm. Thanks for doing this giveaway guys! even if i don't win, i am really happy for the people that do win. Good luck everyone!

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
