Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

This is the first time I've gotten time to get truly hyped and excited for an expansion for this game, I was on a break most of the time whilst the wait for WoD was going on and I started playing midway through Mists so now is the first time I've followed an expansion from start and I must say I am looking forward to a lot of things!

First of all, the new Hero Class! My first class that I capped was a DK and that was my favorite class for a long time and now seeing theres going to be a new Hero Class that looks as epic as the Demon Hunter I am truly excited to get to sink my teeth into learning this class.

Then theres the transmog system, I LOVE the classic WoW transmog system and this is a HUGE improvement that I cannot wait to try out, my mogs will surely improve immensly!

And last but not least, the artifact weapons!! THIS is the pinnacle of my hype! I've played a Paladin since I got back into the game, and ever since my very first time EVER touching WoW back in Burning Crusade (Those trials, mmm those were the days!) I've wanted to use the Ashbringer. I remember seeing pictures of it online and seeing people talk about it and reading up on the lore and its just such an AMAZING weapon both looks wise and lore wise and now getting to use it on my main is such a huge thing for me.

All in all, I'm extremely excited for Legion and it feels good to for the first time to be part of the hype and build up to a new expansion.

Leveling through Pandaria for the first time is probably what I enjoyed most in the past. The aesthetic of each zone as well as the music was great and I enjoyed the initial lore and the theme of discovering a new land but dragging our horde/alliance war along putting it in danger. The Legion zones are looking pretty nice so far too.

For Legion I think I'm looking forward to the class halls the most. More specifically the initial artifact quest lines and then the idea that it seems every class is going to have a questline that is tailored to them and their lore that's going to be similar to an improved upon garrison campaign from WoD. Most excited for the monk one as it may relate to pandaren/pandaria as well as the Death Knight one dealing with Bolvar awakening as a new kind of Lich King.

Well I'm most eager to see the Demon Hunter, of couse. Also, I'm a huge RP fan, so I'm most curious about how the story unfolds, aswell.

I think in the past I liked the most that the Horde and the Alliance had a separate class. This might of caused some balancing issues, maybe, but it increased the feeling of the faction. Now it feels like the only difference between the factions are the banners.

I'm liking the new artifact weapons and how everyone gets one, so at least people will have that in common with gear so they are not as different. the new demon hunter class looks like a lot of fun, and the new changes to the animations make everything look more real.

The thing I’m most looking forward to in Legion is most definitely the Demonhunter! I can't wait to use the double jump for exploration and getting a personal look at how the gameplay of the class feels like.

My fondest memories in World of Warcraft are mostly comprised of me exploring, at the time, "hidden“ locations. The feeling of awe when I first entered the Caverns of Time back in Vanilla was  just crazy. Or using the walljump to get to Ironforge airport before it got patched. It was such fun to see the lesser known locations in the game. Other than exploration the only thing that comes to mind was seeing my Arena Team at Rank 1 in the Realmpool, that felt epic too!

For me probably the most wanted change in Legion is the introduction of wardrobe — finally there will be some free space in my bags.

As for the greatest WoW moment I remember, this is probably the discovery of Pandaria, especially entering the Vale of Eternal Blossoms (it looked so great in 5.3, but then Garrosh ruined everything sad.png ).

Hey!

Thanks for the great opportunity to "sneak" into the beta :)

Why the wish to be there? Been playing WoW since Vanillia betas, was there when Ragnaros40 was the real thing and when the guilds still had classleaders. Still remembering the love/hate relationship of raiders with C'thun.

Since then raided many things, probably won't stop this time either. How could I stop when I could finally play the Demon Hunter and when the tons of transmorg I collected finally got a good system? :D

/cheers

I'm extremely excited for Legion. I've been playing WoW since The Burning Crusade expansion and I've loved every bit of it since. I'm mostly excited about Legion because I'm extremely curious about the lore...where everything will be going and what's to come next. I'm super stoked that Illidan is back...as he was the first "Main" boss that I battled back in BC...so it's kind of like it's coming full circle for me right now :D. I truly just can't wait to sink my teeth into this expansion and level a Demon Hunter as well as my other 11 level 100 toons to 110. Thanks for the giveaway...even if I don't get in...a lot of us dont ever get the chance and to whoever wins...congrats and think of me while your playing the beta! :P

Simply can't wait for the tank changes!

Especially the DK changes, as I find death knight to be the most enjoyable tank class, and it have been so since it WoTLK where we could tank in all the speccs, be it blood, unholy or frost!

I'm really excited for Legion, I loved BC it was definitely my favourite expansion and I think were going to get an even more lore rich expansion with Legion. I would have to say hands down my best and most memorable  moment in WOW would have to be in vanilla when our guild before  raiding AQ 40 would  have an all out world pvp battle with the alliance guilds waiting out by the altar or getting ready for the raid themselves it was allot of fun to have 40 vs 40 world pvp battles especially when you won. The aspect of legion that I'm the most excited for is the story and how they make it follow the lore of the broken isles.

Me and my old guild mates have decided that we'll give raiding a proper shot for Legion again. Whether or not it will last for more than week, month or whatever, it doesn't matter to me, I just know that while it last it will be awesome, so i'm looking forward to the good old social aspect of the game. Oh I've missed it so...

I'm really looking forward to the transmog changes as well as trying out the changes to the PvP system. I used to love PvP but mostly abandoned it a while back.

Also looking forward to people hopefully populating the city hubs more than their garrisons, and bringing at least a little of the multiplayer back into the MMO.

Mostly looking forward to the legendary aspect of cat and bearform, being able to change your appearances from a rock bear to a treecat, Just amazing! Makes you stand out even more then you do right now.

Atm im always playing as a firecat, from the firelands toy. Just makes you look more special, the feeling about being special will increase even more when i can be a treecat etc :)

Also the new resources classes such as dps shaman, shadow priests etc will have looks interesting and i'm looking forward to try them out.

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
