Icy Veins' 5 Years Anniversary: 200 Legion Beta Key Giveaway

Recommended Posts

I have very high hopes for Legion because I've been somewhat disappointed with the last 2 expansions, yet I still love the game at its core. In Cata and Wrath I just wanted to play all day long almost every day, and no computer game has captured me like that since. One of the things that has really caught my attention in Legion is the artifact talent tree. It seems similar to our old talent trees where you can put multiple points into different talents to increase the strength of certain abilities or add different effects to abilities. That was a lot of fun to me because I felt like I was tweaking my character to maximize my damage/healing/whatever. I like having a ton of small choices rather than a few big choices when it comes to customizing my character. It makes me feel more unique.

I am really looking forward to seeing the Tomb Sargeras! I think that is going to be an amazing place. I hope we get to see some sort of reference to the runes that show Gul'dan's trip to the tomb.

I only started playing at the end of BC but the best thing from the past was druid flying form couldn't get over how awesome it was.

As a lore nerd and a big PvPer I can honestly say I can't wait for Legion.

I'm looking forward to all the new lore in the new zones as well as the new PvP system to make it more even and skill based rather than gear based.

Also looking forward to play my fury warrior in legion, Bring on the new awesome animations and sound effects!

I'm looking forward to try the new disci priest: an hybrid healing/dps role (not class) is a completely new addition to the WoW classic "holy trinity", and I'm very curious to see how it will play out, both in solo and in group/raid content.

I'm so exited to see the Affinity for Droods!

This can be realy fun! I hope they let them as fun as it looks now!

I will go testing my Drood on Beta, and bring the info in to the german Forums

My best Moment in past..

I was new in early Classic, so BC came out when I was lvl 55

With 58 I was walking threw the dark portal and the impressions were amazing!!!

The fliing rockets, the Moon and Planers in the sky, that was so epic!

Looking forward to the story which has been a huge draw to the game for me since i started played right before WotLK. i think the artifact weapon idea is a great way to keep everyone engaged at end game, not just the top tier raiders. probably the best part of the game for me in the past was when i first started and did not understand the game and was making a royal ass of myself with mismatched gear and having no idea what i was doing and it was great to have a community that mainly tried to help and explain what i needed and how to play that really kept me playing the game. it is situations like that which i think make this game great is that there are people who don't just shun the new players who actually want to learn.

I'm excited about a lot of things in legion, from the new zones, lore, and raids. I've played wow for a few years now and every expantion gets me excited, but the class changes they're adding seem different and look like they give you more choice on how you want to play the spec/class. I'm really looking forward to legion I think (from what I've seen so far) it has a ton of content, the raid bosses look fun and challenging, and the new profession system is something I can get into.

The most important thing I'm looking forward to is, getting lost in the zone, with WoDs treasure finding addition it almost rewarded my constant "oh look over here there's fish in the water" or something along those lines. The graphics and time blizzard puts into their zones show and I can't wait to explore every inch of it (and probably fall off a mountain or two).

I really like that they're focusing on the class fantasies, giving you the feeling that you are your class. I like the artifact weapons mostly because of their own talent tree, which I hoped had several different trees, giving multiple choices instead of having all the abilities in the tree. The new pvp system looks really neat as well giving developers a way to balance PvE and PvP separately. However I do not agree with Blizzard's decision on pruning many of the abilites in the game, or making them brainless passives. I think it lowers the skillcap and makes you feel less badass. Having multiple bars full of diverse spells really did make you feel powerful, as opposed to having one or two bars full, and only using 4-6 abilities. I also hope that Blizzard has learned from WoD and try to understand what they succeeded with and what went wrong. I think that the majority of players liked the leveling experience from 90-100, and thought that the raids in end-game were well designed. The PvP that was handed to us in WoD was not as well received by the players. I have never seen/heard anyone say that they enjoyed Ashran or the slow paced PvP, so hopefully Blizzard will take those things into consideration and make the best expansion yet!

I'd really like to participate in this beta, legion looks really promising so far, things i'm most excited for are the amount of cool artifact weapons you can collect, another good expansion of raiding, and even the new pvp system, although im not much of a pvper, hopefully this will get me back into it!

Well as for me I am excited for Legion, mostly because of the lack of content in the current Live version of the game.

I am excited for: New Animations (makes the game feel fresh)

Demon Hunters (awesome new HERO class)

                            Story (I'm a lore nerd)

Artifacts (While I dont like getting the Ashbringer, the other weapons seem cool)

New PvP system (Ever since Mists of Pandaria the PvP got too hard                                                           to get into for a PvE focused player, I hope the                                                                 changes will bring back the fun I had while playing PvP in WotlK)

While all these things look absolutely amazing and I really hope they will live up to my expectations, there are also some things that worry me about the expansion and those would be:

The Endgame and the lack of content: With WoD these was very little to do after I got to level 100 and was done with Highmaul and later the Blackrock Foundry, not to mention that 5.1 had almost nothing in it.

The content cuts: Remember Farahlon, capital cities, Tanaan on release? Yeah I do, and the content cuts completely removed these and put back Tanaan to 5.2, we are already seeing some of this with Thal'Dranath being removed and ''set back to be in a content patch'', I just hope it will actually happen, I don't want another Farahlon.

And finally, the length of the expansion: I really do not want the WoD situation again, only 2 content patches with only 1 having actual content? That is very dissapointing from Blizzard and I hope that with this expansion we will go back to the ''Mists of Pandaria'' content patches where I absolutely loved 5.2 and 5.1 wasn't that bad either, and most importantly it had 4! content patches that had actual content in them (not like 6.1 which seemed like a 6.0.5), I really, really, really hope that they go back to those days.

Well and that would be about everything that I think about the Legion expansion so far, I haven't had a chance to play it myself so many of these opinions come from reading articles around the internet, I would love to get a key and would love you for it.

Thanks for reading, and congratz on the anniversary!

I excited for Legion because personally I have been a wow player since the original BETA over 11 years ago.   I did take a 2 year break when cata was released.  Prior to this and after this I have been an avid player.     My main character ocukace, has 75days played at level 100, and I also have 7 other characters at level 100, with between 5 and 20 days played each.     Legion for me is really exciting, and it brings new exciting stuff to Wow.    I love the fact that my son who is now 12 years old, also plays with me, and I have even convinced my wife to join us, but she plays less often.     But for me it is a family hobby now and we all raid together in our guild.

I would love to be able to show my family the new Legion prior to final release as it is soemthing we can play/test between us.

I am really excited to see the new class changes. The animations look amazing thus far. I have always had lots of alts at max level and enjoyed learning how to play them all well. My fondest memories are in WOLK and playing with my friends, that I still have today, in ulduar and TOC.

Really excited to see what is next in the world of Warcraft.

Honestly, I'm looking forward to playing a Demon Hunter with my husband. There's not much that we actually do together besides playing WoW. Not to mention that demon's and the such have been a sort of obsession of mine since I can remember. I mean it's great to play my Warlock, I love her. But a Demon Hunter just sounds like it's going to be a lot of fun. I hope it's at least a little similar to what I grew up reading about them. Even if it's not, just to be able to play Demon Hunter's with my husband is going to be a lot of fun for me.

One of my fondest memories of playing WoW was when I first started playing back in high school. I was playing with my brother and a friend of his and it was the first time I ever went to Goldshire and went into the Lion's Pride Inn. Because it was my first time I decided to explore every room and when I went into the kitchen I found the Butcher. I was so excited to find a Butcher instead of Cook or Chef or something of the like that I shouted out loud, "Hey Look, A Butcher!" My brother and his friend just started laughing. It wasn't until the next day that I realized they were laughing AT me, but it didn't bother me because I was still pretty stoked about finding the Butcher.

But there's not just one thing I'm excited about! I can't wait to make a demon hunter, I can't wait to find out more about what's happened to Vol'jin and Varian and what kind of king Anduin is going to be. I can't wait to start the artifact quests and try the new Rogue spec! I feel like a five-year old at Christmas! (Besides, I NEED a beta key so I can tease and taunt my kid with it. :-D )

I really look forward to the artifact system, adding new flavour to the classes. I also look forward to the new animations for the specs, both melee and ranged, together with all the various new graphical upates. The fact that WoW: Legion is going to look like a game should in 2016 makes me very excited. As for something I enjoyed about WoW in the past: I really miss the kind of community that the realms had back in the days. Having to actually seek out other people in order to accomplish even the most mundane of tasks was annoying, but it helped actually having that MMO-feel to the game. In all honesty I whouldn´t play the game like that again if I got the opputunity, but it´s still a fond memory of mine.

Well, somehow i always get hyped for new expansions but after cata, mop and wod i got disapointments. Never stopped playing wow so far while my friends did even if i got bored so much. This expansion made me hype sooooo much. This expansion is huge. Three things got my hearth. First of all artifact system. I am retri pala so ASHBRINGEER. 2-3 months ago i made an article that i wanted corrupted ashbringer on battle.net. Second new pvp system. I didn't understand quite well this system. What will happen to conquest gear? Will it all be strongboxes ? So as far as i understood there is a chace to get the same item always. Well anyway it is better than current system. Lastly i loved transmog system. I loved it in diablo and it is even better in wow. Of course other system seems good but time will time everything. So i am really hyped at the moment. Hope i will have a chance to test it in beta. So sorry readers for my bad grammar :(((

Today, we release our Path of Exile site. It is not entirely finished yet, but the content is there and we felt comfortable sharing it with Path of Exile players from our current audience.
This is a project that we have been working on for quite some time (so nothing to do with the recent Diablo announcements or lack thereof). We developed a CMS from the ground up, using our many years of experience with Icy Veins as a basis for the various features we required on the publishing side of the site. We also added things such as a proper item database or a dev tracker. These are things we can't have on Icy Veins, because the tech the site is running on would not permit it. Hopefully, one day we can run Icy Veins on our new tech and do all these things, if we feel like it.
As I was saying above, the site is not 100% ready, but it is very close in terms of features. We worked hard in the past two weeks to fix all major bugs, so that end users can have a smooth experience, and we have enough content to cover the currently most popular builds. So we are waiting for your feedback!

Currently you will find the following things on the site: guides and news for Path of Exile, an item database (still missing out a couple of base items), a dev tracker (Official Forums + Twitter + Reddit), and of course forums where people can discuss about that game.
Our guide offering is currently as follows:
Triple Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist Build Arc Mines Saboteur Build Guide Glacial Cascade Mines Saboteur Build Guide Ancestral Warchief Ascendant Build Guide Ascendant Hit Elemental Build Guide Aurabot Ascendant, 8 Auras Build Guide The Cleave Ascendant Build Guide Herald of Agony Occultist Build Guide Frostbolt/Glacial Cascade Totems Hierophant Build Guide Uber Labyrinth Farmer Juggernaut Build Guide Rain of Arrows Deadeye Build Guide Tornado Shot Deadeye Build Guide The Baron Zombies/Skeletons Necromancer Build Guide Toxic Rain Pathfinder Build Blade Flurry Gladiator Build Guide Spectral Throw Raider Build Guide Cyclone Slayer Build Guide We also have a beginner guide for fresh exiles.
With all that said, we're hoping to see you on that new website and are looking forward to your comments!
Please welcome our newest website on Path of Exile!
