Gold Making: Noblegarden

Recommended Posts

The seasonal Easter event only lasts for one week, and it's a great chance to make some gold whether you enjoy farming or flipping!  Learn how to maximise your earning potential both during and after Noblegarden.

Introduction

The intention of this guide is to help you earn gold both during and after the event.  If you would like a comprehensive guide on the event itself and the associated items and achievements then check out our full guide HERE.

Important things to note:

The following items are trade-able:

There are other items that can be purchased from the vendor that are Bind on Pickup so do not make the mistake of purchasing things such as inv_misc_herb_rainpoppy.jpgMystical Spring Bouquet (a non trade-able non combat pet) to resell!

As with many events players generally pay for items that with help them towards an achievement or give them some form of vanity reward (such as a mount or companion pet).

Clothing

The clothing items are required for the two achievements

inv_shirt_08.jpgSunday's Finest
inv_chest_cloth_04.jpgDressed for the Occasion.

As outlined in our guide you must LOOT these items from the eggs themselves to gain the achievement.  This means there is little resale value.  However there will always be players that mis-read the achievement and feel they can complete it just through purchasing the item from the auction house.
For this reason there is a small opportunity to make some gold perhaps in the first few days of the event as new players rush to try and complete the achievements.
Personally I don't resell many of these items.  The return is fairly low unless you get lucky and have the only items on your auction house.

Do not waste any of your achievement_noblegarden_chocolate_egg.jpNoblegarden Chocolate purchasing these items.

Companion pets

inv_gauntlets_02.jpgSpring Rabbit's Foot has a small chance (around 0.5%) to be contained in a inv_egg_06.jpgBrightly Colored Egg.

They can also be purchased at the vendor for 100 achievement_noblegarden_chocolate_egg.jpNoblegarden Chocolate.  Just like the clothing items, I recommend that you do not spend any of your chocolate eggs on the pet itself.

Throughout the event the price will drop dramatically and I have seen them trade for as little as 1g in previous years.
If you still have any available from previous events, or you are lucky to loot one within the first few days then you may see a decent return from the auction house if you post them early but this will depend on your server.

Sadly they are far too common and offer very little as a regular battle pet / companion pet that isn't widely available already (it has the same ability set as other rabbits).

As with any pet, there is improved opportunity for gold if you manage to upgrade the pet to rare quality and level it to 25. Prices generally range from 1k to 6k depending on your region and server.

Remember that inv_misc_herb_rainpoppy.jpgMystical Spring Bouquet is NOT trade-able.

The Swift Springstrider

Like most other seasonal events the mounts included in them can be very lucrative. For Noblegarden in particular the ability_hunter_pet_tallstrider.jpgSwift Springstrider is your best chance at making gold from the event.

There are three ways to obtain a mount:

As the event only lasts a week you may find it difficult to farm 500 chocolate eggs if your play time is limited in any way.

Ensure you are farming efficiently and where possible:

  • Use an inv_misc_easterbasket.jpgEgg Basket and set your environmental detail to low as mentioned in our guide.
  • Farming at off peak hours and in less common zones such as Mulgore / Exodar may reduce competition.
  • Be realistic with your farming time.  As there are few items to purchase other than the mount you do not want to finish the event on 750 eggs for example.  If you don't think you will gather enough to gain your next 500 and your next mount then it is better to stop and do something entirely different with your game time.

Selling your mounts for maximum profit can be tricky. Even if you have no intention of purchasing mounts to resell, i recommend that you read the section below. It may give you insight into timing your own sales. Remember it is relatively easy to sell them during the event, so if you are after a "quick" sale then ensure you do it during the week or not long after. Although you have a small chance to drop a mount from the eggs themselves do not farm with the intention of receiving one. Consider it a "bonus" if you do obtain one this way.

Buying/Flipping mounts
Buying items to resell (also known as flipping) can be an easy way to obtain a profit and can be done from the comfort of your own auction house. I will be producing a guide on Flipping in the near future but here are a few things to consider in the mean time:

  • It requires a gold investment that can sometimes be high risk
  • It may take a long time to sell so patience is needed
  • Seasonal items are commonly flipped so high competition is to be expected

As with all time sensitive events there is generally a cycle of how items are posted on the auction house. Timing your purchase correctly will yield in a greater profit, or help improve your chances of a resale. Although I cannot predict your own personal servers numbers, here is a general outline of how seasonal markets tend to work. (Note: This is meant in general terms and will depend on your realm population and various other factors such as how many players are both farming or flipping).

  • Players who have items from previous events or gain an item early tend to set a high price
  • This price will fluctuate over the first few days
  • Prices generally normalize towards the middle of the event
  • As the event comes to an end prices are generally at their lowest
  • Close to the event ending and just after the event finishes players may try and purchase high volumes

One important thing to note. As there is very little to do in game right now and even less to spend your gold on, a large number of players may be willing to farm for mounts or are trying their hand at flipping certain items (this may even be you!). You are never sure of the true number of items on your server.  Invest at your own risk!

I will try and explain through a quick example. Lets assume there are 10 mounts in total on your auction house ranging from 18k-24k. Player A decides to buy all of them out in the hope of relisting them and monopolizing the market (thinking they have bought them all). Player A relists one or two mounts at 40k just to find Players B, C and D have another 15 mounts each waiting to resell and push the price back down to ~20k.

I am not discounting this method entirely, just be aware you will need large quantities of gold and a lot of patience if you truly wish to monopolize the market. When and at what price you wish to sell your mounts will depend on your mentality and possibly the amount of gold you currently have.  Do you like high turnover or prefer to wait for maximum profit?  Are you just looking for a quick sale to get some gold towards your next wow_token01.jpgWoW Token?

Again I cannot predict your own gold needs and wants so the decision is ultimately yours.
It is entirely feasible to buy and resell a large volume of mounts during the event itself. You may even wish to hold your entire stock until Legion is released.  There are potentially thousands of returning / new players who will be playing during Legion and with it comes a new mount collecting achievement. Some players (myself included) are doing just that, and with the Warcraft movie also being released soon there are possibly more new players coming to the game (although their desire for a seasonal strider mount is debatable).

Experience can play a big part in how you flip items, so if you are unsure, play it safe. Don't buy too many items and just be patient!

Remember

  • Never over-invest
  • Do not assume you have a monopoly just because you buyout the entire auction house
  • Try and get a feel for how prices are changing
  • Patience will yield the greater profit

I hope you enjoyed this guide to gold making for Noblegarden.  I plan on releasing similar guides for all of the seasonal events, and they will be updated yearly to include any new items or new gold making opportunities. As always if you have any successes then please feel free to share below!

Just a quick update:

There are no new items to trade for 2016.

It took me just over an hour of fairly intensive farming to get my 500 eggs. I am the first on my server with the mount so I have managed to set a hopefully high price.

Let me know if you get lucky!

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
