I'll be going paladin once Legion rolls around. Ashebringer is just too awesome!

My favorite npc is the Lich King by far. The first expansion I ever played and the first expansion boss I ever beat.

Always was and always will be. And of course a Fury. Sadly i'm not a big fan of TG, just like the fast hitting Berserker more. Give me two 1h axes and go crazy.I would love to see Varian as a follower, but yeah. sad times

I will be maining (at least initially) my longtime Draenei Shaman, created during TBC.  Will also be going back to Enhancement because Doomhammer. Call me predictable but I look forward to seeing Thrall in my class order hall.  I've been a fan since the Warcraft 3 days, and he's been such an integral part of the game's lore all this time

I will main the Rogue class in Legion, as I did in WoD. It took me years to find the right class for me and now I have done it. Legion will bring clear diversity between the specs which makes it even more appealing than it already is. So far I am really into the class fantasy Blizzard Presents. As for an NPC, I always found Elling Trias a hillarious Rogue NPC. He is part of the SI:7 Assassins in Stormwind but has the title . What is great about him is that this is his disguise and he is an actual vendor.  Ontop of that he has a Copper Coin which you can fish from the fountain in Dalaran

Affliction specifically as I love the playstyle (strategically and methodically damaging enemies).  The NPC I've always fantasised about returning would be Kanrethad in some kind of redemption storyline to bring him into the fold against the Legion.  Warlocks are all about utilising the magic of the enemy against them, and Kanrethad was breaking new ground in that regard with green fire (green fire, Metamorphosis).  Not sure how the latter will fit in with the retconned class design, but I'm sure they could think of something.

I'll probably be maining a Demon Hunter in legion because. I really want to see how much stuff in the old world you can get to without flying now that double jumping is a thing now. From what I've been seeing in the Alpha, the specs aren't too boring either.  As for NPCs, the obvious one is Illidan for DHs, but just like the Lich King, I doubt Blizz will ever make him our 'Mograine.' I'd like to see Loramus Thalipedes back in the game just because he was one of the only demon hunters in the game that felt like his main focus was to hunt demons and kill them. Everyone else mostly just does what they were doing before, but now as a demon hunter. So, yes, I want to actually track down and hunt demons as a demon hunter. lol

What do we say when we are offered a chance to win Legion Beta keys? Not t... Yes, please!

20739-icy-veins-giveaway-part-2-win-100-

To all of our readers: the moment you have been waiting for is here! The second part of our special Legion Beta key giveaway is here. We have 100 keys up for grabs and all you have to do is... read on and find out!

Our first Legion Beta key giveaway coincided with Icy Veins' 5th birthday. Your response then was amazing and it was great to see what people are looking forward to for the sixth expansion of World of Warcraft - the game that inspired the creation of this site.

Our 5th anniversary may be behind, but we want to turn this giveaway into an Icy Veins celebration as well. As you may or may not have noticed, our site is on a transitional period. We have already changed our main page and our logo; we launched a Discord server; we have recruited a community manager, Blainie, and we have some amazing guide and news writers. Soon, our forums will receive a major makeover too!

We said in the previous giveaway that community is important to us. The present giveaway might have been the reason that led you to our site, but we would be delighted if you stayed a little longer! Apart from the various changes that will come soon, we would definitely like to create a vibrant Icy Veins family - both in the forums and in(game) the various Blizzard titles our site covers. Your comments, feedback, analyses and opinions matter! In return and with your help, we can keep creating content that will make you stick around more.

Represent your class and win a Legion Beta key!

You might have noticed a poll in the beginning of this article and as you've already guessed, it's tied to our question for this second giveaway. Last time, we asked you to expand on your opinions and expectations on Legion. For the present 100 Legion Beta Keys, we require something more specific.

Legion is all about class identity. Your main hub for this expansion will be your Class Order Hall, where you will be the leader of your class order into the fight against the Burning Legion. Even specialisations within the same class will be quite distinctive from one another and most specs are receiving major changes.

We have two questions for you or - if you'd like - a two-part question. We would like to know which class will be your main one in Legion or, if you are new to the game, which class you are planning on creating first. Moreover, we would like to know which is your favourite class NPC. Various famous NPCs are already present in the respective Order Hall, but which one would you like to see in your class' headquarters?

It's not just a poll...

When we announce the winners of this giveaway, we will provide you with a graph of the results of this poll. Think about it as a small-scale census: won't it be interesting to know which will be the most popular (or the opposite) classes in Legion? We will only take into consideration the votes in the poll, so we urge you to vote in it. You will also have to leave a comment in this topic to be included in the giveaway.

We will also take up the daunting task of reading through your replies in the search of which class NPC is the true star among the fanbase's hearts. We will try to make a second graph or announce the results of the class NPC popularity contest as well.

We don't expect the results to reflect reality 100% and we are just doing this for the fun of it. However, you should still tell every WoW player you know to take part in our poll and giveaway, since a bigger sample will mean more accurate results. And don't worry: our winners are chosen randomly and not depending on which class comes first.

Rules

Make sure to read the following rules, before you participate:

  • While voting in the poll is encouraged to help us with our data gathering, it is not necessary. You must however provide a relevant reply in this topic, detailing your class pick and your favourite class NPC.
  • The giveaway will end on Tuesday 17th of May at 23:59 GMT.
  • Only one comment will be counted per person.
  • The winner will be drawn randomly from all the comments that are deemed "acceptable".
  • It is at our discretion which comments will be deemed acceptable, based on the extent to which they stay relevant to this article.
  • We will not release the dates on which the keys will be released, as Blizzard have requested us not to do so.
  • The comments section will be checked via a bot used in previous giveaways, so multiple comments will be found.
  • We have tools to detect cheating, so please don't bother.
  • We reserve the right to stop anyone competing if we believe they are cheating.
  • We understand class rivalry can get a little intense. Please keep it civil in this topic; anyone who starts flaming or trolling will not be considered as a participant.

Good luck to everyone and let's see some class pride!

Shammies ftw! Playing resto for this entire expac and I gotta tell ya, haven't had more fun with a class than I've had with my shammy. I don't know if I like the fact that they've barely changed or not, but I'm sure I'll be glad with whatever Legion gives me!

I would love to see Azshara on my order hall. Fine, fine, she's evil, but oh well, still a dream :P

Rolled Warrior in Vanilla and it's been my favorite ever since, so Warrior for Legion. My favorit NPC would be Blackhand since he was simply the destroyer of guilds lol.

My main class in Legion will most likely be the Death Knight. The Frost spec looks crazy good in terms of combat, but also Unholy's new class fantasy and artifact is looking great as well. He has a rich and emotional backstory, and he was key in helping the Death Knights splinter for Arthas's control. He's going to be a central part of our class hall and quests, so that's going to be awesome

My main class will be warrior, specifically PROT WARRIOR (for life).  I'd love to see Grom Hellscream risen from the dead in my class hall giving me advice over a beer

I will reroll to Demon Hunter. Just recently I read the book Illidan and I simply love this class. Their struggle, training and transformation. As for NPC? I wish I could see Illidan ofcourse. Why? Cause he is one of the most complicated characters in WoW universe. We viewed him as a "bad guy" but now it is not that obvious. I wouldn't like him as a follower though. Just simply quest giver or someone who helps us in the fight with Legion.

My main is going to be Death Knight. Have never mained a Death Knight, but with the runes becoming easier to understand (my problem previously being i didn't know what i was spamming), it is a huge contender, and blood dk in particular because in legion i am going to be tanking mostly. My feral druid in WOD is becoming a Guardian Druid in legion as, yet again. Preach gaming and Heelsvsbabyface gave their views and blood dk and guardian druid are my contenders, but as i am new to dk basically, it is what i voted for maining in legion. Also, WHO DOESN'T WANT TO SEE LICH KING AGAIN?. The badass evil guy <3

My main has been and will always be my Demonology/Destruction Warlock. I'm really looking forward to the changes they're making to demonology, it'll feel like the class it used to be again!

As for the NPC, I'd like to somehow see Kanrethad Ebonlocke in the class hall, or at least him and his jailor, Jubeka Shadowbreaker, as a warning to other warlocks for what can happen if you go too far down the rabbit hole.

On a side note, I'd like to see if Maiev Shadowsong will come back. The hunt continues!

Sticking with my Hunter and trying not be pessimistic about the changes. Does Sylvanas still count as a hunter? No? She could hang out in the hunters lodge I'm sure that would be right up her alley.

My main class in Legion will be Rogue. New spec Outlaw are awesome. I will become Pirate King  . I hope that new changes in all specs can do gameplay more varuous. We can play all specs and no one will not be similar to the other. My lovely NPC is Edwin Van Cleef. I want him to help us in the fight with Legion.

I am going to play Demon Hunter, because I am big fan of Illidan. Moreover, I was playing night elf rogue as a main that was looking like a demon hunter, and farmed Warglaives and Cursed Vision of Sargeras just because of that. As I stated before Illidan is my favorite NPC, and I would like to see him in my Class Hall

Well, it's a tough choice, but I would have to go with my old standby of Hunter, as that has been my main for the last 3 expansions.  I have really just enjoyed the way it has played, and Melee Survival is something I am eager to try. As to the NPC, I would have to go with Nessingway, simply because I always loved his "murder billions of those animals" quests for how straight forward they were.  Thy chickened out of doing those quests in Draenor, here's hoping we get a new set of them

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
