Legion has really shaken up my view of a lot of classes, but I'm leaning toward sticking to the class I've mained since TBC: Warlock. Hate what they did to destro, but love the new demo. My favorite warlock NPC, discounting villains, would be Wilfred Fizzlebang, Master Summoner. Mostly because there's really not a lot of other choices in the warlock NPC department unless you want to go down the villain side in which case it's Gul'Dan all the way.Wilfred would be great to have around in some form or another

I have been playing Warcraft since Warcraft 2.  In Warcraft 3 they introduced the Night Elves, and I was immediately interested.  The cultural feel and it's history felt very much like a home I could get behind, and the Druids of the Claw were my favorite units.  After WC3 the Night Elves were firmly in place as my favorite race.  When WoW Announced that the Night Elves and Druids were an option I was immediately motivated.  I got into WoW Beta and created a NE Druid to check it out and felt at home.  On Launch Day, I created the NE Druid that has been my "Main" character ever since.  I endured the crappy launch version of the Druid, "Suicide Kitty" form, weak bear form, pigeon-holed healer role (all our raid sets were healer sets in Vanilla).  I was there arguing on the Forums to "fix" the bear form.  I happily pioneered Tanking in AQ20 and AQ40, once the patched made it viable. I have Alts, they all serve as fun alternatives, but mostly Profession feeders for my Druid.  A Mage Tailor to make my Druid bags, a Priest Alchemist to make my Druid Potions, a Shaman Jewelcrafter to make my Druid Gems, etc.  Over the years I've come up with back stories for my various Alts, The mage is my Druids Daughter.  The Death Knight is my Druids Bodyguard, etc. My Druid is my Main in Legion, as he has been throughout World of Warcraft's history, and Malfurion Stormrage is my Druids favorite NPC, with Ysera and Cenarius, as close seconds.  I know they are all involved in major storylines, and I know I'm in for a sad tale with some, but I'm looking forward to seeing those stories through. That said, my second favorite Night Elf NPC, and class was Malfurion's Twin, Illidan Stormrage.  I have also longed to see more Demon Hunters, and even play one.  Legion finally gives me that. I'll be Rolling a Demon Hunter at Launch.  I've already reserved the name he'll have on my server.  I'll enjoy playing him in the early release, and he'll be my second 110 in Legion.  After he gets out of the starting area, he will be given a break until I do everything I want with my Druid to 110.  I'm hoping to eventually see Illidan make an appearance on the Hammer.  After reading the Novel "Illidan" I'm looking forward to the DH story arc.  Druid Main in Legion with Malfurion, in my Class Hall.  I'm looking forward to the former, I'm not betting on the latter. lol See you in Legion.

Although destro lock seems to get completely changed (again) in Legion, it remains the most fun spec in the game. My favorite NPC has got to be Kanrethad Ebonlocke at this point, not only was the green fire quest a lot of fun to do lorewise, but beating him after probably 500 tries in 5.2 gave me a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time

My chosen class is Death Knight. It fits my personality and playstyle. I am very upset about the removal of BREATH OF SINDRAGOSA from the Blood spec. My favorite Death Knight lore character is Arthas. Since he's dead, though, and we won't see him in our class halls, another paladin convert to the deathknights would be dank. Take away the paladins' greatest leader and make him a servant of the undead.

I will continue to play my Enhancement Shaman, it's the only class/spec I've never really gotten bored with since WotLK, and it's always the first character I level at the start of each expansion or do achievements with.

An NPC I would like to see in my class order hall in Legion is Muln Earthfury, the leader of the Earthen Ring. Or Melgromm Highmountain, the Tauren Shaman who fought at the entrance of the Dark Portal in TBC, I always thought he was awesome.

My main class will continue to be Hunter.

NPC choice? There can be only one: Hemet Nesingwary!

Ever since Wrath of the Lich King was released, Death Knight has been my main and I think I'm going to keep it that way in Legion. With so much game time logged on him, I just can't imagine switching to something else. I haven't yet decided what spec I'm going to go with, but since my dk is currently unholy, I suppose that's what I'll be trying out first. Maybe a little time in beta will change my mind. ^_- The npc I want to see most in the dk order hall, excluding Bolvar because I'm sure that's asking too much, would be Mograine. I feel like Darian hasn't had a whole lot of time in the spotlight, as he's mostly absent from the story except for the dk starter zone. So it would be pretty cool to see him more involved with the story in Legion

To be honest, I am torn as to which will be my main class in Legion. My BM Hunter was my main all through out WoD and is my first ever created toon. I also have a soft spot for Feral Druids and love love love all the possible kitteh forms to choose from. To help me truly decide, I will play both specs heavily at the beginning of Legion until I truly make-up my mind. As for a fav class NPC, I am still relatively new to WoW and there is a lot of lore to take in. I've only just scratched the surface to be honest. We both have something in common, a love of animals

My main class will be a Marksmanship Hunter cause i love the class and spec with bow and arrow.

The one NPC i'd like to see in my class headquarter is Ayanna Everstride cause she was the first hunter trainer that learned me the basics of being an hunter.

After nearly 13 years of playing a rogue, I think I'm switching my main to a shaman in Legion. Rogue has been stagnant for far too long, and with the addition of another leather wearing melee class, it makes my rogue even less enticing.

On that note, the obvious shaman choice is Thrall :)

I will most likely play the Death Knight as I did since day 1 of Wrath. I wish frost was still able to be 2h spec, but I'll have to deal with it and play unholy and smack everyone with blighted blade in their face, muahahaha.

I'll be maining my Shadow Priest. I've been playing shadow since cata and the rework of the spec in legion is making me so excited for legion. I can't wait to try it out myself. i'm not entirely sure. I'd love to see someone new tied to the shadow priests. Shadow hasn't seen much lore before legion so i'm just excite to see what happens now that we're "void priests"

What do we say when we are offered a chance to win Legion Beta keys? Not t... Yes, please!

20739-icy-veins-giveaway-part-2-win-100-

To all of our readers: the moment you have been waiting for is here! The second part of our special Legion Beta key giveaway is here. We have 100 keys up for grabs and all you have to do is... read on and find out!

Our first Legion Beta key giveaway coincided with Icy Veins' 5th birthday. Your response then was amazing and it was great to see what people are looking forward to for the sixth expansion of World of Warcraft - the game that inspired the creation of this site.

Our 5th anniversary may be behind, but we want to turn this giveaway into an Icy Veins celebration as well. As you may or may not have noticed, our site is on a transitional period. We have already changed our main page and our logo; we launched a Discord server; we have recruited a community manager, Blainie, and we have some amazing guide and news writers. Soon, our forums will receive a major makeover too!

We said in the previous giveaway that community is important to us. The present giveaway might have been the reason that led you to our site, but we would be delighted if you stayed a little longer! Apart from the various changes that will come soon, we would definitely like to create a vibrant Icy Veins family - both in the forums and in(game) the various Blizzard titles our site covers. Your comments, feedback, analyses and opinions matter! In return and with your help, we can keep creating content that will make you stick around more.

Represent your class and win a Legion Beta key!

You might have noticed a poll in the beginning of this article and as you've already guessed, it's tied to our question for this second giveaway. Last time, we asked you to expand on your opinions and expectations on Legion. For the present 100 Legion Beta Keys, we require something more specific.

Legion is all about class identity. Your main hub for this expansion will be your Class Order Hall, where you will be the leader of your class order into the fight against the Burning Legion. Even specialisations within the same class will be quite distinctive from one another and most specs are receiving major changes.

We have two questions for you or - if you'd like - a two-part question. We would like to know which class will be your main one in Legion or, if you are new to the game, which class you are planning on creating first. Moreover, we would like to know which is your favourite class NPC. Various famous NPCs are already present in the respective Order Hall, but which one would you like to see in your class' headquarters?

It's not just a poll...

When we announce the winners of this giveaway, we will provide you with a graph of the results of this poll. Think about it as a small-scale census: won't it be interesting to know which will be the most popular (or the opposite) classes in Legion? We will only take into consideration the votes in the poll, so we urge you to vote in it. You will also have to leave a comment in this topic to be included in the giveaway.

We will also take up the daunting task of reading through your replies in the search of which class NPC is the true star among the fanbase's hearts. We will try to make a second graph or announce the results of the class NPC popularity contest as well.

We don't expect the results to reflect reality 100% and we are just doing this for the fun of it. However, you should still tell every WoW player you know to take part in our poll and giveaway, since a bigger sample will mean more accurate results. And don't worry: our winners are chosen randomly and not depending on which class comes first.

Rules

Make sure to read the following rules, before you participate:

  • While voting in the poll is encouraged to help us with our data gathering, it is not necessary. You must however provide a relevant reply in this topic, detailing your class pick and your favourite class NPC.
  • The giveaway will end on Tuesday 17th of May at 23:59 GMT.
  • Only one comment will be counted per person.
  • The winner will be drawn randomly from all the comments that are deemed "acceptable".
  • It is at our discretion which comments will be deemed acceptable, based on the extent to which they stay relevant to this article.
  • We will not release the dates on which the keys will be released, as Blizzard have requested us not to do so.
  • The comments section will be checked via a bot used in previous giveaways, so multiple comments will be found.
  • We have tools to detect cheating, so please don't bother.
  • We reserve the right to stop anyone competing if we believe they are cheating.
  • We understand class rivalry can get a little intense. Please keep it civil in this topic; anyone who starts flaming or trolling will not be considered as a participant.

Good luck to everyone and let's see some class pride!

That must be Mist monk or Prot War

My favourite Rogue NPC is Taoshi from Mists of Pandaria's Shado-Pan faction. She inspired me to play a Pandaren Rogue and from what I've seen, she'll have a role in Legion

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
