I don't know, just throwing it out there to discuss about using Synergy or Service.

I would imagine that the biggest factor in the discussion, at least for the next few weeks, will be how 7.1.5 changes each talent. It's entirely possible one will get destroyed with nerfs or thrown up with buffs.

The guides are currently being updated for 7.1.5! I just wanted to leave a few notes for all of our users that might be getting ready to leave a comment:

  • Some pages do not require updates. The "Last Updated" stat does not mean the page is out of date, it might just not have needed any changes. If you feel that it does, leave a comment telling us what needs changing and why.
  • The process will not happen immediately - some guides will be updated faster than others simply due to the number of resources available. Be patient, they'll be ready when you need them!
  • There might be some continuity errors when making small adjustments to large guide pages. If you do find one of these, just let us know in the comments and we'll get it fixed ASAP.
  • "Why have you not taken into account X buff to X ability?" - remember, just because something got buffed, it doesn't mean it is now automatically better than the other options!

As always, we want to thank you all for being patient while we get things updated and I'm always available to help you all if you need it :)

I'm sorry but the demonology guide is not updated for 7.1.5. According to the patchnote, for example, "Grimoire of Synergy bonus damage is now 25% (was 40%). " and this has not been taken into account here.

Yes, it has ;)

Love the guide, but it looks like the mortal coil change wasn't put up

  • Mortal Coil healing is now 20% of maximum health (was 11%).
  • Mortal Coil now always heals you, regardless of whether the target is affected by the Horror.

Impending Doom is viable with Kazzak's, even a DPS increase in most cases.

I use Kazzak + Recurrent and it sims quite a bit higher than Improved Dreadstalkers.

Have you done sims Wild Imp vs. Doom since they changed the relic trait for doom to be more competitive?

It looks like this change is implemented in the Builds section - are you seeing this not being changed elsewhere?

This is mentioned in both the Builds & Talents and Legendaries section. IDoom is better with Kazzak's.

With 7.1.5 out what will be the ETA on new stat weights?

I believe Furty is working with the goal of prior to NH release. With everything that happened with the new/hidden changes, it meant that weights work got pushed back a fair amount. It also takes a lot more time than priority calculation. I think checking back after the weekend is probably the best thing to do.

Out of curiosity, how come the non-Lock specific legendaries aren't on the guide?  I know some aren't super useful, but I personally have the stun ring, and the haste bonus is huge on fights where you can stun adds(which is at least the first 4 bosses in Nighthold) as well as the boots that let you keep casting while moving, which were super lack luster pre-buff, but are fairly strong now(probably not on par with the better lock ones, but quite useful, especially on semi-frequent bursts of movement fights).

What I did was run AMR sim and went with those weights. for Demo Haste > Mastery, Affliction Mastery > Haste, and Destro Haste > Crit > Mastery seems to still be good

I think it's because they are generally just used as stat sticks and are basically always going to be used if you have them (given the 910-940 item level), whereas your actual BiS choices will require a bit more information and will normally concern the specific ones.

Will put it another note for Furty, sorry for the delay! I'm not sure how long it will take, as I believe he is going through progress currently in NH. Will get it done as soon as we can though, sorry once again!

I'd defintely suggest double checking and comparing your sims with SimC sims also. People seem to get very different results with the two tools.

Yeah, I think locks don't need stat weights really because there no cap we should stop with Haste like there is for Prot. So as a Demo if you just do Haste > Mastery> Crit you should be good. With the reworked Impending Doom Talent, I able to make Doom tick every 12 seconds, and gotten it down to 11.8 seconds. Faster Doom ticks more imps you can gain (only issue I seen is with Demonic Empowerment) as now you have to react to fast Doom ticks to make sure to instantly empower new imp with luck Doom will do double and you get two Imps.

I am sure once you have set bonus and can make DreadStalkers stay out 16 seconds, then ID talent will lose out again, but right now it seems to be kicking butt.

For Destro Haste > Crit

Affliction Master > Haste

doing that just stack all gear that has those stats and you should be good.

Yeah, there is a lack of interchanging stat priority, many of the melee have it and it does suck. Glad to see that things are working for you anyway!

What's the best piece to take of tier 19 if a demo lock has legendary shoulders? Chest or cape?

What would the best 4th piece to take be for the tier19 4piece bonus if you already have the legendary shoulders? Chest or cape?

No values are given for the stat weights on the Stat page although they can be deduced (except crit) from the calculation on the Gear/BiS page. Unless they're being updated, it seems icy stat weights for demon are:

Haste: 1.17

Intellect: 1

Versatility: 0.69

Mastery: 0.68

Crit: ?

This is rather different from the priority order on your stat pages so I imagine they're under review. Personally I found Not's guide on MMo absolutely fantastic with sims on for single or dual legendaries for 4 different builds (Doom vs Dreadstalkers and Synergy vs Service), relic effects, single vs multiple targets etc.

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
