If you have any more replays you aren't sure about, feel free to send them to us.

So I am wondering am I supposed to place this like face hunter or am I supposed to wait and control? face hunter seems to leave me too open as in this replay but playing control is useless absolutely useless because the average health of minions used by everyone is 4 or higher and hunter cannot possibly under any circumstances deal with that early. Like in mages they always use that stupid flamewalker and wreck the field with 1 cost spells making me unable to use kill command to kill them and quick shot does not do enough damage. I am almost to the point of giving up because I have tried and tried and I went from rank 11 to rank 15 now because of this hunter stuff. It is almost like hunter is too easily countered  even by other hunters. They always get first blood against me. Also as soon as i start playing secrets everyone stops playing spells. Like literally zero spells making my cat secrets useless.

In conclusion it feels like everyone and there mother knows how to counter and shut down hunter decks so easy that it is possible the worst deck in the meta at this point. I don't know maybe it is just me but I am going 10-24 with this deck at this point no matter how I adapt and change to meet the meta I am seeing. I don't understand this deck was winning a few days ago really well what changed?

Some analysis:

  • First mistake on turn 3 was not killing the totem. He knew that you had freezing trap down and didn't attack with the Totem Golem, which meant that he must have already had a plan to remove your FT and keep the TG on the board. You should have killed the Healing Totem.
  • Turn 4, you could have played it better. Animal Companion would have given you a better result in every case, regardless of what it rolled. Misha 4/4 that stops TG, Leokk that lets you trade into the TG and leave a 4/1 behind, Huffer that kills TG and lets you keep Huntress alive.
  • On that final turn of yours, having that 7/7 is super dangerous. I feel like you got slightly too greedy, pushed for the win and didn't think through what he COULD have had. Either trading or pushing with Animal Companion (pray for Huffer) and killing the 7/7 would have been better.

Some analysis:

  • Turn 4, why did you Barnes there? Bow would have been far better. You would have killed the 3/2, forced the Mana Wyrm back into his hand. This would have given you another charge on the bow too. With 1 Highmane and 1 Wolf in hand, the likelihood of an amazing draw is unlikely.
  • For the rest, he got lucky on the Cabalist's Arcane draw.

To add a few more misplays:

On turn 3 in the first replay - after you played the Eaglehorn bow you should not have gone face. Against shaman you want to be able to clear the board. You also should have played Animal Companion instead. If you got gotten Leokk, trading with Cloaked Huntress would be advantageous. If you got Huffer, you could have traded it into Totem Golem and then kill the Healing Totem. If you got Misha, he would have been forced to lose his board to clear it.

Again on turn 4, you should not have hit face with Eaglehorn Bow.

O turn 6 I believe you saw that trading into one of the totems (did not matter which one) would have saved you and possibly give you lethal for the next turn.

Replay 2:

Keeping Animal Companion while possibly throwing Barnes away would have been alright.

Using Eaglehorn Bow to clear the Mana Wyrm instead of Quick Shot would have been better as you would have saved your Quick Shot for possible Ethereal Conjurer (which did happen) or to refill your hand later, as you were slowly running out of cards. Again, hitting face was not really that good since tempo mage has many Eaglehorn Bow targets, such as Cult Sorcerer or Sorcerer's Apprentice.

So first of all thank you all for helping me out I have noticed an improvement in my abilities and decision making. I am now stuck between rank 11-10. I can get to ten but the problem is EVERYONE in ten is a shaman. EVERYONE! No matter what I do they are invincible to me. How do you plan when everytime they always get the same op hand. the 7/7 which is hard as balls for any hunter to deal with. and the rest is 1 or 2 cost damage spells. I just went against a shaman who had a spell for litterally every creature I played all game. Grandma wolf and cat in the hat are useless because they just use a 1 cost spell to nuke grandma then do the 2 cost 2 damage spell. No matter how much I waste my spells and weapons and creature attacks to clear the board and especially get rid of the stupid spell damage minions EVERY shaman has that stupid hero spell and of course like 10 different spell damage cards in their deck. Why are they so invincible and why does blizzard think its a good idea to buff them with the upcoming cards with the new expansion. If anything they should be nerfed HARD.

I dont mean to rage or anything like that but when a class is invincible to you and that is the only deck anyone will play because everyone is uncreative and doesn't want to try in order to beat people, (seriously a monkey could play shaman or even warrior in their sleep and win!) it makes me very frustrated. The main problem is health the max health any card in the entire hunter arsenal can get is 5 and that is the silvermane. Shamans and warriors deal 5 damage and have mana left over for another spell or creature or hero power as easily as taking a crap.

Should I keep trying to get to rank 5 or wait until the meta gets screwed up because it is impossible at this point?

Hunter's Mark could be useful with dealing with the 7/7s. If you are struggling with too much removal on their side, perhaps look into more stealth minions? Stranglethorn Tiger perhaps?

You should be able to have about 50/50 WR against shammy. What I saw was that your playstyle against aggro shaman was a bit too aggressive. Maybe reduce the aggressivity a big and focus a bit more on keeping a board.
If you really want to push for rank 5 before the season's end, you might want to switch to freeze mage or control warrior, though both decks are considered to be rather expensive. You could also consider running a tech card, just like Blainie recommended you to.

Sottle told me he'd put it on the top of his to-do list, and that he will try to upload it tomorrow.

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
