Zoo Warlock Deck List

Of course, this is the budget deck.  A lot of people don't have Leeroy. :)

I know this a budget deck but it is the budget version of the archetype that focuses on Doomguard as the primary finisher and I was mentioning the version I liked that runs Leeroy Jenkins.  Both decks were a little different in how they carried themselves. The post though was intended to raise awareness of the other versions at the time while stating that the deck in question was still a good deck. :P

I always find myself in a very bad position if opponent plays Doomsayer at turn 2. Most often the game is over for me at that point... Suggestions?

Crazed Alchemist is the perfect tech for that situation. He is also good against taunts and can also be used on your own minions to get a little extra damage.

And against shamans it becomes 2 mana 2\2, battlecry destroy a totem of your choice.

In Xixo’s version, is there anyway to swap Gul’dan in? I just pulled that card, and I really want to use it, but the other three decks available that use him I’ve had no luck with. I know it’s user error, though, and not the decks themselves.

I'm really enjoying having a Zoo now that actually contains a majority of demons!

That being said, how should I deal with the "Mage hunters"? I've lost every single game as Warlock vs. that thing...

I'm playing a lot the budget version of Zoo.

What I find is that if I try to play the control game by trading minions I end up loosing steam by mid game when the opponent drops big minions which I cannot remove anymore because I normally have the hand swarmed with 1-2 cost and little else that can effectively act as a removal (only 2 soulfires as a removal).

Any suggestion? Am I playing it wrong?

Thanks

The budget Zoo deck provided here is solid for a start but not really up to date. There are indeed more big dudes around these days maybe even more now with K&C, we will see.

I'm playing a totally different Zoo deck, got tired of the same stuff all the time, but maybe you can add 2x Bonemare they provide a lot of stats. Even if you are not doing well with them it's not a waste, they are just common and fit in other decks :)

Even in a Zoo deck the state of mind "everything must be cheap" is no longer viable, I guess. If the game goes on longer you will not win it by dropping an Abusive Sergeant on turn 15 :D

I'll have a look at some more efficient decks and see if I can make them :)

EDIT: although I'd like to have less of a pure aggro deck to be honest.

Thanks

Maybe Hooked Reaver is worth to try but I haven't tested it thoroughly yet.

It's a clunky card. If you can actually activate it on curve then you're probably getting (graphical description of sexual violence censored) so hard even a 7/7 taunt won't save you, and in the late game it's nice but not stellar. Insult to injury, Bloodreaver Gul'dan only brings it back as a 4/4.

As I said, I haven't tested it enough yet, but it's not totally correct what you say, with the new small demons you take more damage than before, I had a lot of games where my health was much lower than I was used to, in times before K&C, and it's definitely possible to get to low health fast while being ahead or even on board.

And you can drop the Hooked Reaver and follow up with the spellstone, hopefully upgraded to level 3 taking out an enemy minion and restoring a significant amount of health.

But if you throw it in you deck with any plan in mind, hoping it will work, then you are probably right :D

It's true that it is not the best target for Gul'dan but in a zoo you might summon it as a plain 4/4 instead of a 2/1 or a 3/2, looks fine for me then :)

Even if you go completely overboard on self-damaging minions, the best you can do is 12 damage for 6 mana (2 Librarians, 2 Imps un Homonculus) going into turn 4. Which means that to be down to 15 you're either playing someone who's disregarding the board yet hitting your face (Spell Hunter?); or more realistically you've had a bad start and you're getting your teeth punched in. Add to that 4 mana is where the big removals start to hit the board and you have a card that is in a weird position. Like its older "4 mana 7/7" brother, it can win you the game singlehandedly if both activated and uncontested and it can work as a finisher later in the game for Zoo where any cheap big minion is one more for the opponent to deal with, but overall it is a clunky card.

Amnesiac gets #1 with this demon zoo thing, meanwhile I get shot down by everything never leaving Rank 18 (Not legendary no).

List of things I've never won against with zoo because they out-aggro the sh!t of me:

Paladin aggro (lots of divine shield and buffed recruits)
Rogue aggro (Both Keleseth and Quest reks me everytime)
Hunter No minions (I just don't have any answer for this when they throw out 4 3/3 wolves in a turn)
Priest Dragons (The boardclear of 3damage at turn 4 is just stopping zoo right there and dragon potion just a few rounds after)

Not seen much else out there, seems to be without a doubt the popular stuff atm and I don't see any warlock deck matching them :/

I feel the same about warlock. He wasn't really great in previous meta and even though he got some nice and really good cards, they all get countered by the tools other classes got.

For zoo yes, but I think control warlock has great potential. Its weapon and legendary are niche maybe, but Voidlord is totally insane, with Possessed Lackey and Master Oakheart and of course Skull of the Man'ari. Then you just N'Zoth, the Corruptor to get like 2 back, then you Bloodreaver Gul'dan (which I think is the best DK in the game) to fill up your whole board with taunts, while getting a awesome hero power (think of it like both effects of Druid DK hero power in one)

I saw several vids which looked liked that and it felt totally boring :D

All this hiding behind taunts for ages ... I could play quest mage(and I would rather not), feels the same.

It is making Warlock extremely limited in potential though and the combos you're looking for require like a 10k dust deck so you won't even have any of that unless you're throwing money at the game or disenchant a ton cards that may or may not be useful in another meta further down the road.

As for me, don't have any Voidlord, don't have Oakheart or the Man'ari weapon and with like 300dust left after I crafted Patches due to wanting to go Zoo this round since I saw this deck reaching rank1 and assumed it would be viable but so far it's really not.

This in reference to Amnesiac's Rank One Legend Demon Zoo deck.

I'm looking for some ideas on replacement of the Southsea Captains and Patches since I don't have said Patches, any thoughts ?

This deck will be worse after rotation, but will it be unplayable or just bad?

Hearthstone is taking a bold step into the StarCraft universe with "Heroes of StarCraft: The Great Dark Beyond," a 49-card mini-set launching in January 2025.
Featuring iconic factions like Zerg, Protoss, and Terran, complete with legendary leaders Sarah Kerrigan, Artanis, Jim Raynor, this set blends StarCraft nostalgia with Hearthstone's gameplay.
Additionally, Arena Mode is getting a massive overhaul, introducing shorter Normal Arena runs and a high-stakes Underground Arena with a game matching "re-draft on loss" mechanic, giving you the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive, after you lose.
The year ahead promises 3 expansions, including the Emerald Dream's battle between Old Gods and Druids, a return to Un'Goro Crater, and a Chromie-led journey through alternate realities.

Hearthstone: Heroes of StarCraft – The Great Dark Beyond Mini-Set
Early next year, Hearthstone is going beyond Warcraft and into... Heroes of StarCraft! This special Mini-Set will have a whopping 49 new cards across three themed factions, which show what the StarCraft universe would look like in the Hearthstone Tavern. Each faction is made up of cards that can be used across multiple classes, including an iconic Hero card.
       Zerg
Death Knight, Demon Hunter, Hunter, and Warlock have joined the Zerg! Led by the formidable  Sarah Kerrigan, they will have aggressive cards that win the game by swarming the board.
       Protoss
Druid, Mage, Priest, and Rogue fight for the Protoss Empire. Led by the High Templar Artanis, they will have powerful, high-cost cards that are made cheaper throughout the game.
       Terran
Paladin, Shaman, and Warrior make up the Terran forces, led by the one and only Jim Raynor. They will command Battlecruisers—a special take on the Starship mechanic from The Great Dark Beyond.
The Mini-Set will feature a slew of StarCraft units which are sure to invoke nostalgia, as well as the Terran-armored Murloc, Grunty, and new, thematic music. You can chart a course for the Heroes of StarCraft Mini-Set, launching in January 2025! More announcements, details, and card reveals are coming closer to launch.
       Major Arena Updates
Then, for the first time in 10 years, Arena Mode is getting a major overhaul. With that update, there will be two kinds of Arena to choose from. Normal Arena will be shorter form, allowing you to complete your runs more quickly. Competitive Arena players will be able to play in the higher-stakes Underground Arena, with longer runs and a new feature: Re-Draft on Loss. Re-Draft on Loss means that, after you lose, you’ll have the option to re-draft cards, edit your deck, and keep your run alive.
Ratings will also be added to both Normal and Underground Arena. Normal, skill-based matchmaking will be used for Normal Arena. Underground Arena throws caution to the wind and lets you face off against opponents of all skill levels.
This major Arena revamp is coming in the first half of next year. Look out for more details about this update closer to when it goes live.
A Preview of the Year Ahead: The Year of the Raptor!
On top of those updates, Hearthstone has an exciting year of expansions ahead, with much-requested themes, locations, and familiar faces across Azeroth.
In the first expansion of the year, enter the Emerald Dream and join the battle between the Old Gods and the Druids of the Emerald Dream for the fate of the World Tree. Things will heat up even more when the Druids of the Flame light up the Mini-Set (releasing earlier than normal this year, during the 32.2 Patch).
The second expansion of the year will be Hearthstone’s first-ever sequel: the return to Un’Goro Crater! Join Elise on a hunt for a mythical, lost Tortollan city. When you find it, join the Tortollans in a festival to celebrate the mighty dinosaurs of the crater in the 33.4 Mini-Set.
In the third expansion of the year, travel with Chromie through alternate realities to recruit Legendary Warcraft heroes like you’ve never seen them before. Leading to the 34.4 Mini-Set: an epic showdown against Murozond at the end of time!
