Personnally I always lose my stack when there are only a few enemies left (high grift especially). In melee (just like boss fights),  I need to go away, wait for the stack to grow back and then I'm back fighting. Lot of time wasted like this and it is dangerous.

Perhaps I am being really stupid and completely missing something, but why aren't you just refreshing it with your melee attacks? Please correct me if I'm missing something.

I don't have a Laws of Seph to cube - what's the best alternate? Magefist and Mana Regen rune on BL? Cindercoat? I don't find myself OOM much, esp with Epiphany on. I'm confused as to why there isn't a better option than Blinding Flash. Can anyone explain the reason for it? I though I'd seen an item that increases damage to blinded foes, but can't find it now. Maybe it's on a weapon, so that'd be no good.

http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Romilly-1131/hero/80977662

I know my crit isn't optimized, I just found out this morning that it's crucial to stack maintenance!!! (You may want to high-light the reason right up front of the build).

Also, curse my luck, I'd made a bad enchant choice on my best weapon (thinking base dmg didn't matter for another build in here, anyway, my bad), and I haven't had a single Ramaldi's drop in 80 hours of play...

I am also having trouble keeping up stack. How exactly do you "melee attack"?

He means using Lashing Tail Kick in close range (close enough to hit enemies). On critical hits, there is a chance you will get up to 3 stacks back. I find it works fine when there are enough enemies, but once you are in close range with one or 2, you have to back away to get your stack back.

Ok, I got my Stash Tab with this build. Have hit Gr71, so NBD, but I'm seeing how far I can go ...

So one question - why the Seize The Initiative? I'm finding that at my max level I'm getting OOM too fast - even before my stacks are exhausted or Blind is up again. 30% ATS just means I go OOM faster... So would it be better to drop in the Exalted Soul? Or maybe the +20% on Blind?  or even +20 if you move 25 yds (momentum)?

Thoughts?

Hello. I really don't get it. I have my monk build exactly with the specifications on the LTK build, i just don t have unity ring. Still on GR70 i get ONE SHOTED although i have 180 million toughness. I really don t understand what i should do. Need all ancient gear on me? DPS is 1 million, ancient scarbinger and normal vengefull wind.

Please advise

This build relied on Blind for most of the damage mitigation. You also need at least paragon 700+ to attempt GR70. Other than that, I am not sure what else can be done seeing as Monk is squishy in nature and relied more on RNG dodge. Did you check that you didn't accidentally consume all the sweeaping wind stack? That's 50% damage reduction gone.

That is another problem. I managed to upgrade much more my monk and did a GR72 alone. Still, my numbers go for 1.5 million DPS and 500 million toughness in battle, and i expected to be stronger. I really can t find a solution to mantaining the stack of the sweeping wind, and have to evade often to a clear area. That is annoying actually,

Let's just admit this BUILD is embarrasing. You need at least 3 minutes on GR70+ to kill the boss because you constantly loose you stacks. No top players uses this gear. It' a total failure, no chance to go further GR80 EVER

You can incorporated fist of fury into the build. That will help you maintain stack effortless. Alternatively, you can try the LON version which give better toughness and lower damage. You can also try to increase your critical chance to at least 50% and switch to LTK physical rune with bigger AOE. It's not a pushing build. You will have an easier time pushing with Genmonk.

I like the icy veins builds by Deadset, but this one looks to have issues - - - at present.  Please correct me for any errors.

1) Vulture claw has a 10 foot radius of effect; what is the radius of effect of sw?  You have to get near an enemy but not too close.  10-x= too small a distance.  Other choices give you more distance to not risk a wind shutoff.  I like the hand of ytar.  Cold is much safer.  Vulture claw probably works better in LoN where this one major downside of Sunwuko is bypassed.

2) it appears there is zero spirit regeneration without flash and epiphany.  If both are on cooldown when there is shutoff . . .  why not have some built-in regeneration (e.g., circular breathing, exalted soul).  A passive is chosen for 30% or so IAS when that is a low priority for loading paragon points?  ;)

Some of the other responses from players look as if there may be a few too many manual adjustments to make at this point.  Maybe it's the Sunwuko's . . . I have a LoN bell monk that's a hoot, more fun so far than the kicker.

1. You have a chance to gain stack for every critical hit so if your critical chance is above 50%, you should not have issue maintaining stack in a crowd. When hiting single target like RG, you need to dash out of the melee zone once in a while for the kyo belt to regenerate stack.

2. You could use a generator like FoF, that would eliminate your stack issue in exchange for some toughness loss (the only replaceable skill in the build is your mantra).  Trust me, with zodiac and Seph, you won't run out of spirit unless you just standing there hitting air.

I'm very surprised that you have spare Spirit lying around, honestly. Are you struggling to generate Wind stacks to spam kick?

Exactly. I'm playing this build this season and this is working absolutely fine for me, especially with being able to push 10 stacks of sweeping. Simply retreat, build to 10, then you can fully deplete your Spirit, reset with Flash, spam, dash away and reset.

Already answered, but just wanted to confirm the user's observations. The most obvious problems could be Sweeping Wind stacks and Blinds. Link me your character please.

Using dash properly is incredibly important in 1v1 situations, such as on a boss. As for in packs of mobs, you really shouldn't be struggling that much with maintaining Wind, especially given Crit levels of the build.

If you are losing stacks and struggling to maintain them vs. a boss, you aren't playing the build correctly. You should be using dash to reset. It easily lines up with Blind and spirit refills. I don't think your issue is from the build, it is how you are playing it, at least from what you are saying.

Signed up for an account because of how disgusted I am with these so called 'Pro' gamers. If you really are pro, please provide accurate information. Your guide is listed as being up to date, but you are still using both sweeping wind and dashing strike. You can no longer use these two together and haven't been able to for a long time. That changes the build significantly(Including your choice of weapons entirely) and when every source lists this build when you google, it becomes infuriating.

Looks like someone needs to learn about Elective Mode for skills.  You can find this option by going to Options > Gameplay.  This allows you to equip any ability on any action slot (1, 2, 3, 4, LMB, and RMB) so long as it is not mutually exclusive with other skills (think: Monk Mantras, which are explicitly 1 active).  You most definitely can use both Sweeping Wind and Dashing Strike at the same time, and have been able to for a long time now.

This person has to be a troll. How can you be even be "disgusted" with someone when you don't even know of a basic option? Instead of questioning WHY someone was able to perform certain functions and investigating via google, you make a pretty damning accusation for someone who was just trying to provide some variety to the community. Disgusting! /s

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

Explore the depths and you’ll discover familiar enemies and iconic items, all brought to life in the Diablo III engine. Meanwhile, deep beneath the catacombs, the Dark Lord himself awaits any intrepid adventurer who dares to challenge him. . . .

      Discover Precious Loot
What is a Diablo game without shiny new loot to call your own? Completing activities in the anniversary event yields unique transmogrification effects, achievements, portraits, pets, and more.
While some rewards are easy to find, others may have you scouring every nook or unlocking every achievement before you can get your hands on them. Can you earn them all? There’s only one way to find out!

      Your Journey Begins…
Exclusive rewards and challenging enemies await you, but they won’t last forever! The cultists will appear on December 31 at 4 p.m. PST, and the portal opens January 3 at the same hour. Both parts of the event end January 31 at 4 p.m. PST.
Enter the dungeon, reap your rewards, and survive the evils within—or die in the process, never to be heard from again. . . .
