Dont bother with this build. It's about as squishy as the raiment generator build without the sustained dps of it, and you WILL run out of sweeping wind stacks and be absolutely worthless half the time. All this talk about the spirit costs of the build is useless because the true limitor is your ability to crit and recoup some of your sweeping wind stacks. I imagine it's doable if you stack your crit to like 60%+ and run the armada rune but at this point just use some inna/raiment generator build and save yourself the hassle. It's a shame because the build looks fun but in practice it doesnt work for me.

If you have the Kyoshiro's Soul belt then keeping up Sweeping Wind is thoughtless, and it gets even easier if you have the Vengeful Wind weapon.  I've played this build and the Wave of Light variation, and once you have the Belt and Weapon all you do is pop SW at the beginning of the GRift and then wait 1-2s for stacks to build up and from there on it should never drop so long as you keep hitting something.

Maybe I spam too much but I will definitely run out of stacks on tankier enemies or smaller packs on T13 since you consume a stack per hit while only regaining a stack maybe 50% of the time according to crit rate. So if you don't crit, you run out. I would guess the strategy is not to engage unless you can hit a lot of enemies at once to make sure at least a few of them crit, but it doesnt seem to work for me and I will just sometimes be forced to disengage completely waiting for the kyoshiro to give me back stacks. This is with paragon 600ish on a caracter that can clear GR 70 with an Inna generator spec.

Hello,

Why take Blinding Speed (Dashing Strike) "Dashing Strike's damage turns into cold" and take fire damage => wrists  and amulet ?

Thanks.

Because 40% dodge buff is invaluable for toughness and general survivability.  If you're going for speedfarming, then you take the radiance rune, but for pushing high GRs, having the dodge is invaluable.

yes, have same problem. Because Kyoshiro's SoulKyoshiro's Soul stack Sweeping WindSweeping Wind only if does not deal damage to any enemies, but you must go to melee range so can't get stack from this belt. I am usin LoN build, damage is lesser but you don't have this problem at all.

After reading through this thread because I was struggling with the build at the beginning - like many others here - I thought I needed to share my observations on how to get started with the build.

It certainly can be a problem to maintain the Sweeping Wind stacks - especially in low density. Try to aim for at list 50% CHC and run the Sweeping Armada rune - this is going to help you to hit more targets and regain those stacks. At first you will need to keep an eye on the stacks and try to get a feel for how quickly you will lose them in lower density. Once you have gotten used to it, however, you should not run out of stacks too often .

If you have trouble surviving in the middle of elite packs, try to cube the Crystal Fist for that 50% Damage reduction for 6 seconds after a dodge. If you maintain a 100% uptime of this buff it will help you a lot. Epiphany and Blinding Flash are used on Cooldown obviously.

Single target damage can be annoying with this build. For Rift guardians, wait for your CoE elemental proc (Fire or Physical, depending on your LTK rune), pop Epiphany and Blinding Flash and unload on the boss during that time frame, always observing the SW stacks.

Question: why isn't there an variant in this build to use the Focus and Restraint rings? It looks like the guys at the very top of the solo leaderboards (1 and 2 at least) are using them.

This is why Dash is included in the build though. You can use it to retreat, allow stacks to build and simply re-engage with the Dash defensive buff.

If you run F+R, you have to use a generator. I can't find anyone running an LTK build and using F+R. They use LoN often, but it's far harder to gear for.

Heya, it's really hard to judge that from raw numbers alone. If you can link your character from battle.net, I can give you some more solid tips.

Hello,

I couldn't find the SWK LTK thread. So I posted here.

Here is a link to my build.....http://www.diablofans.com/builds/94923-swk-ltk.

FD...this should help with spirit regen, sustain via LOH, and I believe will help stack stricken. Correct? I've also read there are "break points" to aim for when using FD. Not sure what they are.

I figured furnace would help with elites and the RG, but I also use Stricken. So is it really needed? If used, should I look to add some attack speed rolls given I use STI passive and radiance?

Not sure which to use in the cube?

Any thoughts on the need for RCR are greatly appreciated.

Thank you for any advice.

Thanks for the comment M_F. The advice is appreciated. I updated the guide on December 29, 2017. Unfortunately, the build is not using Epiphany. So I can't use Rabid Strike. I'm trying to avoid CDR to reduce gearing difficulty. However, Witching Hour is there for the  CHD. I don't have to roll off CHD on one of the rings though. I would love it if someone had the breakpoints or an attack speed calculator to reach the required breakpoints with the generators.

Scarbringer is probably the best choice, since it has the highest legendary affix variable, as opposed to Wind that has a variant of only 1.

Wondering why this build doesn't use Kyoshiro's Soul belt. It adds 2 stacks of Sweeping Wind per second, which, added to the Vengeful Wind I have in the Cube, gives me 10 stacks of Sweeping Wind, and they never run out.

A brand new season arrives in Diablo 3 next month! Blizzard have the full preview ready so let's take a look at the cosmetic rewards, season journey, Haedrig's Gift sets, and more!
      Season 33 (Source)
Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 33: Shades of the Nephalem. Starting on October 25 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Shades of the Nephalem theme, which first debuted with Season 22. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 32 will officially come to an end on October 20. Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Patch 2.7.8
      Season Theme
The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at Level 70 in under fifteen seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a Level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8
Our next patch goes live on October 22 and introduces quality-of-life updates for demon slayers on Mac. New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. Return to Top

Season 32 of Diablo 3, Ethereal Memory, will go live later today, and we have prepared a list of various useful and updated guides to help you get started!
The Season of Ethereal Memory will start later today at 5 p.m. PDT (NA Servers), 5 p.m. CEST (EU Servers), and 5 p.m. KST (Asian Servers). The theme of Season 32 was first introduced with Season 24 and is now back for another round!
      What are Ethereal Memories?
The theme of the season reintroduces the Ethereals, which are rare and powerful items known from Diablo II and reimagined for Diablo III. You will be able to hunt for all 21 iconic weapons of Diablo 2 during the season, but this time they will be harder to find and will only drop in Ancient or Primal rarity!

To help you with the start of this new season, our team has been busy updating all of our Diablo 3 guides to reflect all the changes ahead of the season launch. You can find our Season 32 Hub, as well as guides for leveling, the season mechanic, rankings, season start guides for each class, and even conquest guides, in the list below.
General Season Guides Our Season 32 guides include all the information you need to know, from Haedrig's Gift sets to SSF and season mechanic explanations:
Seasonal Leveling Guide Season 32 Compendium Ethereal Memories Solo Self-Found Mode (SSF) Leveling Guides

Barbarian Season Start Crusader Season Start DH Season Start Monk Season Start Necromancer Season Start Witch Doctor Season Start Wizard Season Start Season 32 Conquest Guides

Furthermore, the end of journey rewards (originally introduced in Season 17) are back: The Teganze Warrior portrait frame and the Bat pet!

As an interesting side note, the portrait frame you can earn this season is named after Teganze, a zone that was first introduced in Diablo 2 and will be revisited during our journey in the upcoming expansion of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred!

Season 32 in Diablo 3 starts on July 12 and here is the official preview with more details.
      (Source)
Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 32: Ethereal Memory. Starting on July 12 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Ethereal Memory theme, which first debuted with Season 24. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below.

      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Ethereals only drop in Seasonal play and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character when the season ends. Return to Top

Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 32, this means awards originally available from Season 8 are returning to the Season Journey.

Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet!

In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that smolder with demonic fires of the Burning Hells. The iconic wings of Andariel will also be available once more, allowing you to truly embrace your inner Maiden of Anguish.
      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons for the past few Seasons and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of 5:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within 5 minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 32? Here are the challenges you’ll face!
For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at Level 70 on Torment X or higher. Push your way to Greater Rift Level 75 to complete Divinity/Lionhearted. For the fiercest demon slayers, Boss Mode/Worlds Apart is a speed challenge where you’ll need to eliminate the following bosses at Level 70 and Torment X in under twenty minutes:
The Skeleton King The Butcher Zoltun Kulle Ghom Cydaea Rakanoth Diablo Adria Queen Araneae Maghda Belial Siegebreaker Assault Beast Azmodan Izual Urzael Malthael Finally, Years of War/Dynasty will be a great test for those who enjoy mastering various Class Sets, and if that’s not enough, Masters of the Universe/Masters of Sets will challenge your tactical understanding of Set Dungeons.

      Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!

Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call Crusader – Seeker of the Light Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana
