I am more or less satisfied with the results, really However, I'd like a more experienced fire mage to have a look at my combat logs. How I could improve stuff, etc. http://www.worldoflo...5rh1inaub2shfa/ My boss order was: Durumu->Primordius->Dark Animus->Iron qon->Twins->Lei Shen->Tortos->Magaera->Ji-kun->Jin'rokh->Horridon->Council.. As I could see with the more practice, I actually did more DPS than in my frost spec in an earlier log. here: http://worldoflogs.c...rlz1hcedavpsl2/ and here: http://worldoflogs.c...xz0zqimoycck82/ On Lei Shen imo I failed because I didn't aoe the balls. and on Council, due to bad tanks, the bosses were spread up all the time but even like this, I produced almost the same DPS as frost where the bosses were stacked. Really, please if you find anything to improve my fire playstyle I'd like to hear it! Another question. Mit213 20 Report post Posted June 16, 2013 I just went fire as well, once I get a few days raiding in I'll try to compare our numbers (making sure to look at iLvl). I can give you the link to our logs once I get a raid in as fire. I'm nervous for fire because getting that good combustion can take a bit of getting used to until you can nail in consistently. EgoReaper 9 Report post Posted June 16, 2013 The Pyromaniac Debuff that you put on an enemy when you use your bomb should probably be up more than 36.6% of the time. Same as with your bombs and being up a little more than 30 percent of the time. As much as I know about fire mages, and from what I can tell from your logs, that's where I see issues. Mit213 20 Report post Posted June 16, 2013 (edited) Only on kills he had a 90%+ uptime on his pyromaniac debuff, so that isn't an issue, and I am guessing the downtime was purely due to mechanics like phase transitions on Lei Shen. I wouldn't suggest the armor swap because not critting means you do 50% of the damage, which definitely isn't worth the 7.5% more ignite you would get out of mage armor. Didn't realize the guide said that if you're in almost all heroic gear that you can swap to mage armor. So I'm guessing 533ish iLvl is around when you can if it says "almost" (but I'm guessing it is like most things, and if it complicates stuff, there isn't a huge point, and also that if it is at almost fully heroic gear, that until you are pretty much full heroic geared that there isn't a huge difference to it). ^ Again, the stuff in parenthesis is pretty much all a guess. Oltier 471 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Here is a new logfile from last night on 10M Normal Dark animus, iron qon, Twins, Lei Shen. I was painting on Twins, so my DPS here is a bit screwed, but Iron Qon and Lei Shen should be a pretty representative fight. EgoReaper if you go for "all boss encounters, damage done, damage done by oltier, buffs cast" my Pyromaniac debuff had 91,4%, which means my mage bombs had the same percentage of uptime in theory. Maybe a bit lower. :) About the armor switching, I'm on almost 40% crit yet, which is kinda low, because I've been avoiding crit gear as a frost mage. Because of that, I felt that getting crits out of my Pyroblast!s during the alter time is more important that the extra ignite. Later on at about 45% crit buffed, I'll switch armors imo. :) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

What would be the difference? like a few K extra DPS? So far, I have to say I pretty much like it. I have to use my brain on what I should cast and when, not like on frost where I was just spamming Frostbolt and icelance and ffb... This RNG of fire can actually be so rewarding as much as it's worth the extra effort. I will raid this week as fire and next week I will try out arcane. I'm not sure what the dps difference is gonna be for those cleave fights (Tortos, Council). I know that some of those upper level guys are getting 300k ignites built for their combustions (huge amounts from mastery) and being able to spread that to 4 targets seems like it could be significant and maybe worth the 2 globals. I had combustion up on all 4 bosses, 1,5mill DPS at pull, tank couldn't hold agro-->death. no CR /cry. BUT, Wushoo and Breath of the hydra dropped! I currently have 2x upgraded: Lightningweaver Gauntlets and Fissure-Split Shoulderwraps I recently got Mantle of the Chromatic Hydra and Gloves of the Chromatic Hydra with which 2 items, I could get the 4 set bonus. Next week I'd be able to upgrade them twice. Do you think it'd worth equipping the 2 upgraded tier items over the HC non-tier items? I'll get the fancy legendary cloak next week as well. I have to say it is very easy to play and if you optimize your movement it is very very decent as well. http://www.worldoflo.../?s=1503&e=1708 Wooh there are surprisingly small number of arcane mages... I could easily rank on my first tries. New fancy cloaks :33 I'll hang along with arcane for now, but I have to say I feel fire the strongest atm by a lot.
