Sub Rogue - Looking to Improve on DPS

Hey guys,

Feel like I should be pushing much more dps on Xavius Heroic, given my gs of 855. Appreciate any advise you guys might have!

6:45 long fight and you cast marked for death 6 times. That's hurting your dps. Either save mark for adds, or switch talent to master of shadows.

You cast symbols of death 29 times when you only need to cast it 12ish times for the duration of this fight. waste of energy, that energy could be shadowstrikes. 

Nice uptime on nightblade! you can tab target the horror in first phase and nightblade him as well only 17% uptime on horror.

Vigor isn't an optimal choice over stratagem. if vigor performs better on the target dummy then you need to learn to manage energy better(pool energy for shadowdance).

Probably want to use your potion of old war with your second shadowblade as well. 

You also really need artifact trait akari's soul.

You should use shuriken storm in first phase when horror is near boss, especially considering you put an artifact point in second shuriken, and also in last phase to generate combo point for finisher on xavius(use deeper stratagem).

I don't know, im 2 levels beneath you but my spells hit harder, thats probably because i'm using DS. My Eviscerates hit at most for like 1.4m and my nightblade for 340k.  You should probably start trying to get used to Stratagem. Thats my advice to improve your DPS. It will feel worse than Vigor at first but you should get used to it. Also, i think that from recent hotfixes and buffs to evisc and nblade, mastery is better than vers. Just my opinion. I'm sitting at 95% Mastery and just 4% haste and i still get good Shadow Dances with not much energy starvation.

As the other commenter mentioned, it looks like you don't have a couple pretty crucial traits in your weapon.

Your Nightblade and SoD uptime is really good, as is your cooldown use etc

Thanks for the help guys..greatly appreciated. You guys have given some great advice. Most of your points have crossed my mind, but after hearing it from you guys I have really tried to improve on. Here are the logs from my most recent attempt at the same fight. I have gone up about 30 dps since I originally posted, but keep in mind my iLevel has also gone up about +5. Is my dps on par or am I still doing something terribly wrong? I know my shadowblade and SoD wasn't so great this attempt. I also realize that I really need Akari's soul.. I chose poorly on my artifact trait path but feel that it is a waste to get refunded.

Akari's Soul is effectively mandatory to be able to compete with other Sub Rogues on single target.

Do you have Weakauras for Nightblade and SoD? Your Nightblade seems fine most of the time, but your SoD has a few fights that are very low (50% on Ursoc, for example)
