Uvanimor, the Unbeautiful + Vile Gas

Hi fellow DK's

Sorry if this has been asked/answered before but I could not get a solid answer on it.

My question is regarding the legendary ring Uvanimor, the Unbeautiful . It states 10% chance on my aboms Melee dmg. is Vile Gas classed as a Melee ability?

 If it is then fair play I continue to go on my merry way.

physical damage so it appears to be, now im not sure if the wording is refering to its auto attacks but if its every melee attack vile gas should proc it
