Owthpela 0 Report post Posted June 25, 2013 For some time now, I've felt I'm really under performing as a fire mage. I'm using the rotation for the IV's fire mage class guide. My armory: http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/lothar/Owthpela/simple Most Recent WoL: http://www.worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-c34kuizue7pf8l6j/ I'm really not sure what I'm doing wrong. Everything I hear/read just seems to be the same stuff from the fire mage class guide that heard/read many times. Any advice anyone can give me would be much appreciated. Oltier 471 Report post Posted June 25, 2013 Hey Owthpela, I have had a comparison on you, and Scorcher from your guild. Of course, his gear level is much higher and his RNG is "better". And that is exactly the reason as I can see, Your Fireball cast numbers are almost the same, however he has had much much more Pyroblast!s on Twin consorts. This is due to the fact, that he has 3% more crit than you, and is also in 4 set bonus, thus making the "Heating up! trick" very good. Due to these facts, your combustions have had awfully low ignite ticks compared to your gear. On Avg, you had 28601.4 Combustion ticks, Scorcher had 40873.4 on average, and the critical ticks were 59160.2 compared to 94360.2. I think, now you can see what the problem is by yourself. Basically... You need more crit and get the 4 set bonus as soon as you can and you have to make sure, that you use combustion after at least one Pyroblast! crit but 2 would be more optimal... Using an ignite threshold tracker addon like MyBigIgnite, combustion helper would be also a good idea, with the Threshold set to about 40k. I hope I could help you in any ways.
