T16 Warlock Style - Heroic & Mythic

Recommended Posts

I've been using Unbound Will for the past couple of weeks in 10-man and it hasn't gotten me killed. Indeed, it usually means I'm the first person to get broken out of MC. Perfectly safe to use.

Since Garrosh is basically dead (26% wipe due to Iron Star misshandling...) and with another weeks worth of gear it will eliminate the two hard whirling/mc phases completely because we'll push to the next phase quicker...may even skip the whirling altogether.

Gratz on the progress. Personally I'm really looking forward to progressing on this fight.

I do have one question -

Transition (Five groups of three adds):

...

Second Transition (long run up the steps with tons of little adds):

...

Are the transitions always in order like that?

Also maybe it's a 10m thing, but a few early 10m kills ignored the desecrated weapons and stacked them up in a corner - I assume this was more a way of avoiding the harsh dps check I guess.

We're still trying to get Heroic Malkorok on farm at the moment. And it frustrates me to no end that we have 25 FREAKIN' PEOPLE TO SOAK AND WE MISS THEM. Now, I find it useful to keep RoF up on heroic to generate some embers. I also keep my GoSac because I often find my pet dead about half way through the fight. Maybe I should put in a couple more attempts than like three with Supremacy. With that being said, I keep Sac Pac for 'oh shit' situations...like, "I have a red shield, but this needs to be soaked." KJC is so nice in this fight, especially when you have wonderful RNG and you're getting knocked up in the air every freakin' time (more or less in the middle of awesome trinket procs and CBs)... Can proudly say I've never missed a FREAKIN' PURPLE SWIRL though. Keep in my mind these are just my personal preferences.
Needless to say, we're on Spoils now. And I've been starting on the mantid side. Not happy. There's only one major change in this fight though from a dps perspective and that's the sparks, which need to be killed immediately. The go down fairly quickly but it's easy enough to Havoc + SB. Not much difference from normal, but I haven't seen much of the Mogu side yet.
Progress, slowly but surely.

Starting on Malk tonight for our first repeat kill .  Hoping we get him down fast again so we can get back to Spoils.

I really hate spoils heroic.  It causes a lot of personal stress when your side is struggling with things not in your control :(  At the end of last week we had one side clearing normally in time, the other failing.. swapped up tanks the last few pulls and now both sides are within a few seconds.  So some clean up we should be about there.  Then have to get good at second side.  Luckily the first week we put out initial attempts on the opposite sides, so it wont be unfamiliar completely.

I am really looking forward to Thok.  Gl on spoils

speaking of fights where we wipe because of things out of my control, what's up siegecrafter? i'll just keep tunneling like a boss on the main platform, and eventually our belt groups will figure out how to not die.

If you feel the people going to the assembly line are not performing well, you should go destro and get on the conveyor belt.

No, Warlocks are awful for the belt.  You keep doing attempts until the belt people nail it.

Maybe I'm the only one who doesn't mind gimping my dps if that means downing the boss.

Using a Warlock on the belt gimps the entire raid's DPS and extends the fight unnecessarily.  With the change to teleport, Warlocks are least useful up there and contribute much more on the main platform.  If you're having to use the belt, you need better teammates.

Sub 20%...not sure why it's not dead yet. Just dumb (and simple) mistakes. Sacrificial Dagger the Malice and you don't have to worry about it, haha...

Yes they are always in that order.

Your keyword there is "Early" They did not have the gear to just stack and kill everything with "passive" AoE. We killed them to keep the room clean, and we had more than enough dps to compensate. Every week of gear makes this more viable.

If you're going to get strats from videos, make sure to use recent incarnations of them (<2 weeks old) to compare more accurately to the massive amount of loot you've acquired since the first kills that happened in week two with little heroic gear.

sending warlocks to the belt is an awful idea. i wouldn't mind doing it, but without our warlocks on the main platform, i feel like crawler mines would destroy us. the way we do that fight is essentially built for destro AOE.

Edit: Apparently it's built for our ele Shaman and to a lesser extent our spriests as well, but still.

Yes they are always in that order.

Unless they've changed something recently, I don't think this is true. Transition phases always seemed randomized (with no repeats, of course). Even the Icy-Veins guide states that the transition phase is randomly selected.

On normal they are random.

On heroic they are fixed.

Trust me...200 attempts of Heroic Garrosh...I think I would've noticed if they are random.

If a group hasn't killed Blackfuse yet, there are some guys in the raid underperforming, and not everyone raid in nice guilds like some of us, in which you can (most times) trust all your team mates to do their shit.

Anyway, I'm assuming juribe was talking about NM.

Demonic Circles were broken so that Locks can't bypass the pipe mechanic by simply teleporting up to the belt.

Spoils down! Thok master of silence here we go >.< So is demo actually  viable in dps compared to being affli here? looking at rankings demo is like 100k down compared to affli, is it that bad? i would imagine instant ToC would be pretty nice there, then again i guess we have alot less fury to do that now with no imp army

Rankings are super RNG. Even destro is viable, as Zagam has discovered. Do the one you're most confident with. I must say, though, that affliction with Fel Imp makes healers happy for dispels.

Yea that's what im doing atm, rolling affli with imp (which is  just awesome for dispells) but i am more confident with destro usually, but it would take some getting use to with silence spam and damn i havent touched demo since the UVSL nerf (R.I.P. ;_;) Glyph of UE will probably be nice by the time we stay alive so far (wtf random aggro on healers after fixate phase)

Rankings are really rng, but I'd say go for anything you're most comfortable with for thok. Destro is pretty neat if you can pull it off, but I've found affli learning curve to be easier (wasn't in for the progress wipes) than destro.

Tanks need to be there after fixate, it resets aggro so they need to be there and taunt Thok asap. It's not random, your tanks just aren't doing they're job wink.png

Haven't had the chance to post in awhile but just wanted to bring up that the spawn chart I made up for Heroic Nazgrim isn't always the same, but the adds for each wave are what was listed. Also came on this interesting tidbit, when Mokvar the Terrible uses his bribe ability on someone, store up some embers and throw havoc on the person before they reach 50%. When Mokvar gets low, spam Shadowburn and proceed to laugh with the rest of the raid.

Also, levitate on Siegecrafter's assembly line makes that job so much easier, wish we had a pet that could grant us levitate.

Yep, was doing this to my old guild's hunter on Garrosh whilst I was still with them.

Killed him with a 700k shadowburn haha.
