T16 Warlock Style - Heroic & Mythic

Recommended Posts

As for Malkorok, just sacrifice a pet and use Shadow Bulwark for the HUGE HP pool.  Your tanks should not need your defensive cooldown to help them live and taking that huge DoT going into the next Phase 1 might force healers to focus on you at the expense of your raid.  The healers have to keep people topped off as best they can before that phase.  If you're unlucky with taking a huge DoT with Dark Bargain and then you get immediately thrown into the air, you'll be in trouble.  For this fight, use GoSacrifice and Soul Link...the huge HP pool is actually quite beneficial here because your maximum shield is equal to your maximum HP...more life = more survivability.  You should be the last one to die every time.

The Shadow Bulwark also acts like a heal when the effect wears off.

I'm pretty sure if we could find the geared people, my raid leader would take 10 locks to every raid. We're at 3 right now with 1 more as a trial and a 2-person package deal inquiring about joining last night. Love it.

I'm looking for a good anyone (any class) that doesn't stand in goo, and smashes buttons hard. Thu/Sun 8pm-11pm PST.

Now for an actual lock question. For Thok should you use Sac or Supremacy? I have the KTT. I'm thinking using Supremacy, due to the times where i can't cast.

You should only have fractions when you can't cast, and it's such a small portion of the fight.  When he is fixating is when you're doing the most damage.  The Imp will be moving a lot to keep up.  Just stay Sac and keep moving and casting.

sad news about your guild woes. personally i'm quite excited about 20 man mythic, but that's probably i'm in a 25man guild and i love class-specific boss mechanics.

finally pulled 400k on heroic malkorok and i think i have the lowest ilvl in that ranking range. had over 30 shadowburns with havoc used on cooldown. doing the "zerg" box opening strat on heroic spoils has trained my shadowburn trigger finger so well.

AND SKULL BANNERS ON THE PULL!  AND STORMLASH TOTEMS!  MOAR TRICKS!  I have to pay off every Rogue I play with the first night.  After that, they feed me Tricks.

Our rogue has completely stopped tricksing me ever since he found out our mage gets it twice with his alter time (which he can only get once every 5 tricks!)

I am not friends with our rogue any more.

No one has been assigned to weapon, I just do it to make sure it is dead, weapon not our problem - we can get to end of P2.

Problems we having is those adds, I mention to him to remove his fury, should he still take it off if he the one on the boss (I don't recall which one on boss at that time), and anything the monk can do not to get agro?

MC we got down

Weapon we are good despite no one really being assign, me and shadow priest seems to destroy it, her dots + my 2x CB = dead weapon usually.

We have enough time for two heroes, so I use Doomguard - tried Inferno but he lacked in damage. We have one iron star come out, and if our druid is with us that night, she knocks them back into it. I just wonder if I should keep, immolate on all by using FnB or just put it on Garrosh

Also regarding AE damage, Between Monk Tank, Pally Tank, Frost DK they usually dead by the time the star hits them, or dies to the star. So no, I am not needed for AE, just wondering if I was supposed to be using FnB + Immolate/Conflag/Incinerate in P1 or single target Garrosh

Side note good luck in the new guild, in an interview they said they did not even talk to guilds like Method, Midwinter before they made the change, like how the hell you cannot run it by the top guilds in the world before making a decision that going to hurt them.

Funny they didn't have a problem asking Method and Midwinter to do a showdown at Blizzcon for everyone, at least they go do, it bring the idea up to them, and let them decide - new 20 man raid going to hurt those guilds bad, and now they force to drop (give pink slips lol) to 5 people, just not right.

Because they're the developers and the guilds play the game.   Whether you like it or not, the change is for the better.  It's not up to any guild to make that decision for Blizzard.

Even if it gonna be harsh for my core to get 10new members in Brazil, I really agree with you, I think the changes gonna be for good, the first raid tier will be kinda of a mess for many servers trying to join-up new members and stuff, but after that, I really believe 20man will be a greater solution for Ultimate content.

If I could do it, I would take 5 warlocks in my 10-man group, leaving our Guardian druid to provide stats and crit, and the two healers and last DPS to provide mastery/spell haste (ele shaman?).

Edit: Zag, which guild are you running with tonight?

Guild progressing on Spoils.  I joined them mostly because they were only saved to 5 bosses, so I could get a week of raiding in.  It's a ten man with two Destruction Warlocks.  Sounds good, but I found my gameplay severely modified by not having targets to Shadowburn that I was used to having.  Group has no Shamans and Warriors, either, so things are limited.  Not sure I'm staying 10 man...might as well get used to heavier logistics.

Got Hm spoils down last night. About 50% on < 10 pulls for Thok. Healers have some serious learning to do on that for us to progress quicker.

Don't forget. We still need more warlocks.

Tues - Thurs 1030pm - 200am EST 25 man.

Hi guys,

Not sure if this is any use or not but I found today on our Norushen hc kill in the realm thing that if you go in (running Grim:Sup) and not attack the big add at all he'll just stand there and do Tear of Reality on your pet leaving you free to go around and kill him when you want without having to kite. Just my 2 cents love this thread :)

Hm... you really shouldn't have to do that. My opening (or whatever you want to call it) on 25H norushen with GoSup is:

- pre-pot and SB:SS the boss

- click orb to go into spirit realm

- SB:SS the big add

- soulswap from big add onto 3 small adds

- meanwhile, run behind the last small add so you can souldrain it

- use darksoul when you exit the spirit realm and commence killing everything

pro-tip: you can APPLY soulswap dots onto small adds even if their shield is facing you. however, you can not PULL soulswap dots from the shielded small adds. so always soulswap from big add to small add. using this opener i can finish spirit realm in ~8-10 seconds. in fact sometimes the big add dies so fast i'm worried about soulswapping onto the 3rd small add.

some people disagree about saving darksoul for after the spirit realm since it doesn't line up with the opener procs, but having darksoul during spirit realm is so pointless since you only save like 1 second of time. it's more useful to the raid to have darksoul during the chaos of everyone coming out of the first spirit realm. anyways it works well for me, as i have a top 10 parse on that fight and i don't even log myself for the phased dps

Keep in mind that, depending on which raid size you do, freely dotting all of the adds might screw over your tanks and wipe the raid. It's probably not going to be an issue for most (since it seems like most people are in 10-mans), but we have a strict order in my 25-man of who is allowed to kill the big add first and who has to kill it last. It gets really annoying when I have to try to pick up 3-4 manifestations at once.

This used to be a concern but our 25 has had him on farm for a while so we send 6 people into test realm off the bat with no kill order and just go ham killing things before they even have a chance to walk to the raid

Hey,

I haven't read all the prev posts, so sorry if it had been answered.

I'm just curious how u usually kill iron juggernaut HC. We do it by sitting out p2, but i saw a lot of logs, where they keep dmging it. How can it be done with 2-3healers? By our method we always cheer if we survive all the p2, even though we take dmg from only 2-3abilities.

Also i usually don't have problems with my dps, but wanna be better :),(i used to have KJC everywhere) so i'm trying to use Archimonde's Darkness on fights where i mostly stand in one place (like fallen, norushen, malkorok). Should i use the 2nd charge when immersus trinket proc or hydra+tempus (they usually manages to procc about the same time).

What do you mean sitting out p2 on iron juggernaut? Just dodge shit and keep hitting the boss. Nobody should take damage from mortar barrage, and if your raid has a cooldown rotation for shock pulse, it should be really easy.
