Gearing up in general

Hey im just starting a shaman and soon 110 when getting new gear should i first try to get lets say 850 + ilvl overall and then look out for mastery/haste as main stat ? ( since alot of people look for GS when inviting for dungeons?) or rather go for the "perfect" stats and lose out on some ilvls?

Speaking in general, it highly depends who with your are doing the content. On the start of the expansion we were jumping into HC dungeons in whatever green/blue gear we had hitting 110, cleared Mythic dungeons on 810 and first HC EN on 847 ilvl.

So it's not ilvl that matters but people - if you are doing the content with friends or start your own groups, any gear is fine while it's not full green or below 810 ilvl. If you are aiming for PuGs, prepare yourself for demands like +10 ilvls to the instance drop (meaning if instance drops 850 gear, groups may demand 860 ilvl from you).

Regarding ilvl vs secondaries, it has to be balanced. In Legion all stats are pretty close in their weight, so many times you's have to prefer your best secondaries over ilvl, especially for the neck and rings that don't have Intellect at all.

In my opinion, if you're not running with friends to help you gear up, you should go for ilvl over stats (until about 830/840?) as long as they're somewhat relevant stats like instead of haste/mastery if it's like 10 ilvl higher but haste/crit, go for it. When you're plateauing at around 845-850 try to focus mainly on getting your main stats but you can still mix gear like Mastery/Vers, Mastery/Crit if you find it difficult to find Mastery/Haste gear.
