Bleed vs. Poison focused?

Hello,

 

I see people using both builds in raids and I am confused.

 

I understand that Exsanguinate is better for mythics and short fights where you won't get Agonizing poison stacked up. But I literally see people going for that build in entire raids as well.

 

So, is there some point where Exsanguinate just flat out becomes better at a certain threshold or the other way around? - I'm trying to figure out in what direction to take my rogue, and since each build have their own stats (Vers. vs. Mastery) it's hard to find somewhat decent gear for both playstyles, so I really have to choose.

 

Basically, what I'm looking for answers to:

 

When to choose Exsanguinate over AP and the other way around.

I'm going AP on Nythrenda, Ursoc and Elerethe

Exsang von Il'gnyoth, Dragons, Cenarius and Xavius.

Could probably go AP on Xavius too, but I like the double burst after exiting the nightmare.

So it's basically;

 

Close to Patchwerk fights = AP.

 

Target switch and a little more burst = Exsang.

 

Just as I thought, how do you manage the whole thing about Vers being your best stat as Exsang and Matery/Crit as AP. Do you have two sets of gear?

I've been simming back and forth, but just to be sure:

 

You pick Vers/Crit for Exsang.

 

You pick Mastery/Crit for AP.

Because judging from my own experience, I think that's the point where the AP build starts to feel fluent, due to CP generation from Seal Fate. I've myself started a thread a while ago, wondering why my energy household is so down the drain when I switched to AP for the first time. A lot of missing crit was the answer.

Which directly corrlates with EP uptime, so yes on that one.

I'm not saying you shouldn't stack mastery at all until that, you'll still need it to make the AP build do damage. but lacking crit will result in poor performance.
