Vashir 0 Report post Posted July 10, 2013 Hello all, I am new to this forum and have a few questions about PvP gearing How should I go about getting honor/conquest to get geared? I've been trying to do arenas and Rated BGs, but I'm always losing, because, of course, I have awful gear. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Dia 7 Report post Posted July 10, 2013 Ok. First go get full honor PvP set. If you have it already, then try to get more practice. Perhaps you are donig something wrong. Or maybe PvP is not for you.
Marco 51 Report post Posted July 11, 2013 Competing without honor gear is incredibly hard and towards the end of a season (which we are at right now), even honor gear has a huge disadvantage compared to conquest gear. You will most likely have the conquest catch up cap (Read Ketchup Cap ;)), which will allow you to get a ridiculous amount of conquest points. Try to get this cap (yes, it will take some time) by playing arenas; if you are always losing, try to play down your match making rating (it is shown when you lose or win a fight) to about 1000 to 1200, depending on your realmpool. This will happen either way when you lose much, but don't give up. You will eventually be matched against players on the same skill/gear level. And you will eventually get more and better gear through that. You could also try to play with a healer in 2v2, these comps are usually easier to play as you have more freedom and can make more mistakes, but the fights can take up to 45 minutes if you have a healer/damage vs. healer/damage fight! In terms of gear, try to get the conquest weapon as soon as possible. It provides a huge Spell Power and PvP Power boost. You also need a PvP trinket of course (the one that breaks all crowd control effects), and the rest of the gear can be acquired in any order, although you should get the set's bonus and glove's bonus first. In terms of your actual gameplay abilities, you could try to watch good players like Hydra and extract some useful tactics from their gameplay; You could also look up other disc priests on the ladder to see how you can gear and spec effectively, although you've probably done this already. We also have a disc priest contributor here at IV, so feel free to ask any questions and I will throw him into this thread. ;)
