NachtJaeger 0 Report post Posted November 15, 2016 I used to play Heroes quite a bit, but that was back close to release (I played in Closed, Open Beta, and then a little into release). About the only hero I was pretty okay with was Li Li (I think HotsLogs had me at 58% with her - I think my HotsLogs profile is still active under the same name - NachtJaeger). I mostly played QM (like 99% lol) and would probably do so again if I got back into the game. I'm way out of the loop with everything, though, as you can imagine. HotS is my first ever MOBA as well. Other than Li Li, who I'd definitely want to re-learn, what would be some somewhat "easy" heroes to practice with and learn the maps with (in AI play of course)? I used to play Sylvanas and Zagara the next most often. I enjoyed playing both.
SHIMOxxKUMA 2 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 I am in way shape or form a expert at the game but i would generally think the best beginner friendly heroes would be Raynor, Muradin, Li Li, Diablo, and Valla. Zagara and Sylvanas are pretty good and i don't have any specialist on that list so they would be good pick ups. Biggest thing i can say is get some buddies, practice a bit in a AI match if you want then just go into quick match, if your learning a new hero or even a old one i recommenced the guides on the sight a lot. Take advantage of the nexus challenge event going on right now for free heroes, stimpack and mount. Don't worry about any kind of tier list/ meta picks at the moment just focus on characters you have fun with or ones you might enjoy! If you have any questions feel free to ask, like i said i'm only max level, i don't play ranked at all and hots isn't even my main MOBA but I like helping when I can!
CanidSerpent 2 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 Shimo's list is a very good one! But I would also add ETC (and maybe Chen too?) as some easy warriors to learn, and maybe Malfurion as another support. There's not much else I can say that Shimo hasn't already said, but just take things slow and enjoy the game. Once you feel more comfortable than you can practice with the more challenging or niche heroes. :)
Voltorocks 40 Report post Posted November 17, 2016 one nice thing about this game is that I feel blizz bust their balls trying to make every hero at *least* playable, so you can QM pretty much whatever you like. That said, to smooth your transition back to human opponents.... from your list, zagara stands out as a strong hero with a straightforward playstyle (push them to death, and use your ult for teamfghts). Lili is the definitive healer for beginners imho, though Malfurion is also easy to pick up and pretty powerful. ETC and Johanna are the easiest warriors imo (and two of the best) with Muradin close behind (he's better if you are awesome at skillshots) assassins are kind of all over the board - there are a lot to choose from - personally I think Lunara and Thrall are two very forgiving choices due to their high mobility/self-sustain (respectively) and the limited importance of skillshots in their kits.
NachtJaeger 0 Report post Posted November 18, 2016 Sweet - thanks for the great replies. Zagara and Li Li - check, will start practicing with them. Lunara, Thrall, and Johanna I'll pick up. I have 28K gold so I think I can afford them. I should have Malfurion (I think the two HL games I played back then were as Malfurion as people took Li Li often). I've never played Lunara or Thrall (I remember hating being AGAINST Thrall back then, though!) so that will be a new experience. Thanks again for the help everyone. :) I've also been watching some streamers on Twitch to see the new maps and heroes more and try to get my "eye" back for the game and listen to the streamers explain why plays were good/bad, their thoughts on the heroes, etc.

Honestly. He's excellent at explaining things, he is a strong player and is always open to newcomers. You can check him out at twitch.tv/KendricSwissh.
NachtJaeger 0 Report post Posted November 21, 2016 Would Chromie be difficult to learn for a guy like me? I ask because I've watched some streams were Chromie was just destroying people, hitting for four-digit damage and being very annoying. Is she really difficult and I should save her for later? Li-Ming can point, shoot and then as soon as danger appears, move away. Chromie can get caught out of position and be punished brutally for it. She has the potential to be extremely powerful, assuming you are ready to learn and break through that skill floor. Don't forget her need to hit skillshots!
