Trying to understand Potion of Old War

I'm struggling to understand how to get more millage out of my Potion of Old War usage.

Example:

In this example, Pork get's 1.7 Million more damage out of his Potion than I do.  I see that his potion generated 17 hits to my potion's 10.

So, how do I get Potion of Old War to hit more?  Is it RNG and I'm just getting unlucky?  Or is there something else here that I'm missing.

Any guidance or insight here would be greatly appreciated.

I guess you're also fury.

Maybe he has more haste? That means more attack speed = more chances to trigger the potion.

If not, you're just unlucky ;-)
