I would recommend re rolling one of your unwavering glare's stats to get 4 arcane power regen per crit helps you use arcane torrent without running out of arcane power. Hope this helps!

It's a pretty low prio stat, but it can help, yeah. It's such a low priority because you can often find it a waste of a stat given kiting times at high GR.

So i tried this build for a while and i gotta damage wise it's the most powerful i've ever played... for 8 seconds... after your TR buffs drop, you can't kill shit with this build and you have to wait for your archon wear off.

going back to FB archon

Yep, which is why the build focuses exactly on maximising that. You simply kite, stack and then destroy. It's a horrible playstyle to get used to, but when it works, you'll hit those 90+ rifts.

Assuming you have perfect gear, you will have 64% CHC and 430% CHD with Obsdian. With RROG you will have 58% CHC and 480% CHD. Is that little CDR really worth giving up 50% CHD?

In honesty? It depends. There are times when that little CDR will mean absolutely nothing. There are times when it could be the difference between having another full use of Archon. It's tough to judge because it is based on the clear times, something that is basically impossible to know without previous and persistent personal testing.

Quick question: Why isn't the Archon lightning rune used so that Archon abilities proc Mandal Heal?

The burst from the initial explosion is more important, basically.

Pretty much.

Check your Elemental damage %. You need to get Lightning damage to the top above all. Check in your details.
It doesnt matter if you chose Combustion Rune, only the explosion counts as Fire Damage, the Archon Elemental Damage its define by your max Elemental Percent

What do you think of wyrdward or a stone of jordan? I see a lot of energy twisters in the top leaderboards too.

Hey, Thanks for another awesome guide!!!

Just wondering if you have a suggested amount of CDR to aim for? I am at about 62.5% CDR from memory and use OBROTZ rather than HoA variation - though still finding it takes a bit too long to get back to Archon form without using Gogok. Of course I'd rather the three recommended gems for the OROTZ variation but find Gogok is so helpful (have five or less seconds downtime from Archon using it when I spam spells too).

Perhaps it is me needing to get used to being so squishy in down-time (albeit for the damage this build puts out its worth it!!!). :)

Is there a 'sweet spot' once you reach a certain CDR or not really as such? I want to get rid of Gogok for more DPS but find it just a bit too long of a cooldown - I die and lose the stacks, it is like starting the GR again without the stacks (as you carry them over).

the cube section still mentions royal grandeur, which is pretty useless in a 6 and 2 set?

For this guide, the write up says Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer is preferred, but on the BiS table, Ancient Parthenon Defenders is still listed, even though its not mentioned otherwise in the gear write up

Because you're not going for a 6 and 2 set. You're going for the 6 piece bonus of TR and the 4 piece set of Vyr, which is where the RRoG comes in, so now you need 5 pieces of TR and 3 pieces of Vyr.

On another note, is it worth it to stack the "+% damage based on range from target" stats? Since you want to use the archon explosion already, wouldn't that put you in the middle of enemies and it would be more beneficial to spam your 2 close range AOE spells? Do you really gain that much damage from just using the ray?

what I did that works well for solo pushing is switching the cube for Etched Sigil while wearing the Starfire.  Then I have teleport calamity and wave of force  impactful wave and then using Ray of Frost Cold Blood > this allows you to stay grounded while beaming to get back into Archorn. It works because it pushes the mobs away from you that are close and also repeals the items back at the creatures. It's amazing to try it out! Send me a tell in game > AxelCross#1325

Hey everyone! I have a few questions. First off I just want to say that I love this site. I usually prefer it to other build helping sites.

Maybe it's just the perfectionist in me but there a few things that leave me scratching my head. A few have already been mentioned here but for instance, why does the build guide list Ancient Parthan Defenders as BIS for the bracers when literally every other place in the guide says Ashnagarr's Blood Bracer is BIS. Ancient Parthan Defenders are not mentioned anywhere else. Even throughout the entire video he never mentions the defenders. I can look at the way it all works together and see that those could be a good choice but I guess as a matter of consistency it would be nice for the guide to explain why they are BIS over his original choice of Ashnagarr's.

And a question about the weapon, in his video Deadset says Starfire is the obvious cube choice since it has a varying percentage. That makes sense but in the guide it has Starfire listed as BIS for the weapon.

And my last question is on the Ring of the zodiac. I can't for the life of me figure out why it's always recommended on the ring slot while suggesting the RORG should be cubed. I was scratching my head about that on the lashing tail kick monk guide on this site as well. Someone mentioned in an earlier comment that it would actually be more beneficial to cube the zodiac which I kind of figured just without the math lol. I'm just curious as to why the list it like that. I mean it even lists the preferred ring stats in order of Socket, CDR, CHD, CHC and assuming you'll always roll a socket on zodiac, you'd never be able to get CHD.

I'm not trying to be nit picky here really, I would just like to know their thought process on some of the suggestions so if there's a good reason we all understand :)

Heya and thanks for pointing out the missed updates on the BiS table! It's actually from an older version of the guide, I will update it asap. The written portion of the guide is on point though. In the meantime: 1) you are correct in using Ashnagarr's; 2) Your current BiS weapon would be a Serpent Sparker (due to non-varying unique power), with a possible alternative in Starfire on a good roll; 3) The reason to recommend ORotZ over RoRG as a ring is because ORotZ allows you a combo of ChC, CDR, IAS and a socket (all greatly beneficial to Archon Manald builds). RoRG only allows you Mainstat/IAS/Crit Stat of choice/Socket, and in optimized endgame builds the value of Mainstat drops significantly (with respect to high Paragons and enchantments on gear). That's not to say a good RoRG can't occupy your ring slot for a long time (it certainly does on my Wiz).

Regarding rolls on the torso, you recommend 'Reduced damage from Elites' over armor.  I currently have a well-rolled ancient with an 80 augment, but it has armor instead of the damage reduction.  I read on blizz and reddit forums that elite damage reduction doesn't work at all...have you done any testing?  I'm concerned about rolling off armor for something that may not work.

Isn't http://www.diablofans.com/builds/88706-2-5-s10-lightning-speed-archon-wizard this build better? you get 2nd bonus from vryks set and get faster archont. Hydras are good only for elites and not for all mobs

Depends what you're trying to do.

You get the same amount of set bonuses in all variations of this build (6 Tal/4 Vyr), just be careful when choosing the pieces so with RoRG you get both.

As for the variations on the spec, it really depends what content you are running. With the addition of the Armory this season, it's so easy to optimize your build and swap in 2 seconds to whatever you are doing.

From my personal experience this season, I can give a few tips:

- For Speed Farming I definitely prefer both In-Geom and Ring of the Zodiac. For the spender I tried both the Arcane Torrent and Ray of Frost, and Ray of Frost is a lot easier to use, you don't run out of AP and gets the CD of Archon down in seconds.

- You only need the Hydras when doing higher GRs. The actual number depends on the overall strength of the group, but I would say 85+ is where you start using it, especially if you are the Rift Guardian killer. Even then, you basically only use the Hydras for the RG, as on trash the interaction between Hydra MH procs and your own make it an actual DPS loss.

Overall the guide on IV covers pretty much everything for group play, if you want to push solo GRs then there are some additional changes (such as using an Aether Walker for example).

For myself I am glad I picked Wizard this season, you can do basically everything (T13, GR speed farming, GR pushing, etc.), it's one of the top DPS for groups and all is possible with minimal swaps on a few pieces of gear.

On torso I am personaly using +% life bonus - more life = bigger shield from magic weapon (deflection rune). Don't know if the elite damage reduction work :/

with 4 pcs of vyr set you have all archon runes... So you use combustion rune to get fire stack (tal rasha) and you need some lightning damage bonus on your equip so archon damage will be lightning (you deal dmg based on your highest elemental damage bonus)

I think that keeping in long range let you survive. If you stay in the middle of enemy pack it will be very hard to survive. Maybe with many archon stacks which provides you armor and resistances. And when usin archon beam many damage numbers pop ups, so theoretically you have better chance to paralyse proc? (not testet just theory)

PS: sry for my english :)

      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Patch 2.7.8
      Season Theme
The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at Level 70 in under fifteen seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a Level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8
Our next patch goes live on October 22 and introduces quality-of-life updates for demon slayers on Mac. New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. The Season of Ethereal Memory will start later today at 5 p.m. PDT (NA Servers), 5 p.m. CEST (EU Servers), and 5 p.m. KST (Asian Servers). The theme of Season 32 was first introduced with Season 24 and is now back for another round!

Season 32 in Diablo 3 starts on July 12 and here is the official preview with more details.
      (Source)
Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 32: Ethereal Memory. Starting on July 12 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Ethereal Memory theme, which first debuted with Season 24. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below.

      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to players who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 32, this means awards originally available from Season 8 are returning to the Season Journey.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet!

In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that smolder with demonic fires of the Burning Hells. The iconic wings of Andariel will also be available once more, allowing you to truly embrace your inner Maiden of Anguish.

      Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call Crusader – Seeker of the Light Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana
