MM sims with 7.1.5

After getting home from work I immediately went to work on rotation and build changes with new patch. I tried several different combos including arcane shot V sidewinders and I am still simcrafting and dummying with sidewinders coming out as my top DPS (by a large margin).

Obviously each fight is situational and I may want to change out talents for different fights but with all of the talk about arcane I am very surprised. I looked up the rotation and believe I am using it correctly: arcane to build focus>marked at no less than 120>one more arcane>aimedaimedaimed

I am at 14% haste; I do not have all of the sexy trinkets or the legendary boots. Any thoughts?

You need 17% haste for that build to work properly, work on getting that last 3% asap. That's the difference between another aimed shot or missing out. Will greatly improve your dps once you reach that breakpoint. 

The reason sidewinders is significantly worse now is because the focus generation has been significantly nerfed and this method is much easier for building/spending focus in the shortest amount of time possible. If you still attempt to run the previous build it doesn't work and you have significantly less time spent on aimed shot.

Pretty sure azor has updated his guide and there is no longer a need for 17% haste as MM was changed going from PTR to live very late. I could be wrong but 99% sure.

 

Just checked and it says atm that  there are no soft or hardcaps for MM hunters

Ah yep, you're right. Seems crit is now the better stat after mastery. I made my comment before that change was made. Now I'm a little annoyed because I let a guildie have 890 haste/mastery gloves instead of taking them myself because he was at 15% haste... oh well!
