Hey guys, Been raiding a few years now and swapped to Rogue recently. 

I need some real help on Assassination. I didn't realize i was this bad until i checked this weeks logs.

From what I can see at first glance, here are some of your issues

1. Dot uptimes. alway keep Rupture and Garrote on your target. If there are multiple, dot like 3 or 4 and hope for Poison Bomb procs. Some fights, you're on a decent 90+% uptime. I usually manage to float around 97% on both Rupture and Garrote

2. CP wasting. Some fights, you're doing well, on other you waste a lot of CPs. Envenom with 3+ and keep track of Surge of Toxins

3. Maybe I'm wrong on this, or you know something that I do not know, but I can't see why you would ever swap posions mid fight with the AP build.

That said, i feel like half of the bosses in this raid are quite disadvantageous for sins anyways, especially bosses like Skorpyon or Tichondrious with constant adds or target switches.  If your raid really needs the cleave, you should consider playing Outlaw. For me, I can usually rely on our bomb dps to do the job while I tend to focus important adds or nuke the boss. Although I also have gear for the Exsang build and Outlaw in my bags.

I swapped mid fight since there were adds and i wanted to see if it was better for me to be Deadly rather then Agonizing. I also feel at a massive disadvantage in these fights but i'm still at a really low % compared to other rogues. I'll keep in mind the 3+ Envenoms. Any more help would be great.

This is the sort of thing that makes me really, REALLY wish they would come up with a way to keep relics when you switch them around.

Not sure what your gear is like; certain legendaries and trinkets are more beneficial than others, as are your 2 and 4 set bonuses. A large majority of people going into Nighthold have all of these things, and until you do, your parses will look lower than they otherwise would be.

Additionally, in Normal mode, people will try and cheese damage as much as they can. They'll exploit mechanics and do unnecessary damage to unimportant targets so they parse higher.

In short, none of that matters. What matters is you playing your own character well for your own raid. I absolutely hate the rankings thing for that reason; players look at it like school grades, and when they see themselves at 39th percentile on Trilliax overall they think they're terrible. In reality, the vast majority of Rogues who are entering Nighthold have very high item levels. People in 860 aren't (usually) in there. Your performance for your ilevel is actually pretty good - look at what happens when you change the rankings to look at Sin Rogues from 878-880

Percentiles lie -- a player could be doing 99.97% of the damage that they are capable of doing, but if everybody else has the same gear and is doing 99.99% of damage they're capable of doing, that player will be down in the absolute lowest percentile. They don't show your personal performance, they ONLY show your damage relative to other players

Now, for places you should improve:

• You should really try and keep your Envenom buff on 100% of the time that Kingsbane is ticking for
• Ideally, you should be using Envenom at 4-5CPs.
  • Using Mut at 3CP might waste a point or two, but if you're in a spot where you don't NEED to do something else that's just fine - it will have more impact with your set bonuses that way.
  • While Kingsbane is running, this is less important, and you should try and maintain that buff rather than wait for the perfect number of CPs. 
• Obviously your Bleed uptimes could be improved, but they aren't bad by any means

TL;DR you're doing well, keep it up
