Spec Dilemma

hey guys,

I've got a dilemma regarding which spec to use on my DK, BoS or Oblitiration.

this is my great ATM:

as you can see I've got the shitty legs and the trinket, none of these are the recommanded legenderies for the BoS spec.

I can pull somewhere between 40 sec to 60 sec of BoS and my DPS can be somewhere around 450k - 550k

I would like an advise about which spec should I use, I havnt tried Oblitiration in raiding because Im in a casual progrestion guild and dont want to be the setback.

BoS has the greater potential to give much higher dps at this moment in time. 40-60 seconds is very good btw. The length of the breath is less important than squeezing in as much dps in that window as you can without having your dps fall off when BoS is on CD.

Keep at it is my advice.

In most cases right now BOS is pushed as the superior frost dk rotation set up. As shells said the full length of the breath isn't as important necessarily as using resources effectively during. So in addition to the hard guide here I may recommend 

as a supplemental reading source on the topic. 

The basic gist of it is that the set bonuses from nighthold benefit BOS more than any other frost build currently known. This plus the fact that the legendaries contribute even further to its power. Now there is opportunity on some fights for OBRA to do more damage for you, but that's highly dependent on raid comp, strategy, and a bunch of other factors, the tldr is BOS is generally superior all around even without the specific legendary items. 

also just an FYI Kiljaedens trinket is the BIS trinket for dks and one of the best stat sticks you can get. So i wouldn't be disappointed with that, its both exceedingly helpful to your characters stats as well as being a powerful powerful trinket attack. Also with the pants getting multiple shots out of Sindragosa could be tremendous dps gains if used properly. You have some pretty awesome legendaries.

@Kasamit Not nearly as long as the others answers. BoS is just far far far superior to Obliteration even if you mess it up badly it does better. Don't worry about legendarys it happens, just use what you got.  BoS is better on every fight in every situation assuming you are attuned to it, getting a feel for how/when/should/would/maybe BoS in this or then or now or later is all up to just getting used to it, so just play with it you'll get better results the more you play with it.
