Hi.

I was going online through this build and all the builds have included more then one Area Damage rolled primary stat., exept your build. So i'am wondering is for GR pushing (over 100) AD important or not. All the top builds has it rolled three times or more.

I’m using this build for some time, i am not sure about traveler pledge. if you have been standing still for say about 5-7 seconds your attack power will be increased by 100% and you'll have no extra Damage reduction. once you start moving your attack power will gradually decrease while your damage reduction will increase. As you keep moving the values will change until you will have attack power 0% and damage reduction 50%. The moment you stop moving the attack value will start increasing while your defense value will start decreasing. So impale, vault, impale, vault, you never have full reduction or full damage.

Don't run from pack to pack.  Engage pack and then vault to next pack.  It keeps your damage at max.  If you must move, say, to re-position yourself, keep movements to small stutter steps ONLY.

I never use Stricken on this build. I only level the Pain Enhancer to lvl 25, higher isn't needed for the build. Bane of power can be an option to replace it on torments and having seethe on.

might as well skip pain enhancer from the start and go with powerful.  There's no loss in doing it.  There is no need for seethe rune as a rule, with regards to grifts.

If you're running rifts, swap out the dark heart rune for seethe and aquila cuirass for visage of gunes in cube.

2 things.

First, I have 56.5% CHC without my helm and cant roll both CHC and Impale %, so in this case shouldn't I just go for impale %? I mean, after 50% arent you just increasing the probability that 2 hits will be consecutively critical? (In my case that would occur once every 20 hits: 50% means once every other hit ~5% means 1 in 20 ergo every 20 hits will create 2 consecutive crits)

Second, how does pain enhancer really benefit this build? I just try to kill a boss, elite pack, and move on to the next. I make it my business not to waste my time hitting trash. Wouldn't stricken work better for this? (I also only have 50% area damage, this may be another reason) PE dosent really help for rift guardian melting

Your best bet on the helm is:

dex

chc

impale damage

and, it can be done.

I don't use stricken or pain enhancer.  Powerful is a much better option, unless you are really pushing high (110+ imho).

There are 2 valid options with this build - IAS or AD - both are equally valid imho, depending on personal preference play styles.

note: generally speaking, you ignore trash with this build, unless you play on console like myself, and then NG is required for full damage output...ignoring trash on console means 50% PC damage...which is just not feasible as you can appreciate.

not all all.  I went 100+ in s12 with IAS (and no AD at all).

has blizzard made any changes to this build's gear/skills?   s13, and it's as fragile AF now.  Getting constantly one shotted in low 90s.  Contrast this to my s12 impale, which had ZERO issues with survivability until the mid 100s.  I did a 99 in s12 with just 3 ancients, lgems in the 50s, 1 augment @ lvl 50 and can't come even remotely close to that now in s13, despite a similarly geared char in s13 . Very frustrating!!!!

edit: turns out my 4 year old niece had changed my FOK rune...

This is my first DH build.  With lvl 50s gems and 0 ancients, I was getting killed at GR 65 and T13 regularly. I looked around on the internet and found that Rhyker had posted another variant of the build with diamonds instead of emeralds.  I made the change and I also replaced COE with Unity.  Now I was able to do GR72 and T13 easily.   As I get more ancient items and get better skilled at playing, I hope to switch back the COE.  Maybe this might work for you.

For those who use Fan of Knives constantly like I do, you could also put Lord Greenstone's Fan into the Cube's weapon slot! Currently running this build and I'm easily busting through GR35's at Para 310.

you could use ancient parthan defenders for some DR from stunned monsters, but when pushing, more DPS is always required, hence using strongarm bracers.

I updated my earlier post (I'm an infrequent visitor to the forums lol).

If you're following the impale s6 build guide on icy veins, you shouldn't be dying AT ALL on T13.  NEVER.  You're doing something wrong, or you aren't following the guide correctly.

Emeralds vs diamonds - on SC (which you're obviously playing), there's no sane reason to go with diamonds.  Dying isn't permanent.  You are far better off staying with Emeralds for the DPS boost AND the added toughness that they add (more dex = more dodge = more toughness).

There is ZERO need to be using unity no SC.  I can easily do an 80 without lgems with no augments and only a handful of ancients and with less than perfect stat rolls too

Have you got a link to your bnet account profile or d3planner profile for your build?

lacking?  How so?  I did a 106 last season (rank 73) with just under p1200, and a 107 just after s12 finished (p1500).  That 300 paragon made a difference on the 107 clears/attempts for me and I can reliably clear 107 now.  Top players had 3k paragon plus, 1800 more paragon points than me, equating to 5400 main stat dex points, around 30% dmg buff, or 2 grift levels.  I can't compete with the guys cheating using groups to boost paragons and lgems for solo play...it's an extreme unfair advantage and not in the spirit of solo imho.

The build is still very nice and competes well on the LBs when compared to other classes (top DH clear on SC PS4 console for DH was very similar to Monk, Barb, but, admittedly well below cru, necro and wiz because Blizzard doesn't know how to balance this game properly).

One thing came to my mind.

Why not use Dawn as a Weapon? It has way more dmg and is faster and cube the Dagger instead.

You need a melee weapon equipped.

Impale 2-set gives 1200% damage when using a melee weapon. That's far more damage than you would receive from using Dawn.

Correct.

Also, getting dawn equipped and with the max 65% vengeance CDR is very difficult.  Cubing it gives it to you easily.

True - the CDR is doable while using Gogok, but then relies on max stacks also.

I run gogok, CDR on shoulders, diamond in helm and CDR in paragons, and don't have any issues with CDR, unless it's a long stretch of low/no density in a GR.  It's not really an issue imho.

Cleared a 108 2 nights ago, a PB, rank 17 (PS4, SC).  A 109 is doubtful, too low paragon (just under p1400) and lgems, since I'm a solo player (108/109ish).  I can't compete against the guys levelling stuff up via group play and then doing solo runs :(  it's not a fair or level playing field.  Solo LBs *should* be solo.

I meant without max Dawn, it probably gets a bit tighter, especially on bad rifts. I'd rather have perma-Veng than have the tiny bit of damage a Dawn would provide (if 2-set didn't exist)

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.

The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a Level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8
Our next patch goes live on October 22 and introduces quality-of-life updates for demon slayers on Mac. New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. Return to Top

Here's a preview of Season 33 and Patch 2.7.8 that will soon be available for testing on the PTR.
      Shades of Nephalem Theme
In the latest Diablo III Season, the Shades of Nephalem season theme marks a return. Activating a Shrine or Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class. The clone's power wil scale with your character and last for one minute or until death.

      Fourth Kanai's Cube Slot
In addition to the season theme, Kanai's Cube will have an additional fourth slot.

      Season 33 Start?
We expect Season 33 to start in late September/early October 2024.

      PTR FOCUS AND DETAILS
The Patch 2.7.8 PTR will soon be under way. During this time, there may be periodic maintenances, outages, hotfixes, or minor patches. We urge you to focus your playthrough on the following:
New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. If you experience any stability issues or difficulties in connecting with Mac players, please give us that feedback. So that we can efficiently review your posts, please provide feedback in the PTR Feedback forum and bug reports in the PTR Bug Report forum.
