positiv2 953 Report post Posted March 31, 2017 Who are your favourite heroes and why? For me it's definitely Illidan, mainly because he looks cool, and because I love playing aggressively, and Illidan's Dive allows me to do so. He has great abilities and talents to stick to a target and take them out quite quickly. Can't wait to get Spectre Illidan!
MurkyFelix 51 Report post Posted April 1, 2017 In my case I'm a bit torn between Murky and Nazeebo. I love Murky because he's annoying, very easy to use and his waveclear is insane (I find it's satisfying to see a load of minions go pop at once) and it feels really good to get a kill, because you're Murky. It's also really fun to be deceptive; like on Sky Temple, I usually put my egg bottom and go top (or the other way round depending on teammates) and then if I die, just push the other lane and usually get a surprise kill/push. And temples. For Nazeebo, I'm in love of his GingerBreadMan skin and use Zombie Wall build just for the animation and sound effects. I also take Ravenous Spirit for the same reason xD Late game, he's insanely strong and that's the aim I play for too, not really an early game person, and I love trapping people with Zombie Wall.
Niteshadow 20 Report post Posted April 9, 2017 I'd have to go with The Butcher, Tracer, or Azmodan. Abathur is a close second as well. Butcher, because who doesn't want to take down an ETC in less than 3 seconds even without percentage based damage, Tracer because you can NEVER kill her, and Azmodan because your health pool is so big you can live through a ton and deal 1.5K in a large area on an 8 second cooldown. Like Abathur because his locusts tear down forts so easily and just because of his play style. More of a list, but still with the same idea :)
Valhalen 1,484 Report post Posted April 18, 2017 Instead of ranking a favorite Hero, I'd rather rank my favorite of each class: Warrior: Sonya. I really like her gameplay style, and how she can be surprisingly strong in the right hands. My issue is that she is too squishy for a Warrior, and that she only shines endgame. I'd rather Blizzard either turning her into an Assassin or a more sturdier Bruiser. Assassin: The Butcher. At one point he was even my main. And ever since the rework he became a monster. That raw auto attack damage is awesome. Support: Auriel. I've been a healer main since the Beta (I played Li Li and occasionally Malfurion), and I was always bitter due getting out of mana. Auriel solves all those problems with her unique Hope mechanic. Specialist: Probius. His unorthodox gameplay is really fun to use. And he is adorable. Now in terms of characters themselves, I really like The Lost Vikings. They have the best lines, the coolest animations, and Blizzard really nailed with their designs.

Valhalen 1,484 Report post Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) Time to update my list! Warrior: Garrosh. He is pure cancer. I hate fighting against him, but I love using him. Well, I guess that's how the entire community feels about Garrosh in HotS (or in general): he is hated as much as he is loved. I also really started enjoying Rexxar again, but sadly he is in a bad state in the game (even after his rework). Diablo is another one of my favorites (probably even more than Garrosh). Assassin: Gul'dan. He feels quite impactful during teamfights (even though he has non-existent utility until you get Horrify), but he has a very solid kit: AoE, poke, waveclear, sieging, self-sustain, and the best escape in the game (Demonic Circle). However, I feel that he falls in a category similar to Nazeebo, where he needs a burst oriented hero (like Jaina or Kel'Thuzad) in order to be truly effective since most of his damage comes from poking and slow sustained damage. Support: Stukov. I simply love his healing mechanics and how it is potentially one of the strongest in the game. You pop your Healing Pathogen and watch it spread while you can focus on other things (like silencing people with Lurking Arm). Using Massive Shove to push enemies towards your structures is also really damn fun. Lastly, I love motherfucking pimp slapping everyone with +200 basic attack damage at level 1. Once Alexstrasza is released, she'll probably fight for the spot of my favorite Support. Specialist: Nazeebo. "WAAAAH-EE-AAAAHHHH!" xevex 41 Report post Posted November 18, 2017 Assassins:Alarak: Insane dmg, Insane combos, great playmaker. I feel like i own the battlefield when i play him also his voice lines are the best in the game i laugh everytime i hear him speak. Chromie: Again. Insane burst dmg. Insane range. Completly untouchable with a strong frontline. Capable of killing squishies by her self. Junkrat: Good sustaing dmg and very long range. Arguably the best CC in the game (Concussion Mine) and its just so fun to blow someone up into your team and see them die lol. Also Spread Volley allows you to finish a full hp Sonya if shes unable to move. Lunara: Shes just bae. Poison everywhere. Whole enemy team at half hp before the fight even started. You may have noticed but i dont really like basic attackers. LOL Warriors: D.Va: Arguably one of the best peeler/life-saver in the game. Its so funny to see an enemy Butcher gank your healer and casting a Lamp to the Slaughter, beiing so sure hes getting a kill. While you Glide over to him and put a defense matrix on him. Denied. LOL And the fact that shes basically a ranged assassin in her pilot mode makes her even better. She can even act as a finisher for your team with her Bigshot. Shes very versatile thats what i like about her. Sry guys i dont play warriors much. lolSupports:Ana: Piercing Darts all the way. Definetly one of my favourite healers ingame. She has so many possible ways to help her team secure kills. Grenade/Shrike(AA)/Sleep Dart. Getting kills across the map with Horus is very satisfying and Nano Boost just wreckes everyone if put on the right hero.Stukov: Insane burst healing. Best basic attack ever. AoE Silence that can be channeled.Specialists: Abathur: Hes very fun to play and its really funny how people dont even take note of him until they get finished with a spike/mine or their walls crumbling down. HIs incredible soaker on some maps. Its also very interesting how you cant play the same build on every map. Murky: Cmon. Who doesnt love Murky? Pissing people off is the best fun ever. Its also so funny when your Pufferfish gets ignored and someone goes *PUFF*. Probius: Wave-clear as good as Murky. Burst dmg that can finish off heroes. His teamfight presence is so big. Rift create sort of a safe playfield for your teammates. Null Gates can secure such nice kills too.

Leadblast 28 Report post Posted November 22, 2017 (edited) I like a lot of bruiser type heroes, (Fury) Varian, Tyrael, Arthas, and also Raynor, too bad Raynor is kinda weak nowadays. Kharazim is also one support I look forward to main, as he is also a bit of a bruiser. Abathur I like because of his unique gameplay. I also play often a bunch of other heroes like Falstad, Valla, Sylvanas, Uther or Auriel but those I play more because of how effective they are, rather than because I like them, as I don't really like them a lot but they're all very strong in one way or another. I find stutter-stepping with Valla easier than Lunara's, at least for me. Lunara has that weird bouncy animation while moving that I find really annoying to stutter-step with. Valla might not have 170% speed, but with the Hatred Build she has one of the strongest sustained-to-burst damages in the game, which becomes even better with stutter-stepping as her attack-speed will be really insane.

Lunara has that weird bouncy animation while moving that I find really annoying to stutter-step with. Well of course my opinion is subjective. Lunaras speed gets fast to 200% when she jumps and decreases mid jump to 80%. Thats why i love her stutterstep. By interrupting the jump with a basic attack you basically get only positive speed when stuttersteping. 20 minutes ago, Valhalen said: Valla might not have 170% speed, but with the Hatred Build she has one of the strongest sustained-to-burst damages in the game, which becomes even better with stutter-stepping as her attack-speed will be really insane. And thats the problem. Her hatred build has so many attack speed modifiers that you basically need to learn multiple stutterstep timings just for one hero. Hitchadaphilo 5 Report post Posted November 27, 2017 My favorite hero is currently Kharazim, though I'm still very new to the game so he probably won't be my main for long. I like him because of his versatility and also because it's really fun to Radiant Dash to enemy then punch them a bunch with Deadly Reach or Seven-Sided Strike. Previous heroes I've played are Gazlowe (I love defending map objective with a bunch of turrets), Stukov (for the same reasons as Valhalen), and (briefly) Li Li (just because she was a free healer).
PrivateJoker 27 Report post Posted December 2, 2017 Zuljin. He was the first hero I tried that super clicked. All his abilities are really easy to understand right out the gate, and even after learning dozens of other heroes, he's still the one I perform best with. The amount of damage he craps out is just nuts (and it got even better with his rework).
Leadblast 28 Report post Posted December 2, 2017 (edited) Zul'jin is actually easy to learn but hard to use. Yes the abilities are easy to understand, but you have to balance your health carefully with him, at full health you're not doing great damage, and at low health you're doing a lot of damage but you're easily killed too. He's the Huskar of HotS. Is there a guide on stutterstepping with Lunara? I'd like to know how, as well. Edited December 2, 2017 by Leadblast

That's true, but since he got reworked, now he has access to Amani Rage. You open a fight by popping that, and you crack into that high damage output right away, and slowly get that health back. At first I thought the recent nerfs around him (having it take longer to regenerate that health) was a straight nerf, but it actually just keeps your damage output higher for longer, which is great as long as you're not being focused (although the change to Recklessness definitely hurts this). Then once you have access to Tazdingo, you can dare them to focus you down, as long as you can avoid being cc'd, you can either retreat to pop your E and heal, and hopefully get your support to fix you up. He definitely struggles with mobility, and you have to keep a close eye on your health, but for whatever reason, those are weaknesses I'm pretty cool with dealing with. Every once in awhil,e you think you're definitely goign to die, so you just stand there and try to take down anyone you can with you, and suddenly you just win the fight instead. That's always a great feeling. Edited December 3, 2017 by PrivateJoker
gamerk2 20 Report post Posted December 14, 2017 Nazeebo was my first main, and even two years later and the fact I NEVER play him anymore I've still played twice as many games with him as everyone else combined (and I've got everyone at level 7 now, so I've played a bit with everyone at this point). Problem is, he just isn't good right now; chip damage isn't useful while Lucio exists. Aside from that, I mainly play tanks at this point. I can play all of them to some extent, though I've found Artanis, Garrosh, Anub, and Arthas my favorites (though I liked Arthas more before his re-work, when he had a lot more damage). Support wise, Medivh, though only in very specific team compositions. Otherwise I default to Rehgar or Uther depending on team comp. I don't think I have a positive win rate with any Assassin, though I've had success with Butcher. I used to have a much wider hero pool, but Blizzard has a nasty habit of breaking my favorite heroes. I can't play Falstad anymore since they took away the mini-stun on his AA at level 16, as he doesn't win 1v1 fights with any other assassin anymore. Thrall has been re-worked into crap (seriously, if I want lightning poke I'd just take Li-Ming). Solo-healer Brightwing doesn't work anymore.
