frost Frost Mage talents for NH?

I'm looking for the best builds per boss in NH.

I'm kind of just winging it atm.

Any help would be appreciated

The best builds are somewhat reliant on whether you have your 2pc, since that makes Lonely Winter the go to. Bone Chilling is a decent contender before 2pc, but with it LW is solidly on top.

 

There really isn't a whole lot of switching around boss to boss when it comes to frost. Thermal Void is the go to for almost every scenario for the 100 tier, Incanters Flow is almost an auto take, Rune of Power is not great for frost since you're wasting time that could be spent generating or spending FoF charges dropping the runes and our damage is fairly evenly spread out over a very long cooldown window, not as easy to fit a bunch of damage into a 10 second window, and Mirrors is also weak in comparison.

 

The only 2 tiers which affect DPS that give much of a choice are Arctic Gale vs Unstable Magic and Splitting Ice vs Frozen Touch.

 

Arctic Gale is a good take if there will ever be multi target that survives the duration of the Blizzard, with a good chance of it staying inside the blizzard at all times, while Unstable is a rather minute (~1%-1.5%) single target bump, but entirely passive and if you cast no blizzards at all will benefit your damage (Krosus for example, where if the adds are alive for a whole blizzard, your raid is messing it up). Also if you have the Blizzard belt Arctic Gale is pretty much a must take.

 

Splitting Ice vs Frozen Touch is the other where you may switch off, Frozen Touch being stronger in a pure single target or multi target where the adds are never stacked, however the amount of FoF charges you will get over the course of the fight due to the talent is really not amazing, and if there is ever a chance that you can get a good couple Split lances, it may be worth it to just take Splitting, as it boosts damage of Lances by 5% as well as giving the cleave option.
