Tank trinks?

I've seen a lot of different opinions on tank trinks and it seems to be up to personal preference a lot. The nighthold trinkets seem kind of lackluster to me, but I wanted your opinions on their usability and if any NH trinkets are worth it. Currently I'm running 865 bloodthirsty (http://www.wowhead.com/item=139329/bloodthirsty-instinct&spec=72&bonus=1487:1807) and 895 royal dagger (http://www.wowhead.com/item=140791/royal-dagger-haft&bonus=1492:3444). I'd really like something to at least replace the bloodthirsty but nothing I get seems worth it. The reason I made this thread is that I recently got an 880 pvp trink with a socket (http://www.wowhead.com/item=145226/cruel-combatants-insignia-of-conquest&bonus=1542:3491) from a relinquished token and I'm wondering if it would be a good trinket. I'm trying more for mastery/haste now instead of vers, but the agi proc seems like it might push this trink over bloodthirsty depending on how often it procced. Any advice on tank trinks would be greatly appreciated. Heres my chracter if it helps any (http://us.battle.net/wow/en/character/proudmoore/Glaivecombo/simple). I just feel lost as to what's good and what trinkets I should be aiming for. Right now it feels like picking trinkets out of a hat and just seeing what happens. :\

In my opinion you should go for a dps trinket. Im currently running with memento and the legendary tank trink, but before i got them i just went with plain stat sticks with crit or mastery. the thing is that no matter what stats u choose they all have some defensive ability, and ofc offensive. When running with my guild in raids i have found that maximising my dps really helps smooth things out, and its alot easier to hold aggro from other tank. Hallgrimur has the right idea, in my opinion. Focus a bit more on the DPS trinkets and let your defensive abilities do their thing.

If you're fortunate enough to get the Legendary DPS trinket (Kil'jaeden's Burning Wish) it can be an amazing trinket because it has both decent stats, and the fire orb from the on-use part does a nice chunk of fire damage in aoe situations which is also a nice chunk of healing to you thru Charred Warblades.

The good news is that you can more or less use any trinket and be okay. The bad news is that it also means none of the trinkets are really super fantastic either.

I typically run the Kil'jaeden's Burning Wish + Unstable Arcanocrystal. If I had to swap out the Legendary I'd use something like an Eye of Guarm, Memento of Angerboda, or Bloodthirsty Instinct.

I switched to a DH about 3 weeks ago after playing a protadin for a very long time and I faced the same issue. Especially since I don't plan on raiding until I switch to a different realm, my trinket sources are more limited than a raider. However, since Nighthold trinkets aren't that great anyway, I don't feel that I'm being held back that much anyway.

So as you can see, I'm simply using stat sticks and while I'd love for them to be higher ilvl variations, I have yet to come across trinkets that I feel are better (even all 890-910 trinkets I found so far in M+ were worse.)

I simply cannot see the appeal of trinkets that slightly reduce the next hit you take and then you receive more damage later. Even for lifesavers like the dagger haft I am having trouble seeing a proper usage for. If there were attacks that you needed your life saved from, then there's usually something else going awry.

That said, I would definitely replace any legendary that's not the necklace for the legendary trinket if I'd get it. It's both a stat stick, oh-shit button and it has a damage boost as cherry on top. What's not to like? Hoping I get it soon.
