Patch 7.2.5 - Heirlooms & Flightmaps for Alts

Recommended Posts

IkRyeb8.jpg

Patch 7.2.5 continues to improve the alt experience with Heirlooms that will scale up to Level 110 and flightmaps.

Alt Improvements continue with every Legion patch and Patch 7.2.5 is no different. The first big change is that heirlooms now scale up to Level 110. Combined with Legion flying and Demon Assaults, you'll level up your alts in no time.

The following items have been added to vendors

For 15,000 Gold you can purchase a flightmap that unlocks various flight points in Eastern Kingdoms / Kalimdor. Both need to be purchased separately for a total of 30,000 Gold.

If you're a returning player, don't forget to read our 7.2 tips here.

It is a good but not necessary thing to give flight points to alts. Would anyone really use them ? Everyone levels in dungeons after lvl 15 and when you reach 60+ you have flying so you don't need flight points anymore. I know that having a lot of flight points makes it easier if you wanna go between places and AFK while you do it. But I would never pay 30k gold to get all flight points on alts, i'd rather spend it on 310% flying mount speed on several characters.

Getting heirlooms is really nice :) as someone who lvled about 25 characters to max lvl in various expansions this is a real blessing.

I wonder what the price will be and if any heirlooms will be added in Legion, like another slot herilomm: boots, wrists hands?

Honestly i don't get the flight master map, who uses Flight masters on Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms?

Maybe it will help zone leveling. By the time I reach a new zone and discover its flight path, the dungeon queue pops up twice and I outlevel the zone by two and more levels.

I've noticed more than once someone asking for a ride to a far-flung point because they picked up the next relevant quest from the command board and they don't have a flight path to it.

Not everyone levels in dungeons. And not every low character is leveling.

Man, those maps... if those were the prices to open them account wide then maybe, but individually? I know they want some gold sinks but man...

Their toys that means their already account wide items

15k each per character is waaaay too high, if a new player to wow wants this it will literly force them to buy a wow token to cover these prices... I can understand how shitty it is when low levels have to travel from undercity to, for example,  wetlands or from orgimmar to ferales.

Heirlooms sounds good tho :D

EDIT:

Didnt notice that those maps where toys. but its still tooo expansive.

I don't care much one way or the other if my alts have all the flightpaths and I certainly wouldn't pay that kind of gold for them.

No, not everyone levels through dungeons. I've leveled 4 characters from 1-110 so far in this expac (including 3 somewhere in between) without grinding dungeons. Blizzard has heavily increased the experience gains from questing, and it is a much less repetitive and stupid way to level, even if it is a bit slower than dungeons. Don't assume that just because something isn't worth it for you,, it's worth nothing at all. With millions of players, there are TONS of us that are going to love this, as it will be AMAZINGLY useful and completely worth the price for questing, especially in a WoW economy where making 15k gold takes 2 hours if you know what you're doing with profs.

*Quick edit* No, at 60, FPs are still better, because they are as fast as 70 flying (100% movement speed more than the 160% you get from basic flying) even if they wind about a bit.

It's clearly not meant for NEW players, but ALTS.

Blizzard, what the actual fuck. 15k per continent? I get that we can buy gold legally now, but don't shape the game after the assumption that everyone buys gold or grinds professions all day.

I be to differ, while i do some dungeons, but from experience with today's generation of gamers, they are unreliable, they are quick to blame others for their mistakes, i mean mistakes happen, its how you learn from them and how to get back on the bike, so to speak that matters more in the end, but they just blame others to save their pride and ego and then leave, crying to their mommy or daddy, whichever applies to them.

The Problem with MMOs now-a-days is the lack of a good community, most, if not all players that do group content only go for people that are overly qualified to do said content, i have seen ti enough on Twitch Streamers, they only accept players that are way over geared, way over experienced, ignoring anyone that can't promise a perfect and easy run.

Hell, even now-a-days you can't even do anything without being told HOW to do it, i mean it takes away all the fun of figuring it out by making mistakes, but hey, i just like to figure things out for myself, i mean seriously do people play mystery genre games with a walkthrough guide? i don't, i like to figure it out myself, its so much cooler and it gives a much more better sense of achievement.

You know what i mean?

Well, Once you have 1 character at level 110, the gold you make is so insanely high, 15k gold is not that much at all....not to mention those that have spare real life money spare, can buy wow tokens and sell them for like 60k-150k, depending on the realm and i have roughly 250k gold now, not much compared to others, but doing dailies, while tedious and repetitive is alot more interesting than repeating the same dungeons all day long and not to mention the more often than not 30mins wait in queue only to be queued up with players that die once and give up.

I am sure not everyone is like that, but this latest generation clearly wasn't taught to never give up, especially after a single try.

Although 15k can be quite high for such a small thing, i would suggest Blizzard makes it an account-wide thing like the Heirlooms, where 15k and 30k for an item to upgrade the heirlooms is worth it.

Why end it with *You know what I mean?* to make it sound like what you said had anything to do with what I said ? When it really didn' :P I agree with you completely with the whole figuring shit out by failing and learning and I didn't say anything that would go against it in my post. And ofcourse Streamers goes for the best geared / classes to get carried the most.

Like Asmongold said in one of his Youtube clips (not quoting directly) but it was something like; "If you get offered $1mil or $1mil and $1dollar, why would you go for the lesser one ?"

I know some will say *oh taking the bigger amount is just greedy and selfish and blah blah blah*. But who said that the one taking the money would keep it only to himself. You saying that you've seen streamers only accept players that are overgeared and experienced, but I've also seen WoW streamers, like Quin69, take a full raid of overgeared people (including himself on his main) and then invite 2-3 randoms that are WAY undergeared, their average ilvl is almost 50ilvls lower than what drops in the raid, and carry them through the raid and give them all the loot.

I would take the $1mil.....that extra $1 is rather pointless.

What you want is a progression group, there are plenty out there and they're easily found. People play how they want to play, it doesn't make them lazy or you better because you like to progress whereas they like to run through it quickly. People have 10 plus alts they run through content, there's simply not time to do progressions on every single toon. You also can't expect to find a ton of people who don't know the raids a few weeks after it's been out, most people that raid will have already been doing them. It's great you like to play the way you do, just don't look down on others because they prefer a different way.

On another note, I have no idea what peoples issue is with 30k gold for FPs? This has been a great help to me personally and 30k gold really isn't that much. People seem to be confused and not know it's account wide as well. So I could hop over to the alliance side (puke) if I chose to and have FPs to all the zones ready to go! It's a great addition to me and well worth the gold.

The heirloom toy maps are 10,000 a piece, not the 15,000 quoted in the original post, I just purchased them in game, so it's 20k, total if you want them for both factions. Horde Only (Walking Kalimdor with the Earth Mother) and  Alliance only (The Modernize the Provisioning of Azeroth).   I bought the one for my void elf, and it gave me a fair amount of flight paths (see screen shot). I've only quested in Darkshire at this point, so this was just learning nearly from scratch what was taught by the book.

It's one use only.  There is no re-clicking it over and over to learn more flight paths, you use it once, and you learn what it offers you.  I highlighted the three yellow boots I self learned, everything else was from the book, The Modernize the Provisioning of Azeroth

I liked the idea, I've played for a long time on WoW, and running to get flight paths takes time, even if you're questing, so this saved me time, and now when I level my other toons, which I'm sure I will with the new system, it'll make it easier to get around in Classic WoW.

Wonder when they make the maps for the other continents. (Outland, Northrend, cata zones, Pandaria, Draenor, and Broken isles.)

We have another triple entry in the hotfix ledger, as Radiant Echoes gets more improvements in retail, while Season of Discovery and Cata Classic get additional class changes.
       August 7  (Source)
      Player-characters
Steady Flight should no longer be removed after entering an Arena. Quests
We tuned up the Prototype Shredder MK-03 so that “Eye for an Eye” can be completed. Radiant Echoes Event
Increased Flightstone and upgrade Crest drop rates in the event. Reduced the HP scaling on all event bosses so that they should be killable in a more-reasonable timeframe. Developers’ notes: This includes both ‘minibosses’ (e.g. Hogger, Thorim) and final bosses (e.g. Remembered Onyxia, Ragnaros). Season of Discovery
Hunter Heart of the Lion once again has a 100 yard range. Warrior The Focused Rage rune will now correctly reduce the cost of Meathook by 3. Cataclysm Classic
Fixed an issue where Faerie Fire did not deal intended amounts of threat when used on NPCs targeting another unit.

Due to a bug introduced with the War Within pre-patch, some players are receiving item level 250 gear from the weekly cache.
We've seen numerous reports on Reddit and the official forums that the Last Hurrah weekly quest on live servers drop low-level gear for some players. Apparently, the bug was first introduced with the War Within pre-patch two weeks ago and still hasn't been fixed.
Here's an example of a low item level drop from the Cache of Awakened Treasures by Omnifox.

Week 2 brings quite a few changes, as Hunters in particular rise up, while Shadow has a really bad time. The top 3 remains the same and very consistent, so let's jump in and see what's going on.
      Warcraft Logs Points
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing, meaning they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor, but a much, much smaller one, as it grants very few points if you do it significantly faster than just any in-time completion. We're also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity, meaning the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
      All Keys
      95th percentile DPS
The top 3 remains quite stable with the Evoker-Paladin-Warrior trio reigning supreme. We see the first change of the week right after that though, as Frost DK continues its upward march in dungeons as well as in raids, taking 4th from Elemental. Both DKs are on the rise, as Unholy also moves a spot up, taking advantage of Shadow's precipitous 5-spot fall to the bottom of the top 10. Arms remains stable as two Hunters burst in, Beast Mastery taking 8th and Marksmanship 9th, as Frost Mage disappears down towards the bottom. Speaking of the bottom, Devastation gets some new roommates there, as Outlaw and Destruction fall and give Enhancement and Feral a break.

Mythic+ All Keys 95th Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      All Percentiles
As with the top percentiles, the top 3 remains solid, but 4th is immediately changed, thanks to Shadow's massive drop in performance this week. The Priest loses even more ground here, falling 9 spots into 13th, opening 4th up for Arms. Beast Mastery moves even higher here, grabbing 5th and moving in front of Elemental and Frost DK, as Marksmanship brings up the rear and completes the Hunter sandwich in 8th. Affliction breaks into the top 10, just ahead of Unholy which dropped to the final spot.

Mythic+ All Keys All Percentile Data by Warcraft Logs.
      Raw DPS U.GG DPS Rankings
U.gg's rankings are based on actual DPS taken from Warcraft Logs data, focusing on the top players and span the past two weeks.
Frost DK finds itself on top in the raw DPS rankings, as Augmentation isn't calculated properly here. Fury and Arms grab the next two spots, moving ahead of Ret, and the Fyr'alath wins continue in 5th, where Unholy finished the legendary axe streak. Even Survival joins the Hunter good times in 8th, where all three specs gather, just ahead of Balance who closes out the top 10.
Mythic+ All Keystone DPS rankings by u.gg.

For even more in-depth data for each individual key head on over to Warcraft Logs. And if you're interested in more info on the specs themselves you can always check out our class guides (updated for the pre-patch), as well as our Mythic+ guides and Mythic+ tier list.

How to Get the Spirit of Eche'ro Mount
      1. Download MapCoords or some other add-os that displays coordinates in the game.
      2. Teleport to Azsuna from the Stormwind/Orgrimmar Portal Room or use your Dalaran Hearthstone to reach Dalaran (Legion) if you have one in your inventory.
      3. Seek out Archaeology Trainer Dariness the Learned in Dalaran at 41,26 and learn Archaeology if you already haven't.

MoP Remix characters that will transfer over to retail will receive a gear boost!
With Patch 11.0.2 now live on Public Test Realms, you can copy over MoP Remix characters from retail! It appears all MoP Remix characters will receive a character boost so you can dive straight into action when the War Within expansion launches.

We can't unfortunately log in to the game with the MoP Remix char on the PTR so we can't confirm the Item Level of gear for max level characters. However, keep in mind that the gear boost will scale with your level, so if you're below max cap, you will receive gear appropriate to your current level.
When Can We Expect MoP Remix Characters to Transfer to Retail?
MoP Remix ends on August 19, so we assume the characters will need to be transferred to retail by August 22 when Early Access begins.
