About Us:
<Trust> is a recently formed guild, founded by a group of long time players that have been raiding together for a couple of years now. Founded out of a desire to continue raiding in a casual-progression manner, we work towards defeating mythic bosses. <Trust> is a raiding guild, first and foremost.
 
Our Raids:
<Trust> maintains a progression-oriented 2-day semi-casual raiding team. That's 'semi' as in we expect our team members to always prioritize life first; but not 'casual' as in we take downing bosses less seriously. We strive to maintain a balance of taking our progression raids seriously while having plenty of laughs along the way.
 
Raid Schedule:
Tuesday & Thursday: 5p – 8p server (8p – 11p eastern)
Friday(optional): 5p – 8p server (8p – 11p eastern)

i am currently in a heroic raiding guild. 7/7 h EN, and 2/3 h ToV. i am also currently 873 item level with a BIS legendary ring.I have been told, and have felt that on multiple occasions i am severely under performing compared to my other guild m8s.I thought it was just my artifact level. i got my 36th trait, and my dps has skyrocketed! alas it is still not enough. i'm looking for anyone who can help me figure out what i'm doing wrong.Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Preface:
- First post on Ice Veins - only recently started using the site but, omg, savior
- Been playing Warcraft for about 4 years, off and on... still consider myself a newb
- Boosted a blood elf mage to 100, thinking I'd only use it for farming
- Got myself all three artifacts and up to 110 as frost
 
So, I got sick of the low dps that frost mage was providing in dungeons and was getting killed frequently. Others in my parties would get very frustrated with me. I didn't blame them.
Today I switched to Fire mage. Of course, I'm not familiar with all the spells but WOW. I tried killing some withered in Suramar just to test it out and they demolished me. Ice Barrier was always my go-to as Frost and if my shield went down before I could recast, I'd cast Mirror Image to take the damage for me.
(I HATE that mages have no in-combat heal)
Looking for help. Tell me if you need me to post anything. Like I said; total newbie. Most acronyms frighten me and there are lots of terms I don't know, lol.
I'm thisclose to finishing Pathfinder Part 1. Should probably stick to Frost until I get it, but I would like to go Fire after that. Preferably without dying.

I have been raiding with ye olde guildies, but alas my dps has been at the bottom of the pile which I expect with my ilvl as they are all much higher but i do feel like i should be doing more than what I am.

So this is my first time posting in Icy-Veins, but after a month or of looking at the various sites, I've decided I want to be judged by people who are better than me.
I would like to increase my dps, and I feel that my issue is more a movement one rather than anything rotation related. (Though if improvements can be made as far as gear focus, rotation, etc., please feel free to say anything.
On fights like dragons, Xavius (the link I will send notwithstanding), or Nyth, I feel like I'm doing my job pretty well. But on fights with more movement (Ursoc) or many adds (Eye/Cenarius), my dps suffers. Is there anything I can do to improve?
