Hei guys, quick question: While working on getting my last piece of this set, I ran Corpsewhisper PauldronsCorpsewhisper Pauldrons instead as it was the only Necromancer shoulder I had. Why is this not included in the build?

This would buff your damage pretty significant, as with good groups or while using Land of the dead, you are at 20 stacks the whole time, giving your Corpse LanceCorpse Lance Brittle TouchBrittle Touch 30%*20 = 600% more damage.

I get that in the proper build it would be competing with Aquila CuirassAquila Cuirass, but am wondering if that is the only reason it is not included, or if there is something else I'm not seing?

The main reason of not using those shoulders is because you will need a full 6PC Inarius set. Needing to use a RoRG means you will lose out on either Krysbin's damage buff, the Endless Walk set for damage and survivability, or Kalan/Unity's survivability.

Considering the only time you'll have a guaranteed, sustained blast from Corpse Lance is during Land of the Dead, which is usually what you use at the start for bone armor stacks or on very big elite packs or the Rift Guardian. And right now, at GR 76, Rift Guardians die well before you'd get much use out of the 20 stacks and you aren't spamming Corpse Lance every few seconds higher up, only to unload a bunch of extra damage into beefier mobs/elites.

In short, Krysbin, Endless Walk, and Unity/Kalaan are way stronger than flat Corpse Lance buffs because a majority of your damage comes from the legendary gems, Corpse Lance existing more as our single-target "I win" button against tanky mobs and Rift Guardians.

For solo Unity>Kalan (as seen by basically everyone on solo leaderboards using Unity lol), but in groups obviously Kalan>Unity.

Actually, thanks to the 4-pc set buff, Kalan is equal to Unity + Bone Armor. Since multiple damage reductions are multiplicative rather than additive, Kalan gets Bone Armor to 75% damage reduction in 15 stacks, and Unity (50%) * Bone Armor (10 stacks for 50%) = 75%.

To me this set is the only viable for the necromancer at the moment.
It offers good durability (much more than any of the other sets) isn't reliant on corpses which can make the Bonespear set a little unreliable in my eyes.

Had no problem with survivabilty so far  (grift 80) but because my gems were just lvl30-50 dmg and time was a problem in the end. Fastfarming Grifts70-75 is a peace of cake with all gems around lvl50-60.
Have Unity and a Hellfire wich gives me the Swift Harvest passive and use Rigor Mortis instead for some more dmg reduction.

Im playing this build and I must admit is a quite good. I noticed that with full set, this build in soo vulnerable from ranged attacks (archers, etc...). For example, on GR72 i died several times from white trash mobs (archers and quill's mostly). Any suggestion about how to enhance survaivability?

Just FYI I run this build with a thorns variant, and it is full of Lulz.  Trangs for weapon.  Hack in cube.  Thorns Chip, Teardrop, and the gem that procs the conduit lighting  thing that hits everyone.  The set buffs them all lol.   I run necro ring, and COE and nice hellfire with draw blood  (great to have insane high LPS).  My other ring is the necro ring.

All skills I use the slow/stun variant, and with so much damage reduction and LPS , I switch out the teleport with corpse explosion (freezing rune) for super fast clears, and corpse lance for bosses.

You can also run a Nova build instead of teleport with Focus/Restraint (the nova with slow buff) if you do not have the necro ring yet.  Just Nova every 5 seconds or so and you will still keep full uptime of the cubed armour dmg reduction.

Why does it say to take maximum essence?  There is only one skill that even spends it (the curse)

because in combination with reilenas shadowhook, you will gain 20% damage increase

But with a follower like the Templar, he has 3 heals and also a stun which is quite useful over Kalans same toughness increase ;)

Because the primary weapon you use increases your DPS per maximum essence you have. You can have 40 on the weapon, 40 from the passive, 50 from Paragons, and then the rest is default. Right now my max essence is 330, and the DPS increase is 0.50% per point, so that is 115% right there.

Can someone indulge me on snapshotting, specifically with the Pain Enhancer? Has it been patched or does the APS change just not show up on the character sheet?

Guest Bone Armor Visual?

Does anyone know if they completely removed the visual for the bone armor skill?  I remember the bones sticking to the toon and getting "additional" armor.  Was this removed all together or does it depend what set or transmog you use?  Thanks in advance.

I have the same problem. I died several (~5-10) times on GR70 from white ranged mobs (archers mostly). My toughness is ~130kk when the Bone Armor skill is activated (w/out it it's ~30kk).

When you have the full Inarius set, the "Armor" visual gets replaced with the bonestorm.

(One that grows in density, the more stacks you have)

I'm curious if Wreath of LightningWreath of Lightning would be a viable alternative for Mirinae, Teardrop of the StarweaverMirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver?
From limited testing, the Wreath seems to have near-permanent uptime. Lower damage per tick, but from my experience so far, Mirinae can take a moment to hit the mob you want dead most.

So, for raw damage, Wreath seems preferable. But you'd lose the healing from Mirinae.

Corpsewhisper PauldronsCorpsewhisper Pauldrons isn't included in the base build because of the need for 6 piece Inarius. However, it does quite well in the cube. Lekas is using it instead of Aquila CuirassAquila Cuirass and has held #1 on the solo necromancer leaderboards for a few days. 3Currently, he's got a 104 GR clear. I recommend trying it out if survivability isn't a problem in solo and definitely using if you've got a zDPS to help you out. With hundreds of millions of bonus toughness rolling in from allies, it makes a great addition. Wearing Corpsewhisper PauldronsCorpsewhisper Pauldrons normally would require cubing or wearing  Ring of Royal GrandeurRing of Royal Grandeur to replace UnityUnityAquila CuirassAquila Cuirass is objectively worse than UnityUnity in Solo and too much toughness IMO for group play so Corpsewhisper PauldronsCorpsewhisper Pauldrons  is cube only.

Hey little question, isn't it better to switch the partha defenders for spirit guard for example? Stunned mobs doesn't hit me normally =), the spirit guard gives you through essence generator 40% reduction for 3 seconds.

Did a 76gr yesterday without any problems in ~10min. gear is like in the guide but not very well rolled, 800k dps/37k def. I even forgot to bring a follower.

Tried a 70gr before with nemesis and without compas rose/travelers neck and got crushed like hell, just got it done in time, so these are pretty essential imo

How do you use bone armor and blood rush at the same time? They're on the same skill path for me. Am I missing something? Completely new to the game btw.

If I haven't gotten Dayntee's BindingDayntee's Binding yet, what would be a good waist option in the meantime? I'm currently using an Ancient version of Thundergod's VigorThundergod's Vigor

Also - If I don't yet have sockets for all 3 of the legendary gems for this build, which are the two preferred gems to use? I'm currently using Bane of the TrappedBane of the Trapped and Mirinae, Teardrop of the StarweaverMirinae, Teardrop of the Starweaver. I'm waiting to add in Pain EnhancerPain Enhancer when I have another socket open up....but should I switch things up in the meantime?

Thanks for anyone who replies with any help!!! :)

A brand new season arrives in Diablo 3 next month! Blizzard have the full preview ready so let's take a look at the cosmetic rewards, season journey, Haedrig's Gift sets, and more!
      Season 33 (Source)
Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 33: Shades of the Nephalem. Starting on October 25 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Shades of the Nephalem theme, which first debuted with Season 22. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 32 will officially come to an end on October 20. Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Patch 2.7.8
      Season Theme
The shadows, they are moving, and they seem… animated. Like they have a will of their own. Whatever this trickery is, perhaps you can use it to your advantage. Let’s see what the demons say when you fight side by side with your own shadow! Shadows of the Past: Activating a Shrine/Pylon will spawn in a shadow clone of your class, who will come with a randomly chosen 1 of 3 predetermined builds. This clone's power will scale with your character and will last for 1 minute (unless your character dies). See this article for the shadow clone variations that can spawn when activating. Kanai’s Cube: Kanai’s Cube will have a fourth slot this season. This fourth slot will have the choices of the first 3 slots but will not stack with any of them, providing additional flexibility to your build. Return to Top Season Cosmetic Rewards
Beginning with Season 17, we began re-introducing previous Seasonal rewards to make them available to any who may have missed them the first time around. For Season 33, this means awards originally available from Season 9 are returning to the Season Journey. However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve already participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth in the Trial of Tempests to earn the Stupendous Contraption pet and the Industrial Portrait Frame.
In addition to the Chest and Gloves slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Pandemonium portraits, and the cute and craggily Rocky pet first introduced in Season 9. Return to Top Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five: Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a Level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete 2 Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at Level 70 in under fifteen seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Treasure Goblins outside of Nephalem Rifts will sometimes open portals to Greed’s domain, The Vault. Take U There: Reach Greater Rift Level 60 Solo. Greater Rift keystones can be obtained from any Nephalem Rift guardian. Power Amplification: Use Kanai’s Cube to augment an Ancient Legendary item with a Level 50+ gem. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top Seasonal Conquest
Want to prepare your Conquest plan for Season 33? Here are the challenges you’ll face: For Curses!/Stars Align, pick any Cursed Chest event that requires killing monsters and defeat over 350 or more at level 70 on Torment X or higher. Also returning for Season 33 is Sprinter/Speed Racer, where you’re challenged to complete the entire Diablo III campaign from Act I to Act V at Level 70 in under an hour! Next is Avarice/Avaritia, where all that glitters is gold—that is, if you can complete a 50 million Gold streak outside of The Vault or its Inner Sanctum. We're also bringing Thrill/Superhuman, which requires completion of a Greater Rift Level 45—solo and without any Set items equipped. And lastly we'll be bringing back Speed Demon/Need for Speed, meaning you'll need to beat a Torment X Nephalem Rift at Level 70 in 2 minutes. Best of luck! Return to Top Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works: Completing Acts II, III, and IV of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. Each Gift contains a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely! The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 33: Barbarian - Might of the Earth Crusader - Thorns of the Invoker Demon Hunter - The Shadow's Mantle Monk - Monkey King's Garb Witch Doctor - Raiment of the Jade Harvester Wizard - Firebird's Finery Necromancer - Grace of Inarius Return to Top Patch 2.7.8
Our next patch goes live on October 22 and introduces quality-of-life updates for demon slayers on Mac. New Mac Executables/Mac Native Silicon and Intel: These updates will allow Diablo III to run on new versions of the macOS. PC Experience Stability: This PTR is open to both Mac and PC players. While the focal point of the 2.7.8 PTR is to test technical updates for Mac, we want PC users to monitor their playing experience as well. Season 32 in Diablo 3 starts on July 12 and here is the official preview with more details.
      (Source)
Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 32: Ethereal Memory. Starting on July 12 at 5 p.m. PDT/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Ethereal Memory theme, which first debuted with Season 24. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below.

      Seasonal Journey
      Season Theme
      Season Cosmetic Rewards
      Season Journey Rewards
      Seasonal Conquest
      Haedrig’s Gift
      Season Theme
As the Nephalem reflect on Sanctuary's history, instruments of power from a bygone era resurface. These ethereal memories will grant those persistent enough to search for them unimaginable power. Legends of the past will manifest once more in the present, and you must decide how to best use these gifts—for ethereal power is fugacious by nature, and will soon return to being no more than a myth.
For this seasonal theme, we were inspired to reimagine how Ethereal items could manifest in Diablo III, with 21 iconic weapons making a return from Diablo II. In Season 32, Ethereals are rare, powerful, and fleeting items.
Season 32 reintroduces Ethereals, a weapon-type that players will be able to acquire and hunt for in their upcoming seasonal journey. Ethereals will roll a powerful set of affixes, a random Class Weapon Legendary Power and a random Class Passive Power. Ethereals will have unique icons, names, item types, and sounds originally found in Diablo II. For additional details on Ethereals, check out the list below:
Ethereals are account bound and can only be dropped by monsters, chests, and destructibles, but do not require your character to be Level 70 in order to drop. Ethereals cannot be acquired through Kanai's Cube or from Kadala. Ethereal rarity drop rate is set between Ancient and Primal items. There are 3 unique Ethereals per class. Each Ethereal has fixed affixes and rolls one random Legendary Weapon power and one random Class Passive Skill. Only one Ethereal can be equipped at a time. Ethereals ignore item durability loss. Legendary Powers and Class Passive Skills rolled on Ethereals do not stack with the same power equipped through Kanai's Cube, Items or Skills. Ethereals cannot be Enchanted, Transmogrified, Dyed, Reforged, or traded. Ethereals can be augmented. Collecting all 21 Ethereals during the season will reward players with the Feat of Strength, Ethereal Recollection. Players who accomplish this will have all Ethereal transmogrify options available for future seasonal and non-seasonal play. Ethereals only drop in Seasonal play and will not transfer to your non-seasonal character when the season ends. Return to Top

We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic rewards for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Feast your eyes upon the Teganze Warrior Portrait Frame and Bat pet!

In addition to the Boots and Pants slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn a series of portrait frames that smolder with demonic fires of the Burning Hells. The iconic wings of Andariel will also be available once more, allowing you to truly embrace your inner Maiden of Anguish.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons for the past few Seasons and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of 5:

      Haedrig’s Gift
Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey (courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift) have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works:
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 32:
Barbarian – Immortal King’s Call Crusader – Seeker of the Light Demon Hunter – Natalya’s Vengeance Monk – Uliana’s Stratagem Necromancer – Trag’Oul’s Avatar Witch Doctor – Spirit of Arachyr Wizard – Vyr’s Amazing Arcana
