Inarius Bone Storm Necromancer

Recommended Posts

This build is still strong after the nerf but it's not the best anymore. The guides should be updated. Trag'Oul corpse lance is by far the strongest now.

The proc nerf to Mirinae was a pretty powerful swing with the nerf bat. its no longer a strong gem and hurts the build overall.

It's way more balanced now after the hotfix. Teardrop was crazy OP before.

Hei guys, quick question: While working on getting my last piece of this set, I ran Corpsewhisper PauldronsCorpsewhisper Pauldrons instead as it was the only Necromancer shoulder I had. Why is this not included in the build?

This would buff your damage pretty significant, as with good groups or while using Land of the dead, you are at 20 stacks the whole time, giving your Corpse LanceCorpse Lance Brittle TouchBrittle Touch 30%*20 = 600% more damage.

I get that in the proper build it would be competing with Aquila CuirassAquila Cuirass, but am wondering if that is the only reason it is not included, or if there is something else I'm not seing?

Maybe because if you are wearing it as opposed to putting it in the cube, there is no space to put a ring of royal grandeur on it if you have Unity, Traveller set, Kalan and Krysbin's Sentence?  in contrast Corpse Lance Trang'Oul has such a space to put that Ring of Royal Grandeur so you can put that shoulder and the corpse-dropping glove together.

Am I the only one who has Bone Armor without 10 stacks after patch (17/7/18)?

I use the 15 stacks, personally I like the extra toughness.

I was wrong. Turns out best bet is Gogok for cooldown reduction of Land of the Dead since the majority of your damage will now come from Corpse lance. This also increases attack speed for Scythe outside of LotD.

I'm only missing Traveler's Pledge, Krysbin, and Dayntee, but I got my shit wrecked as soon as I stepped into a Torment 8 rift. Damage was fine, but there is no healing with this build at all, unless I'm seriously missing something.

Edit: Re-did how I shuffled through the abilities, and I wasn't even touched. Still: No healing as a just in case?

I'd say I completely agree after testing Gogok of SwiftnessGogok of Swiftness is great for cooldown, and increasing attack speed stacked on Swift HarvestingSwift Harvesting is a great combo (especially if you're using my setup).

I'd say Krysbin's SentenceKrysbin's Sentence is the thing that'll push your dmg to t10-t11 easy (until you get ancient/primal pieces). However survivabiltiy is important; are you running Wisdom of KalanWisdom of Kalan and making sure you have max stacks of Bone ArmorBone Armor? Also using one of the passives like Dark ReapingDark Reaping or Life from DeathLife from Death are two great one's if you're struggling with life. There's also DevourDevour CannibalizeCannibalize if you're looking for something more utility based.

Has anyone tried Gogok for attack speed/CDR and Simplicity's Strength for healing, then changing Corpse Lance and gear to Poison damage to match the Bone Armor and Scythe runes?

Also, what element is the damage from the Bone Storm? Highest on gear or...?

Bone Storm damage type is dictated by the elemental type for Bone Armor. If you use the movement speed buff it'll be cold damage, if you use the regeneration buff it'll be physical, if you use the stun rune it'll be poison, etc.

It most certainly is not.  Even pre nerf, the Rathma mages build was killing the Inarius build in terms of damage.  And if the pre nerf Inarius build was OP, WTF about the Trag'Oul corpse lance build?  Both Rathma and Trag'Oul builds easily kill the Inarius build, even pre nerf.

I stand by my original comment - Blizzard has no idea on how to balance this game.

an example - I was levelling up my DH in s11, was around lvl 50 when a friend joined with a lvl 1 character.  We did a few rifts together, he was playing with skeleton pets.  By the time he got to lvl 10, he was killing things faster than  my better equipped lvl 50 DH...so, how's that balance for you?

I'd say it's more of a marketing scheme to buy into the $10 OP builds that you can make from the necro... I enjoyed the Necromancer but not having any ancients and being able to do T13 is ridiculous.... and if it's not they should de/buff the other classes to match each other in terms of balancing...

What about survival, after Mirinae fix? I noticed that i need more healing after the patch, but I cant find solution about it. Now I'm duying  much more and almost all range dmg is killling me...

Is there any suggestion how to improve healing now (since Mirinae before fix healed the necromancer)?

I am having the same issue. Switched out the Mirinae for Molten Wildebeest's Gizzard which helped quite a bit.

I'm using this build exactly as it is currently written. I do not have ancients on everything yet, but my gems are all level ~70. I'm soloing Torment 13 GR 74 with time on the clock.

The build is squishy, so you need to get that 15 stack bone armor quickly or forget it. Once you get it fully ramped up it just rolls along.

I just cleared gr70 in about 7:30 on hc, with something mostly similar to this build. I'm running with mirinae, pain enhancer and trapped but I've cubed reilenas and I've also not went with land of the dead. Full buffed I've got around 560mil toughness when it peaks, if my eyes didn't fail me.

Spooky to get the bone armor stacks but almost unkillable when you're at full stacks, basically I just jump in with blood rush if I see a pack large enough. As it's the easiest way.

I still need to make a few adjustments and find a decent off-hand but otherwise pretty solid.

Blizzard have moved the launch of Season 34 back a week!
While it was supposed to start today, Blizzard cite players not wanting the new D3 and D4 season launches to overlap on the same week, and needing more time to get the season properly set up, as the previous one ended early.
      Season 34 Delay (Source)
      Hi all
We have shifted the start for the new season of Diablo III to next week. This is due to a few items:
We received a good amount of feedback that many didn’t want overlap with the first weekend of Diablo IV’s new season. We agree so we are building out that gap and will be more mindful of that going forward.
This will help us properly ensure account states migrate over as we had an issue with the prior season rolling early and us having to kick things back on.
You can find the exact times on our Season 34 blog.

Blizzard has posted an official preview of Diablo 3's upcoming Season 34 that starts on January 24!
The ongoing Season 33 ends on January 19. Season 34 reintroduces the Light's Calling Season theme, which means players can obtain Angelic Crucibles, consumables that may be used to Sanctify any Legendary item, infusing it randomly with one of three new class-specific powers. Cosmetic rewards for the patch are as follows:
Completing the Season 34 Guarian journey grants the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.
Haedrig's Gift will award you with the following sets in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival For more information about Season 34, check out the official blog post below.

Sanctuary needs you to answer its call for aid in Season 34: Light’s Calling. Starting on January 24 at 5 p.m. PST/CET/KST, Nephalem can harness the power of the Light’s Calling theme, which first debuted with Season 27. For an in-depth look at what’s coming, take a gander below. Also, Season 33 will officially come to an end on January 19.

      Season Theme
Looking to turn the tide of an unremitting war between light and darkness, the Angels of the High Heavens have embedded a token of their righteousness in Sanctuary. Cunning Nephalem seeking an advantage in combat will undergo an angelic trial, crystallizing a symbol of their morality into pure, otherworldly perfection. The specific celestial force imbued within by the divine is unknown—an answer waiting to be sought on the battlefield. Go forth, Nephalem!
Season 34 reintroduces Light’s Calling. Valiant Nephalem who recover Angelic Crucibles, a new consumable item, may use them to Sanctify any equippable Legendary item, infusing it with one of three new class-specific powers at random. We wanted to use Angelic Crucibles to lean into the expertise of each class, further exemplifying its respective prowess, but through a nuanced lens. The High Heavens are home to ethereal splendor, bursting with boundless radiance—we wanted to provide players with a taste of untainted power as doled out from Heaven itself.

      Season Cosmetic Rewards
In Season 34, awards originally available from Season 10 are returning. In addition to the Head and Shoulder slots of the exclusive Conqueror Set, you’ll be able to earn the Black Soulstone themed portraits and the scholarly Loremaster pennant first introduced in Season 10.

However, we know it’s nice to have something new to aim for if you’ve participated in previous Seasons. We’re continuing to provide new End of Journey rewards as introduced in Season 17, with two new cosmetic ones for those who complete the entirety of the Season journey. Prove your worth alongside the Shades of the Nephalem and complete the Season 34 Guardian Journey to earn the Book of Cain pet and the Lost Civilization Portrait Frame.

      Season Journey Rewards
If you’ve been diligently slaying demons before and reached Conqueror in the Season Journey each time, you’ve surely accrued a few extra stash tabs. You’ll earn one additional tab each Season by finishing the Conqueror tier, up to a maximum of five:
Guardian of Sanctuary: Finish a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII difficulty within five minutes. Gem of My Life: Level three Legendary Gems to level 55. All I Do is Win: Complete two Conquests this Season. Life Goes On: Kill Maghda at level 70 in under 15 seconds on Torment XIII difficulty. Money Ain’t a Thang: Slay Greed on Torment XIII difficulty. Cubic Reconfiguration: Use Kanai’s Cube to reforge a Legendary item. Return to Top
      Seasonal Conquest
Seasonal Conquests are additional goals you can complete as part of our Season Journey. To earn all the cosmetic rewards, you'll need to complete at least three of the Conquests below. The challenges available in Season 34 include:
Sprinter and Speed Racer task you with completing Acts I through V at max level in under one hour. Want to go fast while killing things? Boss Mode and Worlds Apart are right up your alley. On A Good Day and I Can’t Stop are making a return, if leveling your Legendary Gems is more your thing. Finally, if you’re keen to prove your mastery of various Class Sets, Years of War and Dynasty will be returning along with Masters of the Universe and Masters of Sets. Best of luck! Return to Top
      Haedrig’s Gift

Finally, the Class Sets rewarded for completing certain chapters in the Season Journey courtesy of Haedrig’s Gift have rotated once more. We’ve listed the available Sets below. For those new to Seasons, here’s how it works.
Completing Chapters 2, 3, and 4 of the Season Journey will reward you with three of Haedrig’s Gifts. These contain a few pieces from one of your Class Sets. Players can only unlock one Class Set in this manner per Season across Hardcore and Non-Hardcore, so choose wisely!
The set you receive depends on the class of the character you’re playing when you open each Haedrig’s Gift. To collect a full Class Set, you’ll need to open all three on the same character. In this season, Haedrig's Gift will grant all-new class sets introduced with previous Seasons.
Here are the sets granted by Haedrig’s Gift in Season 34:
Barbarian - Horde of the Ninety Savages Crusader - Aegis of Valor Demon Hunter - Gears of Dreadlands Monk - Patterns of Justice Witch Doctor - Mundunugu’s Regalia Wizard - Typhon’s Veil Necromancer - Masquerade of the Burning Carnival Return to Top

It seems something went very wrong with Season 33, as it it just... ended a while ago. Players took to the forums as there was no early warning, other than a server message around an hour before it all ended. PezRadar responded clarifying that this is not intended and that Blizzard are looking into what happened.
      Season End (Source)
Heard and got some pings while I’ve been out and I have production checking on this early end. This shouldn’t have ended today so something is funky. Will provide an update once I hear back.
