Why critical strike?

Recently Ive noticed alot of people gemming and reforging crit over haste as frost 2h and unholy. Is this something with scaling or due to melee downtime from the boss?

 

I was just curious of the sudden change.

It is purley due to scaling reasons.

So if I'm sitting at a sub-500 iLvl and using a 2h'er for frost, am I better of going with haste or mastery after being hit/exp capped?

That's hard to tell spontaneously, since most simulations for stat weight priorities are done either for t15 (~530-549) or t16 (~553-580) item levels.

 

With a 2h weapon, also frost pefers btw crit over haste and mastery (in the appropriate item levels)
