sub dps : trink/leggie dependent?

So, I've been rather disheartened by my current DPS as a sub rogue in tomb. I feel that I have the burst windows down with the rec'd talents, my opener is usually solid unless affected by mechanics, not to mention ilvl, but I'm hitting nowhere near the burst damage of other sub rogues that not only are my ilvl but over 10 or 15 lower - even without the t20 two piece. And not just burst, but overall damage output, I'm nowhere up to par making the numbers that other sub rogues are. 

The only thing that I have noticed when using the compare feature on warcraft logs is : every person parsing above ~850k has the convergence of fates trinket, and the denial of the half giants wrist leggie. (Mantle is also typically what they have too, but I've seen others with the leggies I have of insignia of ravenholdt or valeera legs.)

Is sub's dps right now really that dependent on the uptime of shadow blades as to why we are parsing as top spec for tomb since the class changes? I understand how powerful it is, but the fact of the matter is that RNG has not decided to bestow upon me either the trinket or legendary, so any fight longer than two minutes or so my dps and damage is down the drain. Should I be rolling with different talents to compensate for my lack of these things to get better results? I've played around with not using death from above and it wasn't a gain, as did AMR tell me that it wouldn't be, as well as running sims with my current gear and other talent combos amr always tells me I won't get the best results.

 Or I have wondered, I see people saying about not backstabbing too much. Is it truly a dps gain to just stand there autoattacking? The combo points generated automatically are slow to come when they do, and I fear pooling for that long just autoattacking will result in a damage loss?

You're definitely taking a loss w/o either Denial or Shadow Satyr, but your trinkets might be the biggest problem. I'm sure Carrn will have much more insight. 

Also your link is broken - I'm guessing you copied from the run box, there's a %20 at the beginning.

fixed, thanks! I do have Shadow Satyr, I was worried that since they removed the teleport from shadowstrike unless you're in stealth that the energy gain wouldn't be as beneficial? In any case, would replacing Insignia or Valeera be a better choice? I really like the survivability and the stats from the legs, but the ring does contribute to damage.

I'd swap the insignia out for Satyr's for the primary stat gain if nothing else, at least until you get your 4pc t20 going (also going to be a huge increase). what other legos do you have?  And what are your trinket choices?

I can see that you have a lot of Haste... You have way too much haste. Try to get some more mastery and versatility. That will improve your dps a lot :-)

You should definitetly run Shadow Satyr, as the energy regen is still significant enough to make your burst windows easier to manage. However I would imagine running those would make the enveloping shadows talent more attractive as you would be dancing a whole lot more often. This not based on science, more of a feelycraft thing. I think it would be worth trying out the different setups on a dummy or some bosses.

My only other legendaries are Prydaz and the Outlaw boots. As for trinkets, aside from my 915 socketed infernal cinders and 925 specter of betrayal that I'm rolling right now, I have an 885 arcanogolem digit and 875 nightblooming frond. I did some sims and it said that my infernal cinders was enough to be an upgrade over the frond at this point but, shucks. It's a pretty steep ilvl difference.

Definitely hoping RNG favors me on that one. Though how much haste is too little, really, I don't want it to be super skewed to where my energy regen and autoattacks slow to a crawl.

 

But once I have the essences to upgrade my shadow satyr, I will definitely switch it back and see if I see some improvement.
