PatrickHenry 293 Report post Posted August 18, 2017 (edited) Hoping to get a pin / sticky on this to keep basic questions answered for the raid. If you have any Class and Spec specific tips, here's the place. Let's help everybody in one place if we can. *This guide for Protection was written with Saruan's Resolve equipped and Cavalier/Knight Templar spec'd in, so if you do not have it, you may need to lean more heavily on Hand of the Protector vs a Cavalier/Templar build. Goroth P - You can Divine Shield through the tank swap mechanic to avoid Burning Armor debuff. If you're on CD you can use a well-timed Shield of the Righteous and a charge of Divine Steed (if you're spec'd Cavalier/Knight Templar) to help soak the hit. This talent combo will also help with the movement and Damage Reduction in Heroic if you find yourself in the midst of a quadrant that is getting the fel bubbles and need to boogie out, as well as to/from the the Fel Spires for Infernal Burning. Demonic Inquisition P - Knight Templar may come in handy here as well for Atrigan's Bone Saw - first to leave quickly before it starts, then for pulling him back to the front with its passive damage reduction and hit him with your SotR as you run through his melee. You will likely also delay a Scythe Sweep until he gets back to you at the front. - If you are having trouble in Belac's cage (ie stacking debuff is too much and you can't keep yourself healed through while inside) go with Hand of the Protector Harjatan All - Murloc adds = use Hammer of Justice and Hand of Hindrance P - Damage intake really is not high in this fight. Keep SOTR up through all the frigid blows and use Eye of Tyr. Proper group soaking should virtually eliminate damage, but SOTR and a Divine Steed (spec'd Templar) for Unchecked Rage. Mistress Sassz'ine All Specs - Abyss Stalker and Murlocs - Use Hand of Hindrance and Hammer of Justice P - Taunt as soon as you see Burden of Pain being cast on the other tank. Divine Steed charges help for moving out of the way of the big Call Vellius splash, absorbing some damage from the purple pools if you run into one (again, in Templar spec), or if bad luck with tornadoes requires a little more movement to get you on the safe side of a green pool. - All of the major damage is in phase 3, and possibly will need Guardian of Ancient Kings in that phase. Sisters of the Moon P - Steed charges getting to the light/dark split and back is helpful, after the other tank takes the boss. All the major damage is in phase 3. Try to save Guardian for that. Maiden of Vigilance P - Templar spec Divine Steed for Hammer of Creation/Obliteration, but if your group is lower on people to split the damage, Eye of Tyr or another CD will likely be more than enough. If your Co-Tank is down you may be able to solo tank a hit with Divine Shield after she begins the cast, then clear Bubble after, but not confirmed yet. Fallen Avatar Protection, Holy - Blessing of Sacrifice helps mitigate the damage of the purple dagger, and Divine Steed to get them pointed correctly and yourself away from the group. (Thanks, Shishikyu) P - Knight Templar and Crusader - Pop your steed right before the burst from Rupture Realities for the Damage Reduction, and to get back from the rear quickly. Spare charges can be spent soaking second (or in a pinch 3rd, with another CD,) Desolate stacks. - You can Divine Shield through the first Rupture Realities also (sans Maiden, of course,) if you dont expect it to be needed later, for that big Prot DPS on boss a few seconds longer. - After the floor falls out you can use Steed (Templar spec) to absorb some of the damage from rupture realities again since there is no boss close to SotR. - Like all the other notable fights so far, the major damage is in phase 3, with the Rupture Realities, Desolate, Black Winds to dodge, Dark Mark to help mitigate/soak and progressively higher Sear stacks - if you have big damage reduction cooldowns left you will likely need/want to use them here at some point. Blessing of Sacrifice can help mitigate some Dark Mark damage on squishy specs (if you're not taking too much damage yourself), or bubble through it if you're the target. Kil'jaeden All Specs - Armageddon Rain will probably be your biggest hill to climb as a raid, so ... Time to Shine! Blessing of Protection works on the Big Armageddon spots - soak yourself or BoP someone else with it. Divine Shield yourself to soak also. Blessing of Sacrifice if someone is taking more than one hit of the smaller ones will help. - Intermission Phase - Work on mastering your soak/BOP rotation. Tanks soak the big hits, and as Protection Paladin your Guardian SHOULD save you (Templar spec Steed usage will further help) during even Heroic soaking, but Divine Shield if you can to be safe. - Darkness Phase - Divine Steed to get to Illidan in the Dark, or to get to the adds quickly. P - Equip Armor trinkets. Darkmoon Deck: Immortality and Feverish Carapace are great choices for this fight. ****************** - Felclaws: **KEEP SOTR UP THE ENTIRE DURATION OF FELCLAWS SotR+Blessed Hammer> First hit > Blessed HammerSecond hit > Light of the Protector Heal SotR+Eye of Tyr > Third hit Trinket+Hammer or Steed(Templar spec) > Fourth Hit > LotP Heal SotR > Fifth Hit NOTE: Unless you're spec'd into Consecrated Hammer, Make sure you're standing in your Consecration during Felclaws for your buffed SotR - This becomes an issue when the orb falls in the center just as Felclaws is beginning. If the orb is dropping, be sure to save your Consecrate until after the knockback. Let him come to your consecrate and SOTR him as soon as he gets there. ****************** ----- Additions will be noted ----- Edited December 4, 2017 by PatrickHenry

Would like to note Retribution does NOT have Blessing of Sacrifice anymore (we did during WoD but was removed in Legion)! Further, looks nice.
